The Waqf Amendment Bill is a direct assault on the principles of justice, fairness, and the religious autonomy enshrined in the Constitution. Today, the ideas of equality and fairness are being challenged by the forces seeking to divide and marginalize. This is not just a legislative proposal. It's a test of our commitment to justiceโ€”a contest between fairness and discrimination, the principle of our constitution and the politics of exclusion. The proposed amendments directly violate Articles 14, 25 and 26 of the Constitution. An issue that deeply concerns me is allowing non-Muslim members into the Waqf board and council. As the Minister said, this is not like the Defence Ministry, which is a government property. This is not government property; it's governed by the Muslim law. My concern is if the government is saying it can appoint people, what is the guarantee that it will not appoint RSS-BJP people to the Waqf board, which will create permanent tensions? What is the guarantee that you will not appoint non-Hindu members to the Hindu endowment board, non-Sikh members to the Gurudwara committees, or non-Christian members to the church management? The government does not want this country to move forward. They don't want to talk about education, employment, economic growth, social justice, harmony or science, technology, and artificial intelligenceโ€”the very engines that will drive the nation forward. When people oppose the government, its leaders say, 'Go to Pakistan, go to Pakistan.' The Modi government should remember that when Indian Muslims had a choice to choose between India and Pakistan, they chose this country as their land. This imposition is not acceptable to us. Listen to Jothimani ji in Lok Sabha as she speaks on the egregious Waqf Amendment Bill and how it's going to sow the seeds of poison and destroy the harmony in India.

What is unfolding in this country should alarm every Kenyan of goodwill. Reports that rogue immigration officials, allegedly acting on instructions from senior figures in government, facilitated the acquisition of Kenyan passports by individuals linked to Sudanโ€™s conflict including associates and family members of Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), are not just disturbing. They are explosive. Mr. President William Ruto, this is not a small administrative lapse. This strikes at the heart of our sovereignty, our security, and the integrity of our Republic. Kenyan citizenship is sacred. A passport is not a political favour. It is not a tool for shielding foreign actors. It is a sovereign instrument issued in the name of the people of Kenya. Allowing internationally controversial figures, or their proxies, to quietly obtain our passports is a betrayal of public trust. You are briefed daily by the National Intelligence Service (NIS). So I ask, did the NIS inform you that individuals linked to a foreign armed conflict were being processed for Kenyan passports? If they did not inform you, then we are staring at something even more frightening, that our intelligence services are either compromised, captured, or asleep at the wheel. Are we now a safe haven for those fleeing accountability? Is our immigration system up for sale? Who authorised this? Who benefited? I demand: 1. A full public disclosure of all passports issued under this arrangement. 2. Immediate suspension and investigation of all officers involved. 3. A parliamentary inquiry to establish whether executive authority was abused. Kenya must never become a laundering ground for international actors seeking legitimacy. Leadership is about protecting the nation, not exposing it to global shame and diplomatic fallout. The people of Kenya are watching.

Yes, indeed, this is lawlessness by any standard. Even by banana republic standards, this is still lawlessness. Your country has a constitution, it has a government, it has a police service, and it has a ruling party. I am sure you can see that some of the people there are actually wearing ruling party T-shirts. It is lawless regardless of whoever does it. It is an embarrassment to South Africa as a country, what you are doing and what you are encouraging people to do. Your country has an immigration service. If people are in your country illegally, they should be arrested and deported through lawful processes. You do not go around destroying property, tearing down markets, and attacking people. It is illegal regardless of whoever does it. It is not illegal because I have said so. It is illegal because the laws of your country make it so. This is vigilantism, pure and simple, and it is tainting the reputation of South Africa, not only across Africa but across the world. If you have got satellite television in your home, you can see that these actions are being reported everywhere. It is not good for your country. This kind of barbarism undermines the rule of law, fuels division, and damages South Africaโ€™s standing as a constitutional democracy. It is the actions of a few that are tainting the reputation of many. The average South African is not mindless like this. They respect the law, and they respect the fact that among them, in their communities, there are people from other countries. If those people are in the country illegally, you report them and the law takes its course through proper processes of arrest and deportation. You do not descend into mob justice, lawlessness, and destruction. That is not who South Africans are, and it must not be normalised.
