When they win, they cheer, and when they lose, they look for a target; love and hate are often separated by emotion.

Nick Wright says his criticism for Wemby was he didn’t want to anoint him, because the All-Time greats and true legends anoint themselves: “And that is what he did last night. He went into the building of the up to this point undefeated defending champs, watch their best guy win the award he wanted. And then said for these next 3 hours I’m going to make it absolutely unequivocally clear who the best goddamn basketball player walking the planet is, that’s what he did.” (Via What’s Wright? with Nick Wright)

Nick Wright says Shai Gilgeous-Alexander just had the shortest tenure of best player alive in the history of any sport: “Most people thought it was Joker going into this postseason, right? And then Joker losses and it’s kind of like up for grabs. And then Wemby has his bad moment with the elbow. Shai gets announced as MVP then it felt like the moment, like he was handed the trophy. All right, he’s the 2 time MVP the defending champs, their huge favorites. Shai congratulations you’re the best player alive. It might have been like 15 minutes, bro. And by the end of the first quarter it’s like, nope it’s the other guy.” (Via What’s Wright? with Nick Wright)

Nick Wright says sports debates ‘suck’ right now after the negative comments on Bam scoring 83: “This guy scored 83 points and the immediate conversation was ‘was that actually good or not?’ THE GUY SCORED 83 F*CKING POINTS! The first topic was ‘should he have tried? Should Bam have subbed himself out at 80 and said a prayer for Kobe as he walked off.’ WHAT ARE WE DOING? If someone wants to say ‘I was more impressed by Kobe 81 than Bam’s 83’, totally legitimate opinion. But that wasn’t the conversation I saw. The takes were ‘actually this is not good. He shouldn’t have tried to do it’ SHUT UP” (Via What’s Wright? with Nick Wright)

Dwyane Wade tells a story of him and Heat fans booing Dorell Wright because Miami drafted him instead of Jameer Nelson: “I’m actually hosting the draft in the arena…the fans get to come in and get to watch the draft…I go and I’m like ‘we need a PG’ Jameer Nelson out there…he on the board, they were like ‘who you want D-Wade?’ I’m like ‘I want Jameer Nelson’…man they said Dorell Wright I was like ‘WHO IS THIS?’ I was hot, I left right off the stage…went in my car and left. Everybody was booing…then he (Dorell) came the next day and I was hot…I was looking at him with his baggy suit on like ‘that’s weak’…” (via Wy Network by Dwyane Wade)

Paul Pierce on Nick Wright comments saying he don’t like Joel Embiid bringing his kid to postgame interview after a loss: “First off Nick Wright says the most ridiculous things. Period. I mean, I’m not a fan. He knows it. You know, he says some of the most ridiculous things because he’s pissed off. Suddenly, this is something that the players have been doing this for decades. Like decades. Now, it’s a problem somebody lose and have their kids up there. It’s okay when you win now. Few weeks ago he called a kid a clown. Like come on though. What is sports reporting? What is this? Like what really is he talking about? Like seriously, bro. I can’t stand this dude.” (Via No Fouls Given)

Nick Wright says he don’t think Wemby was spooked by the moment, it’s something more concerning he’s exhausted: “Victor Wembanyama has been running on a quarter tank since the double overtime game. And that was 7 games ago. What that and this is the tax of and I’ve been banging this drum, I know I’m right. Him going 49 minutes when headed into these playoffs he had I think only gone above 40 twice in his career, and never above 43. All you got to do is look what his shot profile has look like since that game.” (Via What’s Wright? with Nick Wright)

A black man from Chicago walked into a restaurant, ordered a drink, and the manager told him he had to pay first. He asked other people there if they had to pay first; they said no. Then he asked the manager why he had to pay first. The manager said it was normal. He thinks they're being racist towards him because he's black. What do you think of this situation?

