Honouring the spirit of Swadeshi Craftsmanship of the Daughters of West Bengal. I am delighted to share that the "Birbhum Khadi Dal" has achieved a remarkable feat by crafting a massive National Flag, measuring an impressive 30 feet by 20 feet. This magnificent flag, created entirely from pure Khadi, stands as a testament to the dedication and skill of 20 Women Weavers who worked tirelessly for an entire month to complete this masterpiece. This symbol of our pride was handed over to the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), and has been hoisted at the Maithon Dam to mark their Foundation Day, serving as a beacon of inspiration for all who visit. I commend the Women Weavers for their perseverance and their contribution to the 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives. I have also encouraged our District Magistrates, Sub-Divisional Officers and BDOs across all districts to procure our National Flags from such talented artisans to promote our local heritage. Let us continue to support our grassroots weavers and carry our Tiranga with pride.

The basilica contains the world’s largest collection of contemporary ecclesiastical art, including vast mosaics, stained glass, and sculptures. On the momentous occasion of Independence Day, I want to extend my deepest appreciation and heartfelt salute to our brave personnel who have accomplished an extraordinary feat against all odds. Despite extremely adverse weather conditions, IG Coastal Security successfully hoisted our National Flag at Jambudwip - the southernmost point of West Bengal in the magnificent Bay of Bengal. This remarkable hoisting is part of a monumental special drive to unfurl the Tricolour across all 54 inhabited and 48 uninhabited islands of the Sundarbans. The special feat has been successfully achieved due to the wonderful synergy between the Forest Department, BSF and the Indian Coast Guard. To brave the fierce elements and hoist our National Flag in the remote & challenging terrains of the Sundarbans, reflects unmatched courage, unwavering patriotism and absolute dedication to our Motherland. Thank you to every single Officer and Personnel involved in this historic mission. You have made West Bengal and the entire nation immensely proud. Jai Hind 🇮🇳 Vande Mataram 🇮🇳
