😩💔 THIS IS SHAMEFUL AND PAINFUL TO WATCH I really feel for Ronwen Williams and the entire Bafana Bafana team. Imagine stepping onto the biggest stage in football, representing your country, only to hear fellow Africans cheering against you because of political tensions and the actions of a few xenophobic people back home. For decades, many South Africans have supported African teams at the World Cup regardless of whether they were from West, East, North, Central or Southern Africa. When an African nation played, many of us proudly said, "Africa must win." Seeing Bafana Bafana being booed by fellow Africans is heartbreaking. Football has always had the power to unite people across borders, languages and politics. Whatever our disagreements may be, the players on that pitch didn't create them. They deserve support for representing the continent with pride. Football should bring Africa together, not drive us further apart. 🇿🇦❤️⚽

This isn't just some random ultra, this is the 'leader' of all of SVDs fans. He's not berating them, he's motivating them, reminding them of the club situation, getting some fire into them. After a 6-0 bashing at home, they're not leaving mid game (like you guys always fucking do!), they've stayed, talked with the players, and next week they'll all be there for the away game supporting for a full 90 minutes again, so their club survives. "He should be kicked out immediately!" - no he fucking shouldn't, he's the voice of the fans, something you guys have let them take away from you. The players were asked what he said and if he berated them and they said no, he didn't, it was fair words and motivation. Again: -We own our clubs -We do NOT want to become the Premier League -If the choice is between irrelevancy (from outside Germany) and international fame/trophies, we will ALWAYS pick the first option. This umpire confronted some parents that just wouldn’t stop. He told them to be quiet or he was going to make their team forfeit. They kept on going so….. he called “ballgame!” The heckling parents asked him if he felt better and he said “I feel fine, you feel okay?….the game is for your kid……you wanna argue balls and strikes in a little league game? Come on!” Then one of the parents says “and this guy’s a firefighter who protects your neighborhood!” 😳 Some people feel that maybe that guy’s Captain at the Fire Station needs to know how he’s acting out in public. Others said he should be banned all season. 💯 I can’t stand parents who act like that. I bet those kids were upset they didn’t get to play. The coach of that team should have intervened and got rid of that parent. Now his players paid the price for some “adult” who couldn’t keep his mouth shut. What would you do? Would you call his work and tell them what he did and how he’s acting? Should he be banned from the park for the rest of the season? How do you think his own kid felt?

This happened during a 12U girls softball game. The umpire had called batter’s interference on the previous batter. As he is getting ready to call the next pitch, he pops up and tells the coach at third base that he doesn’t want to hear it. He doesn’t want to hear one more word, that it was batter’s interference and it’s an easy rule to understand. The coach says something and the ump tells him he’s gone. Then he hears one of the players laughing and ejects that player but the kid says “I didn’t do anything” and the umpire says “you’re F’n laughing.”😳 Then the parents get all up in arms over the cussing and he loses it and starts ejecting the parents. One parent tells the umpire that he’s gone for using the F word. 😂 The umpire continues- “you’re gone! Get out of here! Get out of here! You’re gone! And then tells them “You have to leave. I don’t think you understand your position in these games. “🤯 What a fiasco this turned into. 💯 The umpire shouldn’t be cussing. That we know, but, the coaches and parents and players getting on an umpire, laughing and belittling him, it’s just too much. If they all had kept their mouths shut none of this would have happened. He’s the umpire. He makes the calls. Arguing it isn’t solving anything and just escalates the tensions in the game. He should have remained calm and taken control of the game but he let his own emotions take over. Another day, another game, another embarrassment from all the adults involved, including the umpire, in front of twelve year old girls. 🤦‍♂️ Again, what is the answer to all this? How do we get this to stop? How do we put the focus back on the kids and teach them how to play the game right and how to act accordingly?

So much to love about Garrison Rippa game winning field goal last night for Jacksonville State! He had never attempted a field goal or extra point in college. It was Jacksonville State’s first bowl win ever in their first year as an FBS program. BUT… What stood out the most to me was his pre-kick routine: - Breathwork to control his emotions and lock in on the present-moment. Many athletes take their breath for granted, but the best of the best utilize the power of it. - Feeding his mind powerful thoughts with his self-talk. He kept telling himself over and over “you were built for moments like this.” If players don’t take control of their self-talk in moments like this a lot of times they’ll start to think about what they DON’T WANT TO HAPPEN such as “don’t miss it!”, rather than what they DO WANT TO HAPPEN such as “I’m nailing this!” I don’t know what his final thought was right before the kick but I’m sure it was super powerful and positive. As Derek Jeter says, “The last thing you think is the first thing you do.” Quote from Rippa after the game: “There's a picture of me on ESPN with my head against the wall just like I was just breathing,” Rippa said. “I was just trying to tell myself, you know you prepared for this. All the hours outside of practice, all the hours in practice, been doing a lot. My teammates, they put me in a position to win, and I made it happen. I prepared for this.” All athletes (and non-athletes!) can learn and gain inspiration from what Garrison did last night. Nice work man! 👊

He kept telling himself over and over “you were built for moments like this.” If players don’t take control of their self-talk in moments like this a lot of times they’ll start to think about what they DON’T WANT TO HAPPEN such as “don’t miss it!”, rather than what they DO WANT TO HAPPEN such as “I’m nailing this!” I don’t know what his final thought was right before the kick but I’m sure it was super powerful and positive. As Derek Jeter says, “The last thing you think is the first thing you do.” Quote from Rippa after the game: “There's a picture of me on ESPN with my head against the wall just like I was just breathing,” Rippa said. “I was just trying to tell myself, you know you prepared for this. All the hours outside of practice, all the hours in practice, been doing a lot. My teammates, they put me in a position to win, and I made it happen. Dwyane Wade favorite memory of Kobe Bryant is when Kobe called him for Pick & Roll help during his 2009 finals matchup vs Celtics 🥹 “It was during the 09 championship run against Boston. I’m sitting in prime 112 in Miami, out of the playoffs watching on TV. I get a call from this unknown number and it keeps calling me. Eventually I answer, and it’s Kobe on the phone. I run outside immediately. He says ‘Hey, Boston is guarding me this way on the P&R. What should I do?’ He said ‘You’re the best at P&Rs in this game. I watched your series vs them. How should I attack them when they blitz me, when they hedge, when they playing soft?’ This is one of the greatest players to ever play and he’s reaching out to me, a younger player. Asking me how do I attack these P&Rs. I’m watching the next game and I’m hoping he do one of the things I said. To watch him dominate that series after that, I felt like he let me be apart of that championship”
