I never knew this was a thing, I always thought most of the time the parents took kids to get ice cream after a game, and the parents all paid for their own kids. I can imagine having a child with food allergies is hard enough when it comes to snack time and the other parents aren’t taking in consideration what your own child’s food limitations are. In order to avoid any mishaps or leaving kids out of this, why doesn’t every parent bring their own snack for their own child, it would make it easier on all and would be more cost effective for the parents that could be struggling to pay for all of this. That’s just my opinion, what are your thoughts on bringing snacks for after sporting events for the kids?

You would be surprised how many times I’ve had this conversation 🤦🏻‍♂️ Not all AAU programs are equal. There are some good ones out there for sure. I benefited as a player by playing for a club. But then… There are some bad ones. And with the bad ones comes a lot of wasted time, money and effort. Empty promises when it comes to development and exposure to college coaches. Some kids on these teams can’t make 10 free throws in a row or dribble with their weak hand but we have them playing 80 games a summer expecting it to magically improve. Then they go back to their HS Coaches as the same player they were the year before but expecting different results. Now kids should make more time for their own skill work as well but some of these programs require 4-8 hours a week at their “practices” plus travel and games every weekend…. Have you seen some of these AAU practices? Skill development is non existent in a lot of these. But isn’t the point to make the kids better? Just get better every summer and have a great high school season then worry about getting recruited. Some of these kids are on their JV teams expecting to get scholarship offers 🤦🏻‍♂️ There are bad trainers and bad coaches out there as well. I understand that. This is just my perspective and experience with the kids that have been in the gym with me over the last 7 years.

I read this very emotional 😭 message from a young man who has been dismissed by the NDC Government and is struggling to survive. Samuel Awuku received this message after his advocacy for the close to 35,000 young Ghanaians whose careers have been unjustifiably terminated by the insensitive NDC Government. All the young man and his fellow victims are asking of us, is for all of us to join the advocacy and seek for mercy on their behalf from the government. It was heartbreaking forr me reading from the young man and I can imagine what him and the 1000s of others are going through. Government still has the chance to request all their appointees to show a human face and recall all these young Ghanaians back to post. All you need to know about Michael Jackson is that he repeatedly defended, on record and on camera, his practice of sharing his bedroom and sometimes his bed with minor children who were not his own. He repeatedly defended this practice, often calling it a “beautiful thing.” Here are just two examples of him doing so on camera. It is not appropriate for a grown man to share a bedroom or bed with a child who is not his own. It is not appropriate for a grown man to have friendships with 12-year-olds. It is not even appropriate for a grown man to have repeated, extended conversations with 12-year-olds who are not their relatives and without their parents present. And don’t give me this “you don’t understand his childhood” BS, which is manipulative. Plenty of people have their childhood stolen away from them and don’t spend years justifying sharing a bedroom/bed with someone else’s kids. This is how sexual predators talk about their inappropriate and often criminal relationships with children.

Schools in Ukraine have long been a target for Russian missiles. Russia destroyed hundreds of them and forced millions of Ukrainian children to study online or underground. Today, I visited one of such underground schools in Zaporizhzhia. Serving as a shelter and a safe space for education, it can accommodate up to 1,000 children safely and operates in two shifts. The frontline is just 30 kilometers away. Russian forces bomb the city every day. And yet, the children are studying. I joined a lesson and spoke with kids about their impressions of the school and their favorite subjects. Some of them are in the second and third grades but have only now met their classmates in person, having studied online until this moment. I am deeply grateful to everyone who builds these schools, to the teachers who continue their mission, and to everyone around the world who helps us protect our people and bring real peace and guaranteed security closer. It is exactly the lack of guaranteed security that forced our children to study underground. This is more than just a sign of Ukrainian bravery and resilience. Our children deserve a childhood without the threat of Russian bombs. And any long-term security strategy must take into account the safe future of these kids.

Just this week alone: ICE agents caused a man to have a seizure while he was holding his baby. ICE agents stormed into a daycare without a warrant. Border Patrol agents arrested a man for allegedly having a hammer and “throwing rocks”… their go-to excuse, the same lie Bovino was just caught using… while other agents climbed into his car with guns and drove off with his one-year-old daughter inside. Let’s be clear: this isn’t edgy, this is depravity. It’s the same warped logic used by extremists who justify terror by claiming their victims “had it coming.” To celebrate dead kids and wish for more is not only inhuman, it’s dangerous, it fuels hatred, inspires more violence, and cheapens the lives of innocent people caught in the crossfire of America’s worst tragedies. A friend of mine shared this clip containing insulting comments about Somali culture, especially uncles. In the clip, the men argue that Somali culture needs to change, describing it as retarded. Their argument rests on three points: (1) Somali uncles regard taking children to a park as embarrassing—one states, "a grown uncle going to the park and taking the kids out to play football is embarrassing, man." An Egyptian man, pictured with his father and hero imam brother in another setting, interjects: "And they're chilling in a café having a tea." The core argument is that, you will not see Somali uncles taking children to the park. (2) These uncles, they uttered, instead pass the time in cafés discussing tribalism. (3) They have passed the troubles of the homeland down to us, the next generation here. Before I address the flaws in their argument, one must contextualise the following observations. First, these men are in their mid-to-late forties. Hence, their metaphorical uncles would be in their seventies. A friend of mine shared this clip containing insulting comments about Somali culture, especially uncles. In the clip, the men argue that Somali culture needs to change, describing it as retarded. Their argument rests on three points: (1) Somali uncles regard taking children to a park as embarrassing—one states, "a grown uncle going to the park and taking the kids out to play football is embarrassing, man." An Egyptian man, pictured with his father and hero imam brother in another setting, interjects: "And they're chilling in a café having a tea." The core argument is that, you will not see Somali uncles taking children to the park. (2) These uncles, they uttered, instead pass the time in cafés discussing tribalism. (3) They have passed the troubles of the homeland down to us, the next generation here. Before I address the flaws in their argument, one must contextualise the following observations. First, these men are in their mid-to-late forties. Hence, their metaphorical uncles would be in their seventies. One last stop in #bali to surprise a community that was in need of a new school with the BIG news that Lance Breitstein 🇺🇸🌎 has donated a new school for them and construction will begin this month and will be finished in a few months! Until now, these kids have sadly not had a place to learn, they just used some extra space in the community center which has been FAR from ideal -- thanks to Lance's generosity, they'll soon have their own school to learn in later this year! This man is taking his 4 kids out to eat at Chik-fil-a while trying to save money single dad style. He developed a hack he wanted to try and see if it worked. The man orders a 30 piece nugget and 5 sandwich buns and 5 waters to drink. The man brings Mio’s so that the waters would be more appetizing. He takes a bun, puts on some of the sauce and 5 chicken nuggets, improvising a chicken sandwich for each of them with some nuggets to spare. Doing it this way with the cost of the Mio’s saved him about $11, would that be enough to make it worth it for you to try this hack or is this just to embarrassing to bother with?

This is a truly heartbreaking 💔 video of a partially blind father struggling to survive with his children after life dealt him a devastating blow. Three years ago, his wife left him and their family to marry another man, leaving him to shoulder the burden of raising the children alone despite his visual impairment and extreme financial hardship. Today, he lives in abject poverty, doing his best to care for his children while battling a condition that continues to affect his sight.
