Gonzaga's Mario Saint-Supery showed why he's got a chance to have a big sophomore leap vs Denmark today The 6-4 Spanish guard went for 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals on 6-10 FG and 3-6 from deep in just 17 minutes of action MSS had a nice freshman season at Gonzaga, and with more on-ball responsibilities a big jump could project him favorably for NBA Teams next season He became a bit more of a off-ball player last season as the year progressed but again has so much on-ball juice as a playmaker and has grown as a shooter, but must find his at the rim footing again.

Football is the most complex sport that has many rules that the majority of fans (or sometimes even commentators) don't fully understand. I've seen a lot of misinformation and confusion last night and today regarding what an eligible receiver is and what intentional grounding is. What is intentional grounding? (see the 1st picture) If the ball is thrown to the vicinity of an eligible receiver, there is no penalty. So the next question is what makes someone an eligible receiver? (see the 2nd picture): - Anyone off the Line of Scrimmage - The farthest man to the left of the players on the L.O.S. - The farthest man to the right of the players on the L.O.S. The offense must have at least 7 players on the L.O.S. (so they cannot have more than 4 off the L.O.S.). Therefore, there are usually 6 eligible receivers in any given play (the 4 players off the L.O.S. plus the farthest man on the L.O.S. to the left and to the right). Yes, the Quarterback is an eligible player. On the Lions backed up play, Goff throws the ball toward (and in the vicinity of) two eligible players. Debate all you want about his Tight End being in the vicinity, but his RB is right in front of him and the ball almost hits him. A player running a route or blocking has absolutely nothing to do with whether he's eligible or not. There is clearly no Grounding on that play. In the 3rd Quarter, the Vikings get called for Grounding simply because there's no eligible player within 10 yards of where the ball lands. These are pretty clear cut plays.

WATCH: Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Keiran Moore, Falsely Claims “Over 3.5 Million” COVID Jabs Administered from the “Last Booster Dose” in the Province. In a recent interview with CityNews Toronto this past Friday, Ontario CMOH Kieran Moore was asked about “very poor” COVID-19 booster uptake in the province. Moore claimed that “we've had over 3.5 million” on the “last booster dose.” Upon fact-checking Moore's claim, it's completely fabricated. The latest booster dose is booster #7, and according to Ontario Public Health's most recent September 10, 2023, Vaccine Uptake Surveillance Report, only 5,727 booster #7 shots have been administered. When you add up all the booster doses from #3 through to #7, there have indeed been just over 3.6 million booster doses administered like Moore claimed. However, it's important to note that this count spans two years, from the fall of 2021 to the present. It's also important to acknowledge that this doesn't necessarily mean 3.5 million individuals received the shot; it represents the total number of doses administered, and it's reasonable to assume that a significant number of the same individuals have received multiple shots. Ontario Public Health’s latest report also reveals that as of September 10, 2023, only “4.1% of individuals 5 years of age and older who completed their primary series have received any booster dose in the previous 6 months.” Moore appears to be manipulating both statistics and language in an attempt to convey the idea of increased COVID-19 vaccine booster uptake among Ontarians. Nonetheless, the data unequivocally shows that vaccine uptake in the province of Ontario has stagnated since February of 2022, with minimal interest at this juncture. I've been asked to review and provide thoughts on the question of a potential targeting call in the Hardin-Simmons Cowboy Football / UMHB Football🏈 #d3fb game Saturday. I have synced up two videos -- one from UMHB's broadcast and one posted by In The (D3FB) Huddle contributor Riley Conlee (Riley Conlee) (if he could provide credit to the videographer of it, I'd appreciate it). There is a full-speed view and a 20% speed view of the central action included in the video. To evaluate targeting, we have to review both aspects of the rule to see what, if anything, qualifies. I want to provide the entire set of rules (9-1-3 & 9-1-4): "Targeting and Making Forcible