Shameful and Anti-National! MIM MLAs walking out of the Telangana Assembly while 'Vande Mataram' was being sung is not dissent; it is a blatant insult to our national song, disrespect to Babasaheb Ambedkar, and the spirit of Bharat Mata. Time and again, MIM has shown disrespect towards symbols that unite Indians. The people of Telangana are watching closely, and they know that respect for the nation and its symbols is non-negotiable. I urge the Speaker to take note of this and take action against the erring MIM legislators.

The newly appointed V D Satheesan Government in Kerala denied permission to recite the full version of Vande Mataram during the first Assembly session held today. By cutting short the National Song, the Government has also violated the recent guidelines issued by the Union Home Ministry regarding the proper recitation of Vande Mataram. Congress has once again shown that it is willing to compromise on national sentiments for political or minority appeasement. Vande Mataram is not merely a song; it is an emotion that awakened patriotism and sacrifice in millions of Indians during the struggle for independence. It reveres Bharat Mata as the embodiment of Sri Durga and Sri Saraswati, symbolising strength, wisdom, and devotion to the motherland. A Government run by elected representatives, who take oath to uphold the Constitution of India and its national values, has no moral right to disregard such guidelines and undermine the sentiments attached to Vande Mataram. Any attempt to dilute or selectively curtail it for political appeasement is unfortunate and unacceptable. It is deeply disappointing that a party which once led the freedom movement is now ignoring the very spirit that inspired generations of patriots. The diktat from the Bangla Birodhi Zamindars that MPs cannot say ‘Jai Hind’ or even ‘Vande Mataram’ in Parliament is an attack on the very soul of our democracy. ‘Vande Mataram’ is our national song. ‘Jai Hind’ is the slogan of every Indian. Consequently, all four tax reform bills have now been considered for third reading and passed by both the House of Representatives and the Senate. The next step is for the conference committee which has been set up by the National Assembly to harmonise areas of differences in the two versions of the bills as passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate before transmission to Mr. President for assent.
