I traveled to Gainesville to sit down with new Florida head coach Jon Sumrall. We talked about his journey as a head coach, from Troy to Tulane to now leading one of the biggest brands in college football at Florida. We also talked about why he chose the Gators, the culture he’s trying to build and why empowering players is at the center of everything he does. Sumrall opened up about recruiting in the modern era, navigating the transfer portal and NIL, and what it’s going to take to win at Florida moving forward.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Ron Frost, Head Coach of Nicholls Softball, who shared his unique story and the “why” behind what fuels his passion for college athletics. Coach Ron is a college baseball player turned college softball coach. The Atlanta native was a pitcher for Alabama State Baseball, and after his playing days he pursued coaching within the baseball program. Frost went on to start a travel ball organization in Alabama and work in sports turf management before finding his way to coaching softball at Vernon College Athletics. In 2022, Frost came to Nicholls as an assistant and was named Head Softball Coach earlier this summer. We look forward to sharing highlights of our conversation with Frost over the next few weeks! 𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚: Justin Jefferson on Joe Brady, his former coach at LSU in 2019, getting the head coach job in Buffalo: “He’s a great coach. I feel like he was mostly the reason why I got picked first round, why my hands got better, why a lot of things occurred that (2019) season. I’m happy for him. I’m excited to see how he carries that team and how he controls that team.” (via: USA TODAY Sports)

If a motherf*er is a mediocre coach, please leave his a on the sidelines. He does not deserve to be promoted to head coach. Robert Saleh is a perfect example of why every coach in the NFL is not meant to be a head coach. He’s just a good coordinator. I would even argue that I don’t know if he’s a good coordinator. He’s just good at managing good talent. He does not have the intangibles, and he does not have the voice to uplift this bad Titans team and turn them into a good one. We’re having the same issues we had last year. Every single issue we had last year, we still have this year. That is a sign that you’re NOT the guy for the job!

They bought land in Zimbabwe from the UK now we're transforming it into a business Let's be honest. Buying land in Zimbabwe is exciting. But the moment you put down the money, reality hits your investment is stuck and you don't know how to make it generate income. Today we are 40 kilometers out of Bulawayo, along the Vic Falls Road. He sent us coordinates. That's all. Here's what we delivered for him: ✔️ Aerial drone footage – He saw his land from above, in stunning detail. ✔️ A 5-year development plan – We mapped out exactly what to do, when to do it, and how to scale. Year One to Year Five. Planting, irrigation, infrastructure, expansion. ✔️ A custom, bankable map – Professional zoning for crops, grazing, roads, sheds, and irrigation lines. ✔️ An investment strategy – Capital outlay, projected returns, break-even timeline. No guesswork. Full clarity. ✔️ A strategic roadmap – He now knows exactly where to start, what to prioritize, and how to generate cash flow from month one. What did this mean for him? When he finally comes back home, he's not coming back to nothing. He's coming back to a farm that's already working. Systems in place. A clear plan. Value already created. All we needed from him was coordinates. We did the rest.

Darryn Peterson, who met with the Wizards, told me he was surprised by how much the team focused on getting to know him as a person…not just as a basketball player. We also talked about what he believes is the most underrated part of his game: “My playmaking ability.” Double Take Sports #ForTheDistrict | #NBADraft

This moment clearly meant a lot to Brad Underwood. He credits his wife, Susan for raising the kids while he was busy coaching. "I never coached my kids, I was never around for Tyler." "When it came to sports, he did it all on his own." "To see what he's become as a coach... a profession I didn't want him to get into." "That one's pretty special." #Illini

“I practiced the day I transferred.” Beau Pribula opens up on @NextUpWithAdam about the most emotional moment of his career — leaving Penn State before the playoff run. It wasn’t about chasing NIL. He didn’t plan to leave. Just a brutal decision in a broken system. Now, he’s at Missouri — locked in, leading, and ready to dominate the SEC. We talked transfer portal chaos, NIL pressure, life in Columbia and what it really means to bet on yourself.

POWERFUL: Western Michigan head coach Lance Taylor is receiving major praise for the way he handled the controversial ending against Michigan in his postgame press conference. Despite many fans believing Western Michigan was robbed, Taylor remained extremely calm and refused to make excuses. “I know when I looked up at the clock, it was past zero before we touched it.” Taylor said the commissioner has already reached out and will handle any potential review, while he focused on what his team could control. Fans are calling Taylor a “class act” for how he handled the situation. 👏👏👏