Nick Wright says he’s got Kobe Bryant as the 8th greatest player ever, and he was never the best player in the world: “I know people get mad at that take, but here’s the problem and the reason Kobe was never the best player in the world. Because once Kobe got great, call it 99, he wasn’t great yet, but I’ll give him 99 once you started seeing flashes. From 99 until 2002, Shaquille O’Neal was the best player in the world. And then from 2003 until 2007, Tim Duncan was the best player in the world. You know how I know Tim Duncan was the best player in the world at that time? Because he won three championships in five years. He won two MVPs. He was the best player. He was the best player until that 48 special by LeBron in 2007. LeBron was the best player in the world from that moment until 2018. So it was Shaq, it was Duncan, it was then Bron. At no point was Kobe the best player in the world.” (Via What’s Wright? with Nick Wright)

The Moment When Former Teacher Surprises Ian Wright 🥹 Ian Wright was midway through an interview when his past walked in. The former footballer was speaking about his childhood, and the teacher who saw potential in him when he was struggling. During the conversation, that same teacher, Mr. Pigden, was brought out to surprise him. Wright’s composure breaks into immediate, overwhelmed emotion. The moment is one of pure, unguarded gratitude, a man face-to-face with the person who fundamentally believed in him decades earlier. This reunion represents the enduring power of being seen. It is about the life-changing impact one person can have by simply refusing to write another off, and choosing to encourage instead.

Ian Wright says Kylian Mbappe could go on to be the greatest World Cup player ever. Ian Wright: "Watching him the other day, when I went and watched him live against Iraq, you could tell there's something different about his energy and the fact that he is the leader of the team. Right, Pat? He's the leader of the team. You could see it. You know, almost like he's welcoming people in. You see the celebration with Dembélé, who has won a couple of Ballond'ors or could go on to win another one. He's embracing it. I think that he's gone to that place where he's the leader of this team, and he's not bothered about that. Just maturity as well." Roy Keane: "Is that just maturity as well." Ian Wright: "Yeah. I think so. Roy." Roy Keane:: "Getting a bit older, a bit wiser." Presenter: "He's 27 now. You know, he's been in the game for almost a decade." Patrick Viera: "He's a different player from the last World Cup. He's got more maturity. He understands the game much better, about how he has to bring the players around him because, at the end, he needs those players to perform." Presenter: "He's only two goals behind Messi in terms of World Cup scorers." Ian Wright: "Yeah, but when we look at it, he's won the World Cup when he was 18. He just missed out on penalties in '22, and now he's in another one. You know, we're talking about somebody who could probably go on to be the greatest ever in respect to the World Cup. But at the moment, at 27 now... it seems like he's in exactly the right place where he needs to be right now."

⚖️ | In this video clip, a witness spoke about the death of General Mfazi. He says the General was poisoned and that's how he passed away in 2021. He was investigating serious cases where prominent people and Generals were implicated. "The blood stains that were found in the room were due to him chocking". That's what he says... What a sad way to lose your life just because you were doing your job as a police officer. This family deserves closure and justice.

Adam Sandler says he was focused on the free food he was getting on set of ‘Airheads’ until Brendan went ahead and shot ‘The Mummy’ and he realized he had to be serious. Then Brendan did The Mummy and I was like, ‘Whoa what the hell? That’s a whole other thing. That’s a monster.’ Then he started doing serious movies, and I was always thinking ‘What is he doing? Nick Wright on why LeBron James is leaving the Lakers: “I think it was a perfect storm because I don’t think he planned on leaving a year ago. I think it was the combination of, LeBron I think was really bothered by that Jeanie Buss story from 6 or 7 months ago where they talked about the Lakers basically being over the LeBron experience and when LeBron said I think pretty honestly in the locker room, I thought me and Jeanie had a good relationship like I thought we were good? And that the Lakers didn’t appreciate him I think that was a piece of it. I think you saw some of it when LeBron said to the fans court side, “They put me on the shelf.” They put me on the shelf when after Luka and AR gotten hurt and he had to takeover.” (Via What’s Wright? with Nick Wright)
