Thank you Chicago for helping the Texas flood areas! PAWS Chicago - DISASTER RELIEF: “Late last night, our first of two transports from Texas arrived, bringing pets from shelters affected by the July 4 flash floods in the Texas Hill Country. These 22 dogs were in shelters before the floods began, and by bringing them to Chicago, those shelters now have more room to help the pets who were displaced by the storms and reunite lost pets with their families. Yesterday, these pups were flown into Nebraska on a Wings of Rescue flight from Concho Valley PAWS, a rescue organization based in San Angelo, Texas. Our volunteers were standing by to greet them and begin the final leg of their journey-driving more than 500 miles to bring them safely to our Medical Center. Today, they'll be seen by our vets and start the care they need to become adoption ready here in Chicago. And tomorrow, we will receive another transport flight from Austin Pets Alive!—a rescue organization that has been on the ground since the flooding began, supporting overwhelmed Texas shelters in the hardest-hit communities.” I hope and pray they all find their happy and loving forever homes.

We’re seeing real progress in our work to help people move off the streets and into stability, and to make neighborhoods cleaner and safer for families. Right now, tent and encampment numbers are at the lowest level we’ve recorded. We’re also making progress moving people out of RVs and into housing: RV numbers are at their lowest since we began counting, down nearly 20% since the last count, and 47 households have already been housed through the program. We’re also reconnecting people with family and support systems through Journey Home, which helped 44 people return to loved ones in February—the highest monthly total since 2022. By using every tool available—from housing to treatment to reunification—we’re starting to turn things around. There’s still a lot of work ahead, and we’re going to keep building on this progress.

NEW: Man falls from the basket of a hot air balloon after it caught on fire in Zacatecas, Mexico. The man was seen hanging onto a rope as the balloon continued to go higher in the sky. The incident unfolded when the basket caught fire on the ground. In a final act of selflessness, the man was able to help the other two escape, but he unfortunately got tangled in the rope. Still tangled, the hot air balloon began to rise into the sky. The man, who sadly fell to his de*th, was identified as 40-year-old Luicio "N," according to police. Police found her with a heavy weightlifting barbell across her throat and neck. Kless had been having an affair with a Central American woman. The owner Hassan is said to have been attacked by goons on his his way home last week where he identified one of them. He decided to press assault charges on me criminal he identified nicknamed Abbas who is leading a dangerous and notorious bodaboda gang in Kisii that has been nicknamed Green Army. This morning, the gang, using County Government garbage tracks they transported garbage and raw sewage, poured it into this premise in broad daylight, gave death threats to the staff and left. The gang works and is being protected by Kisii County outgoing governor Simba aRat. This is the level of IMPUNITY and LAWLESSNESS in this country! Back in Kisii, I am told you can't report any member of this gang to anh law enforcer since they won't arrest them. Why did the NCDAO try to perpetuate the narrative that they were collaborating with federal authorities and not actually the subject of their investigation into the coverup of Sandra Birchmore’s murder? DA Michael Morrissey recently doubled down on the suicide ruling in Sandra Birchmore’s death, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. So why then was Morrissey so desperate to have his Office, including his spokesperson at the time—David Traub, who left his position at the DA’s Office not long after the announcement of Matthew Farwell’s indictment by the Feds—push the narrative that this case was not in fact another instance of his Office and its investigators being under federal investigation for their involvement in covering up murders involving Police Officers? Probably because of DA Michael Morrissey’s consciousness of guilt. He knows how bad it looks—whereby mere months after the Feds handed over 3k+ pages of Touhy evidence exculpating Karen Read and inculpating third party culprits in Officer John O’Keefe’s death, the Feds swoop in and indict a cop for murder in another case his Office seemingly covered up. Yeah—I’d say that looks pretty bad and doesn’t bode well for the prospects of Michael Morrissey or the future of his Office. Beachgoers Urged to Learn Rip Current Safety After Child Rescued Beachgoers are being reminded to keep a close eye on their children while enjoying the ocean and to take the time to learn about the dangers of rip currents. Understanding how rip currents work—and knowing the safest way to escape one—can make the difference between life and death. Fortunately, a child involved in this incident was safely rescued. A huge shoutout goes to the lifeguards who put their lives on the line every day to protect the public. Their training, quick response, and dedication save countless lives each year. Special recognition also goes to @onestonedhector, who jumped in to help before this footage was captured. Although a wave separated him from the child, his willingness to act deserves to be acknowledged. As for me, I gave everything I had. I had been at the beach since 6:00 a.m. playing soccer, swimming, skating, and staying active throughout the day. By the time this happened around 4:00 p.m., I was completely exhausted and dealing with severe cramps in both calves. Had I been well-rested, I know I could have reached the child faster and helped bring him to shore more easily. Let this serve as a reminder: educate yourself, educate your children, respect the power of the ocean, and never underestimate rip currents. A few minutes of preparation can save a life.

