Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness (Blizzard, 1995) was such a badass game back in the day. Sure, from today's perspective it looks outdated, the graphics a bit clunky, the rendered cutscenes will at best get a "pass", but for anyone who plated RTS games in the 90s, Warcraft 2 was among the best. There was a time when Blizzard just rolled out incredible games: Warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft, and then World of Warcraft - all four of those had such a massive impact on the gaming culture. It all started with "Warcraft: Orcs & Humans", but I chose the sequel for this post, since I believe this was their real break through game. Hard to believe for modern gamers... but Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness was once peak gaming! Within the period from 1993 to 1999, Warcraft II was the 6th best selling game among all that were released during that time.

Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos... how is this game 24 years old and still looks so epic? I know there are some who argue that they prefered the less "cartoonish" look from the prequels, but to me Warcarft III has aged incredibly well. This feels like the absolute peak of Blizzard's power and domination in the early 2000s. I remember Internet Cafes being packed to the rim with two factions. One were the Counter Strike squads, the other were the Warcraft III dudes. And hearing both games at the same time was glorious! Warcraft III felt like gaming had reached its absolute peak, it was probably THE most talked about and played game in 2002.

The Players Championship is clearly NOT a major. However, it clearly is better than one of them. One of the best Sundays of golf in a long time. We saw everything. We finally got the conditions and setup to really test the players. What a damn day.
