Constables from the Tambaram Municipal Police Department conducted the raid and seized a large number of cannabis, cannabis chocolates, cannabis oil and cannabis-related materials. The seized drugs have been kept by the police at Maraimalai Nagar police station.

#WATCH | Pollachi, Tamil Nadu | Five people were killed in a road accident near the Nallampalli Junction on the Pollachi–Palani National Highway, after a speeding car crashed into a stationary lorry near Pollachi in Coimbatore district. Four of the deceased were members of the same family from Gurubampalayam near Madukkarai in Coimbatore district. They were identified as Kanagaraj, his wife Narmada and their two daughters Aarthi and Poorani. Police are yet to establish the identity of the fifth victim and are investigating whether the deceased was the driver of the car or another occupant. (Source: Komangalam Police)

After his release, he again fled to Bangladesh. In all three districts of Western Range, some police stations were mapped out and localities were identified, and this exercise was conducted simultaneously... In this entire exercise, a total of 183 overstaying foreign nationals have been identified in all three districts, and they are being handed over to FRRO for deportation and further necessary action. Along with this, 75 such foreigners have already been identified against whom cases are registered and who are on bail by the court. We will ensure that these individuals do not evade court proceedings and do not violate the bail conditions. For this, we will maintain constant vigil and surveillance on them. Additionally, two people were arrested. In this entire process, a total of 260 illegal and overstaying foreign nationals have been apprehended. So far, 25 such landlords have been identified who did not inform the authorities. Action is being taken against all those who commit violations."