Contact With the Crown of the Helmet ARTICLE 3. No player shall target and make forcible contact against an opponent with the crown of their helmet. The crown of the helmet is the top segment of the helmet; namely, the circular area defined by a 6-inch radius from the apex (top) of the helmet. This foul requires that there be at least one indicator of targeting (See Note 1 below). When in question, it is a foul. (Rule 9-6) (A.R. 9-1-3-I) Targeting and Making Forcible Contact to Head or Neck Area of a Defenseless Player ARTICLE 4. No player shall target and make forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent (See Note 2 below) with the helmet, forearm, hand, fist, elbow or shoulder. We need to start at Note 2 to see if Kyle Brown qualified here as a "defenseless player." If not, then 9-1-4 would not apply to him here. Kyle was not a receiver or a passer per se here -- he was clearly a runner downfield and was not in the grasp of any player. As a result, he was not "defenseless" by definition. That means that the only way targeting can be called here is if the provisions of Rule 9-1-3 were violated. Rule 9-1-3 is VERY specific about the initial requirement before we can go to the question of a required indicator: "No player shall target and make forcible contact against an opponent with the crown of their helmet." The crown of the helmet is "the top segment of the helmet, specifically the circular area with a 6-inch radius from the apex (top) of the helmet." In the videos, we see a couple of telling signs. First, Kyle appeared to actually lower HIS helmet as the contact became imminent, which is something coaches advise against for a variety of reasons, including self-preservation. But what is telling is that the UMHB defender attempted to peel off as he saw the angle of the contact he was heading toward with Brown. Specifically, he appeared to end up perpendicular to Brown, perhaps catching Brown's facemask enough to cause the helmet to fly. Yet, that contact was NOT with the defender's crown. As a result, since Brown was not defenseless by rule and because the crown of the helmet was not used for forcible contact to the head/neck area, the picking up of the flag by the officials was appropriate. That said, I spoke with an official who reviewed the videos without commentary and who landed in the same spot as I did concerning the above. They stated that if immediate replay review was available, crews will generally throw the flag and go to review (here, it likely would have been overturned by review, preserving the defender's eligibility). Since the ASC is not providing the on-field replay review yet, the officials' decision would have impacted the game by ejecting a player for the last 6 minutes of the first half until a Halftime review would have been available. For those wondering about how replay is impacting the game, I think this is a good reminder of the nuances it can impact.

Brayden Burries vs. Kansas 20 points (6/10 FG | 2/4 3pt | 6/6 FT) 12 rebounds 5 assists 1 steal 0 turnovers (I counted 1 turnover but box score says 0) Burries' defense really stood out to me against Kansas. He's a smart team defender with a high level of spacial awareness, consistently stunting and recovering, digging at ball handlers, and in the right spot in rotations. He does a good job staying in front of ball handlers and walling up around rim without fouling. Burries is just a really smart player on both ends. There were several instances of him setting his defender up and waiting until they turned their head or adjusted their position, and he quickly got down hill. I think there's potential for him to be able to attack the rim from a standstill without a screen. He showed a few pocket passes to bigs out of P&R, and I think he's quick and strong enough to turn the corner against most P&R coverages. He has good shooting indicators - 46.3% on 82 non-rim twos (78.9% unassisted rate), 8.1 3pt attempts per 100 possessions, and 83.5% on free throws on 79 attempts in 20 games against top 100 opponents (77.3% overall on 119 attempts for the season). Processing indicators are good too - 2.9 steal% and 2.1 assist to turnover ratio. Anecdotally, he may be the best player on a top 3 team in the country. Burries looks like a big time prospect, and it will be difficult for me to keep him out of my personal top 10. He's a bit of a tweener guard, but I think at worst he's a secondary creator with primary upside. I will be paying close attention to his athro measurements at the combine.