Bob Dylan covering The Pogues' 'A Rainy Night in Soho' at Outlaw festival in Phoenix 🎶⁠ Against a dark sky, Bob Dylan’s infamous rasp can be heard softly gliding through the song, as a reddened backdrop ignites him on the stage. The cover was the 13th and final song that the musician played during his set. This wasn’t the only song Dylan covered in his performance at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre. He also played Axe and the Wind by George ‘Wild Child; Butler, which was another live debut. He then played ‘Route 66’ for the first time since 1986. His sixth song of the set was another live debut, as he covered Charlie Rich’s ‘I’ll Make It All Up To You’. Dylan and Willie Nelson, who are on the tour in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Outlaw Music Festival Tour, have another 34 nights to wow audiences across North America. Their tour will end on September 19th, 2025, in East Troy, Wisconsin. The support acts for the tour will regularly change, but they have announced that Sheryl Crow, Wilco, Billy Strings, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, the Avett Brothers, Lake Street Dive, Waxahatchee, Lucinda Williams, Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers are some of the artists who will be performing across the trek. Dylan has been open about his love of The Pogues in the past. In November 2022, he paid tribute to Shane McGowan on stage in Dublin. Bob Dylan covering The Pogues' 'A Rainy Night in Soho' at Outlaw festival in Phoenix 🎶⁠ Against a dark sky, Bob Dylan’s infamous rasp can be heard softly gliding through the song, as a reddened backdrop ignites him on the stage. The cover was the 13th and final song that the musician played during his set. This wasn’t the only song Dylan covered in his performance at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre. He also played Axe and the Wind by George ‘Wild Child; Butler, which was another live debut. He then played ‘Route 66’ for the first time since 1986. His sixth song of the set was another live debut, as he covered Charlie Rich’s ‘I’ll Make It All Up To You’. Dylan and Willie Nelson, who are on the tour in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Outlaw Music Festival Tour, have another 34 nights to wow audiences across North America. Their tour will end on September 19th, 2025, in East Troy, Wisconsin. The support acts for the tour will regularly change, but they have announced that Sheryl Crow, Wilco, Billy Strings, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, the Avett Brothers, Lake Street Dive, Waxahatchee, Lucinda Williams, Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers are some of the artists who will be performing across the trek. Dylan has been open about his love of The Pogues in the past. In November 2022, he paid tribute to Shane McGowan on stage in Dublin. The frontman was in attendance at the show, and heard Dylan note that he loves ‘Fairytale of New York’ and listens to it “every Christmas”. A three-month pregnant woman was hacked to death inside her house in #Telangana's #Vanasthalipuram on Wednesday, allegedly by her ex-husband who was unhappy with her remarriage. The two software professionals, who had lived briefly in #Canada, divorced in 2024. The woman had earlier filed a domestic violence complaint against the accused, following which a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against him. The #VanasthalipuramPolice said Devarakonda Mahesh barged into the fourth-floor apartment of Sunitha (29) at #GreenCityColony around noon on Wednesday, went straight to the room where she was and locked it from inside. He was carrying a bag with two knives, a bottle of petrol and a chainsaw. "Mahesh got into a heated argument with her and, within minutes, attacked Sunitha with the knives. He stabbed her multiple times on various parts of her body, including her head," said T Mahesh, inspector, Vanasthalipuram. On hearing the victim's screams, other family members rushed to her room and found Sunitha lying on the floor in a pool of blood. By then, the accused had locked himself in the washroom," the inspector added. At the time of the attack, Sunitha's mother-in-law was on the terrace drying clothes, while her brother-in-law was working in another room. Sunitha was working from home. The woman's family members told police she and Mahesh got married in 2022 and moved to Canada. From the beginning, their relationship was strained. Eventually, in 2024, Sunitha filed for divorce and returned to India. In early 2025, she married another man and began living in Vanasthalipuram. "Last year, Mahesh returned to India after his mother passed away," said B Anuradha, DCP, L B Nagar. She said he was intercepted by police at the airport as a LOC had been issued in his name in connection with a pending domestic violence case filed by Sunitha. His passport was seized. "Since he could not return to Canada because of the LOC, he was disappointed. He also held a grudge against Sunitha for remarrying and wanted to seek revenge," the DCP added. Police said they had to break open the bathroom door to apprehend the accused. A case of murder has been filed against Mahesh.
