Thierry Henry 08/09 games vs Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Sevilla, Villarreal (La Liga top 6): Henry scored 11 goals, Eto'o scored 6 6-2 title decider at the Bernabeu. Henry scored the equalizer, won the freekick for the lead, scored to make it 4-2, threatened outside of goals. Eto'o did almost nothing in 90 mins. Henry also had superior g/a per 90 in La Liga overall. Henry scored the only goal in the first away leg against Lyon which was 1-1 - that's a huge goal. In the 5-2 second leg he scored the first goal and assisted the 2nd, so the 2 goals that gave them breathing room vs a good Lyon side. Also did well vs Bayern in the 4-0. It just took me to the point where he is more complete in terms of the most important part of the game. When the season began, many doubted Arteta's ability to win a trophy. His tactics and decisions faced staunch criticism, and even I questioned if he was right for the job. Critics even questioned how he dresses, walks and behaves on the touchline. He is too emotional, some said. Why is he always agitated? He is too animated. He doesn't inspire his players enough. The role is too big for him, others loudly bleated. Then came the 4-match blip, during which Arsenal were knocked out of two tournaments, and the 10-point gap was closed. The epitaphs on Arteta's grave were already erected. He has bottled it again. He must be sacked. He is not fit for the job. They described Pep and others as perfect and how much better they were than Arteta. Last Monday, we all saw Arsenal place one hand on the Premiership trophy, and I watched from the Emirates as Arsenal qualified for our first Champions League final in 20 years. Even in this moment of clear history unfolding before our eyes, some still maintain that Arsenal should have scored 5 goals, not just the solitary goal at the Emirates. Last Monday, we all saw Arsenal place one hand on the Premiership trophy, and I watched from the Emirates as Arsenal qualified for our first Champions League final in 20 years. Even in this moment of clear history unfolding before our eyes, some still maintain that Arsenal should have scored 5 goals, not just the solitary goal at the Emirates. Arteta is still not good enough. They say oh he will still lose the final and bottle the league with 3 games to go. In all this, Arteta has remained focused. He knows that the only opinion that truly matters is the Board's. They set his KPIs. They get briefings from him on the endgame. His tunnel vision will see him challenge for the trophy and possibly win the Champions League for the first time in Arsenal's 139-year history in Budapest. He will most likely end a 22-year Premier League drought as well. That will be his legacy. They can hate him and find all the faults, but one day, a statue of Arteta will be erected at the Emirates Stadium, and all the naysayers will have is the bitter aftertaste of their bile and hate in their mouths. A story for kids and parents about Jeff Malott who scored a pretty nice goal here against the Sharks: We were recruiting Jeff when I was still coaching at Cornell. Benny our other assistant liked him as a player, but he hadn't yet jumped off the page. He had average production in the AJHL as a 19 year old and was going back for his 20 year old age-out year in junior hockey. At the beginning of the season, Jeff with his playing schedule couldn't get out for a visit but his parents were driving distance so they drove out to see campus and meet us as a coaching staff. On that visit, we absolutely fell in love with his parents - they were such great people. I cannot understate enough how much of a positive effect their visit had on our staff. Jeff had a pretty good start to his 20 year old junior year. Our research on his character was off the charts and meeting his parents we were blown away as well. And even though he hadn't yet proven himself in junior hockey (only 6 goals and 20 points in 53 games the prior year in the AJHL), we offered him a spot in our program. At worst, he would be a potential captain. Turns out his 20 year old year he scored 60 points, he lead his team to an AJHL championship (he also won a junior B championship a few years earlier), and became the captain at Cornell for the team that was number one in the country before Covid canceled the season. He signed a pro contract out of Cornell but only played games in his first season in the AHL and the ECHL. But with his character he just kept working, was a great leader, and willed his way to the NHL where he's scoring goals like this for the LA Kings. Benny's eye for talent is incredible seeing something in him even though he hadn't yet popped in junior hockey and he wasn't heavily recruited. And his character along with his family's character was just off the charts. I share this story because like we say all the time - everyone has a different path to high level hockey. And the players that are resilient, outwork everyone, and stay the course even if they don't get the result in the time they want it are the ones who put themselves in the best position to achieve their dream. And for the parents - we recruit and evaluate you too, not just your kids. Any college coach will tell you that they've crossed kids names off their list based on the behavior of a parent. But it goes the other way too. We fell in love with Jeff's parents and that absolutely played a role in our decision to offer him a spot in our program. Seeing this goal, there are a lot of people who couldn't be happier for Jeff and his family.