Thought for today…. I would like to thank Alexander Isak for his behaviour and forcing to leave Newcastle. I would also like to thank Liverpool for the duplicitous way they unsettled him. Why FFS you may ask? Hear me out… 1. The bloke is not a team player as he showed last season with his performances at the start and end of last season and we only want fully committed players at our club. 2. At some point due to the corrupt PSR rules we were going to have to sell a big player to enable us to move to the next level. It might as well be one with the lack of character and morality that he has shown. 3. Isak and Liverpool have handed us a massive windfall that has the potential to transform the club over the next few seasons. Without this we would not be able to move forward as quickly and we would all be waiting for the axe to fall on another star player. That is less likely now. 4. We now, potentially,have the strongest squad in my living memory (with the possible exception of Keegan’s Entertainers but who knows they may surpass even them) 5. The new CEO and Sporting Director (both of whom are top class if reports are correct) will be walking into a club that is united from top to bottom and in a very strong financial position. A club that has qualified for the Champions League in two of the last 3 season and won its first domestic trophy in 70 years. A club that is clearly on the up. 6. PIF will hopefully have learned lessons from what happened this summer and even though it was a little late they acted in the last few weeks and made sure the end to they transfer window could be deemed a big success despite the circumstances (next up get the CEO and Sporting Director in and announce a new stadium) 7. Eddie Howe, Andy Howe, Jamie Reuben and Steve Nickson have cemented their reputations. In particular Eddie’s handling of the whole Isak affair has been a masterclass in diplomacy, hard work, and man management - we truly have an absolute gem and a gentleman leading the team. 8. In summary we have a club that is united from top to bottom, in a healthy financial position, a much stronger squad with players committed to the club, new top class senior personnel to be added very shortly, a second Champions League season to look forward to and hopefully more silverware. Absolutely spot on about Amorim this, and I said exactly the same after the match last night!! - There is NEVER a Plan B, it's so fucking annoying when the game is there to be won late on at home under the lights of Old Trafford and what did the manager do? - He took off a defender for another defender in the 88th minute at 1-1 and stayed in a back five playing the same slow and negative way...I don't fucking get it!! We had Mainoo and Lacey on the bench, we could of gone to a back four and gone for the win, it's just ridiculous!! Jason Wilcox, Omar Berrada or Jim Ratcliffe, hell even all of them, needs to pull their finger out of their arse and come out of that huge dark cloud their clearly hiding in and speak to him because it's not good enough at all, you need to be able to adapt to certain in-game situations but all he does is stick to one way, we seen it vs. Everton as well when they went down to 10 men after just 13 minutes... he changed nothing... stayed in a back five, he has showed last two winnable home games zero fucking desire to go and win either game, unbelievable! 🚨 Weigh in 12 🚨 Before #FrankWalks, Frank had not been under 350 pounds in over 20 years and was 500+ pounds in 2016. Here is his monthly progress since we started walking (369 days in a row): Before #FrankWalks : 383 pounds Weigh in 1: 373 pounds Weigh in 2: 352 pounds Weigh in 3: 343 pounds Weigh in 4: 340 pounds Weigh in 5: 339 pounds Weigh in 6: 333.8 pounds Weigh in 7: 331 pounds Weigh in 8: 323.8 pounds Weigh in 9: 319.8 pounds Weigh in 10: 324 pounds Weigh in 11: 330 pounds Here are the results from weigh in 12: ◦327 pounds: Frank has lost 56 pounds since we started walking ◦Blood sugar: Levels remain in the green zone for the longest stretch of Frank’s adult life, this will add years to his life … down from ~10% A1C to 6.8% ◦Diet: Diet continues to be the greatest hurdle. Stress eating and meal choices must improve along with less soda. This is Frank vs a lifetime of bad habits. It’s hardest when he’s home alone, that’s the biggest damage zone Last month was a setback with a six pound increase. It was his second straight month gaining back weight. It would have been easy to slide deeper into bad old habits and completely lose momentum. Everyone’s support and encouragement after the disappointing Weigh In 11 was fantastic. Thank you Frank was upset that he let fans down but was determined to turn it around. The setback doesn’t matter, the response does. And Frank responded with a solid month, getting back to into the green. He has now lost weight in 10/12 weigh ins. His endurance, flexibility, agility, and energy improve everyday. But what Frank is most proud of is the always increasing # of walkers who have started their own health journeys. It blows Frank’s mind that he’s gone from getting picked on in school for his weight, to becoming an inspiring fitness influencer. Frank also passed one year of walking with no days off on Friday. I couldn’t be more proud of his commitment. We still have a long way to go, but we are BACK ON TRACK. DIET DIET DIET! Anudder weigh in in the books
