More arm talent from yesterday... Pierce Herrenbruck, FR, RHP Rend Lake Baseball Super-projectable 6-2/170. Loose arm. Good direction. Repeated delivery. Very good feel for four pitches in the strike zone. FB topped at 90, sat 88-89 for 3 innings. Spun 75-76 curve with good shape and spin, and added a few mph for slurve look to induce chase. Upper-70s CH could be his best pitch of all. Sold it well with good arm speed. One to definitely keep our 👀 on @PBR_JUCO

Incoming freshman INF Jake Fuchs (Westosha Central, 2028) is an athletic prospect with a projectable frame who performed very well at the South Milwaukee event. Fuchs works with high hands and a narrow set-up into an up-and-down stride, gaining ground toward the pitcher. His swing is well-sequenced with rhythm and feel for the barrel, leading to easy extension through the ball. His defense was smooth with quick feet and soft hands, showing range and clean actions. Jacob Odle is one of the most underrated pitching prospects in baseball. From a 6'5" frame, he gets down to a 6.2 ft. release and -4.8 VAA thanks to a low arm angle. The four-seam is elite, averaging 97 mph at 17 iVB. The only big league comps are Eury Perez and Garret Crochet. A 14th-round pick in '23, Odle underwent TJ and missed all of '24. He wasn't super sharp in his '25 return (51.2 innings between CPX and A, 28% K and 18% BB), but that's to be expected returning from elbow surgery. Enjoyed my look at Canadian LHP Sean Duncan (Vanderbilt Baseball) this morning. Across 3 innings, he allowed 2 ER on 3 hits (one of which was a bunt) with 7 Ks and 1 BB. Lean, high-waisted frame (6’3” 180-lbs) with plenty of projection remaining. Fairly loose delivery, attacks out of a 3/4 slot. FB sat 90-93 and topped out at 94 with life through the zone. High-spin pitch, played well in the top-half of the zone thanks to its riding life. 7 whiffs with the heater today. The money-maker with Duncan is his low-80s SL. Showed the ability to manipulate its shape. Flashed ample—and sharp—sweep at times, and at others took on more of a two-plane look with a similar degree of teeth. No doubt plus potential! Particular tough look for LHH. Garnered 5 whiffs with it today. Flipped in a couple of curveballs in the low-80s and tried to turn over a CH or two. CB could be a fine third pitch down the road. 12 total whiffs on the day. Duncan’s front side will sometimes fly open, which will lead to misses up and/or out. Labored a bit during the 3rd and his command became more scattered. Stayed off the barrel for the most part. A lot to like now and even more to dream on. Expect the entire arsenal to tick up—both in terms of velocity and dynamism—as Duncan continues to mature physically. Looks the part of a starter professionally, I would put him in the 3rd-to-5th round bucket this July.

RHP Matt Ager (UC Santa Barbara Baseball) this spring will headline an outstanding UCSB pitching staff. Jumped into the rotation full time last spring and was fantastic, pitching his way to a 3.12 ERA with 115 K to just 26 BB across 92.1 IP. Was an All-Big West First Team selection and earned a spot on Team USA. Great frame at 6’5” and 210-pounds with some thickness in the lower-half. Easy operation without much effort, attacks from a high-3/4 slot. FB sits in the 92-95 MPH range, regularly touches 96. Averages almost 2400 rpm on the pitch and it shows riding life through the zone. At its best when located in the top-half of the zone. 55-grade offering right now. Ager’s calling card is his low-80s SL that in 2023 held opposing hitters to a .156 average and generated a 41% miss rate. He has advanced feel for the pitch and it has plenty of tight sweeping action. Comfortably a 60 right now. He’s also flashed a mid-70s CB that has big shape. With another strong spring in the rotation, Ager will be well on his way to a top-2 round selection.

The now six-foot-five right-hander has already experienced the Junior Future Games (2023) and Super Sophomore Games (2024), and if all goes well this spring, he should be in consideration for this year’s Future Games team. Ranked 3rd in the state and 192nd nationally, Hicks has a frame that oozes projection with a quick, compact arm stroke into a three-quarter slot. He hides the ball well and has the arm speed that allows his fastball to get on hitters quickly. Some of his heaters run arm-side more than others, and the ones that do give right-handed hitters issues. The fastball has been up to 88.8 MPH on Trackman, and we saw that velocity upheld in-game during the fall tournament circuit. Hicks’ low-80s slider is a swing-and-miss weapon with late movement, and the two pitches are a strong foundation. This past summer Hicks paced all freshman arms with 95 strikeouts (24th among all pitchers) in 65.1 innings pitched. The 95 strikeouts from a freshman pitcher was the most since Blaine Harpenau’s 101 total in the 2017-2018 season. Overall, Hicks made 11 starts for the Eagles and went 6-2 with a 1.39 ERA and a .177 batting average allowed. Big things are ahead for this young arm. More on Brady ⤵️
