Ethanol blending primary intent is not to reduce cost of fuel but to curb outflow of $ in importing crude and Energy Security. Env, Benefits to farmers and other are ancillary benefits. Most countries dependent of fuel import opt for this route. Cost at pump is of LC.

Both the central and state govts earn from sale of petrol and diesel. While the central tax is fixed, state govts levy different tax percentages with Telangana topping the list.

They are extracting 70-90% more taxes on /liter of Fuel sold compared to ex Govt. This gives them way to loot consumers. This loot is reason they aren't bringing Fuels under GST. Ethanol Policy has many branches rooted in almost every Dept of Govt. Decoding Ethanol is need.

Hence, In E–20 petrol: The price of petrol is about 45 ₹ & the price of Ethanol is about 15 rupees. Then the original price will be about 45+15=60₹/litre😱 so the Taxes are collected from us is about 100% (116₹/litre) of fuel price, wow what a wonderful “Garibon ki Sarkar”

How much ethanol does India import for industrial use? Any data available? Ethanol may be expensive but we don’t have spend $$ on it but for petrol we have to spend $$ Today we may have to import but can’t we increase production? Will not it help sugarcane farmers also?
