One year ago, a new chapter was added to Hyderabad's heritage landscape with the inauguration of the facade lighting of the historic Kacheguda Railway Station. Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India, the project has illuminated this iconic railway station, built in 1916 in Gothic architectural style. With 785 state-of-the-art lighting fixtures, the initiative highlights the station's architectural grandeur and rich legacy. Over the past year, the beautifully illuminated station has emerged as a symbol of heritage conservation, urban beautification, and tourism promotion, enabling citizens and visitors alike to experience the timeless charm of one of Hyderabad's most treasured landmarks. On our second day in India, our delegation travelled by road to visit the Taj Mahal, a journey that was truly worth every moment. As the Taj Mahal came into view, you could hear the collective “wow” from our delegation, a moment that captured just how breathtaking the experience truly was. Standing before one of the Seven Wonders of the World, we were all struck by its beauty, history, and the remarkable craftsmanship that has endured through generations. We also had the opportunity to visit the nearby village, home to descendants of the original builders, who continue to care for and preserve the site today. It was a powerful reminder of how heritage is passed down, protected with pride, and kept alive through responsibility and stewardship. My sincere thanks to our tour guides for thoughtfully bringing this history to life and enriching the experience for us all.

On the birth anniversary of Sangeet Surya Keshavrao Bhosale, the historic theatre bearing his name was inaugurated following its restoration, marking a proud moment for Kolhapur’s rich artistic legacy. Built in 1915 as the Palace Theatre and renamed Sangeet Surya Keshavrao Bhosale Theatre in 1957, this iconic landmark has been restored preserving its heritage character while adding modern facilities. Having nurtured generations of legendary artists and shaped Kolhapur’s identity as Kalapur, the theatre stands as a proud symbol of Maharashtra’s rich theatrical heritage. The heritage structure of Chhatrapati Pramilaraje Hospital, Kolhapur, has been beautifully restored and upgraded with advanced healthcare facilities. A new residential complex for police personnel has been inaugurated in Ichalkaranji, strengthening support for the police force. Kolhapur’s sporting legacy is also set to gain further momentum with the development of a new hockey stadium, adding another dimension to the city's celebrated sporting culture alongside its strong wrestling and traditional talim heritage. A major focus remains on strengthening Kolhapur’s resilience against flood-like situations.