FT Frankfurt 0 - 2 Spurs This was an extremely competent, controlled performance by the team. Was it ever in doubt? 🤣 We are in the top 4 in the Champions League unbelievable you just cannot criticise our European performances. Look at the calibre of the clubs below us. We now have home advantage in the last 16 & 1/4 finals. The club has earned big money finishing this high in the league and with it automatic qualification for the last 16. Now go and spend it. In the last 3 games, we’ve moved the ball much quicker and been better in transitions than we have all season. It was good to see Muani finally turning up tonight with the goal and his approach play. If he’s staying, let’s see more of this. Odobert has played very well and was unlucky not to be on the score sheet. Simons grew stronger and stronger as the game went on he had a big influence in the 2nd half it was Just his final ball that let him down ,He really should have scored in the 1st half . I thought Gray gave a mature performance with Sarr in the middle. Udogie, Palhinha, Danso, & Spence did well defensively. Despite Cuti making a mistake for Hugo Larsen’s effort, he led by example often in attack. Solanke came on as a sub and ran onto a through ball, beat the defender, and finished beautifully into the bottom right was yet another #UCL clean sheet Which meant that Vicario has got the Golden Glove of the qualifiers. Happy days at last for us long-suffering fans. Just enjoy the moment. #COYS 🤍💙

🔴JK🌟Was LIVE | 6.28.26 | 4 hours As one of the lucky ones who was able to watch JK’s four-hour live last night, I wanted to share what I took away from it. Fair warning: this is a long one… but he did give us four hours of content. 😅 Read if you’d like! First, and most importantly, Jungkook wants us to see him for who he is: a responsible adult who is capable of making his own decisions. He wants people to stop questioning every choice he makes, every word he says, and every aspect of how he lives his life. He is happy. He told us himself, “I’m so good.” He takes his health and well-being seriously, and he knows what works for him. He works hard, and like many adults, enjoys winding down sometimes with good food, alcohol, or both. He’s naturally nocturnal and thrives on the schedule that suits him. He doesn’t need unsolicited advice about how he should sleep or live. After the show, he went out to eat with the members, before returning to his hotel to film the dance challenge, which took over 50 takes. It was another reminder of how much pride he takes in his work. He always wants to show us, and himself, the very best he can do. Right now, he’s immersed in dance. He’s studying locking, krumping, and other house styles because he genuinely wants to become an even better dancer. He wants keep sharing dance challenges with us, because that’s one of the ways he can give us something new right now. He said he doesn’t actually listen to music that often, unless it is connected to a dance video, but when he does, he’s been enjoying a lot of music from his fellow idols, especially girl groups. He even shared a few songs he’s been playing on repeat lately. He’s also been enjoying anime, talking about several series he’s been watching and how excited he is for the next season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. He spoke honestly about learning English. He has a teacher, and he wants to improve, but it’s difficult and he simply doesn’t have enough time to devote to it. At the same time, he made it clear, again, that he doesn’t want people constantly asking or telling him to speak English. As he has said so many times: “I don’t speak English. I’m Korean.” If you choose to watch his lives, stop asking for it! One of the most candid moments was hearing him talk about big brand events. He admitted that they make him uncomfortable, saying Taehyung loves them and is much better at them. Small talk doesn’t come naturally to him, and he gets shy with all the eye contact. But, like the professional he is, he has learned how to do it well, because it’s part of his job, and because he genuinely appreciates the brands he works with, speaking warmly once again about his Calvin Klein collaboration. And then there’s what has always been part of Jungkook’s core: singing. He simply loves to sing. He loves exploring his voice, learning new techniques, experimenting with different genres, and constantly improving. He watches YouTube vocal tutorials to keep growing. Karaoke isn’t just fun for him, it’s practice, exploration, and another way to become a better artist. Listening to him sing throughout the live was a gift. Beautiful, playful, effortless, and unmistakably Jungkook. His performance of “Into the Sun” was my personal highlight, with perfectly placed vocal runs, delicate high notes, and emotion woven into every line. This is only a small part of what Jungkook shared with us over those four hours. I’m incredibly grateful that he gave us so much of his time, his thoughts, his laughter, and his music. My biggest takeaway is this: if you choose to log into his lives, then let him live. Keep your cringy comments to yourself. He doesn’t want to see them, and neither do we.
