MINISTER OF AGRIC ASSISTED ACCIDENT VICTIMS Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, came to the rescue of accident victims in Batati along Bida Makwa road in Niger state. The accident involved medical doctors from the University Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara state. One person died while others sustained injuries. The minister assisted in the rescue operation and provided his official vehicle for the evacuation of the survivors to the hospital. He also provided financial assistance for their treatment. The medical doctors were coming from Maiduguri after attending a programme in Borno state. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi advised drivers to be cautious and always adhere to the highway code.

In a joint operation with the UAEGOV , EU Council and World Health Organization (WHO) , COGAT facilitated the safe passage of 231 patients and caregivers from Gaza via the Kerem Shalom Crossing and the Ramon Airport to receive medical treatment abroad. A total of 800 patients and caregivers in 15 groups crossing out of Gaza for medical treatment in Jordan, Romania, the UAE and the United States. This is the largest number of patients and caregivers who have left through the Kerem Shalom crossing in the recent months. These humanitarian initiatives for Gazan civilians, were conducted by Israel in collaboration with international partners and aid organizations.

The true number of victims cannot be determined while the city remains under Russian occupation. On March 16, 2022, Russian forces bombed the Mariupol Drama Theatre, which had become a shelter for hundreds of civilians. Witnesses estimate that around one thousand people were inside the building at the time. People hiding in the theatre had written the word “CHILDREN” (ДІТИ) in huge letters outside the building to make their presence unmistakable from the air. Russian forces saw this sign – and carried out the strike. We will never forget the victims of that day. The bombing of the Mariupol Drama Theatre is one of the most horrific Russian war crimes. Four years have passed, yet Russia continues to choose terror and atrocities against civilians. Ukraine’s partners must unite to stop this.

I was surprised when I learned from a European friend that their history book did not contain the Nanjing Massacre, one of the most horrific chapters of World War II. The massacre lasted for over 40 days following the capture of Nanjing on December 13, 1937, by Japanese troops, and left more than 300,000 Chinese civilians and unarmed soldiers dead. The names of some Nanjing Massacre victims are displayed in the video. Their pain should not be forgotten, and their names will be remembered. Decades have passed, and many Nanjing massacre survivors and comfort women have perished without getting an appropriate apology. December 13 is China's National Memorial Day for the victims of the Nanjing Massacre. Today, let us pay tribute to the victims and remember this chapter of history.
