MUST SEE: Watch the roof at the 10-second mark. That is when flames blow through as Charlotte firefighters cut into the roof during vertical ventilation at a house fire this morning on the 8000 block of Tremaine Court. The call came in at 12:51 a.m. during last night’s severe storm. Firefighters arrived with visible fire along the roofline and controlled the fire in 40 minutes. No injuries were reported. This was one of three lightning-related house fires Charlotte Fire responded to in less than an hour. At 12:08 a.m., crews responded to the 1300 block of Sugar Hollow Drive and controlled the fire in 50 minutes. At 12:30 a.m., firefighters responded to the 4900 block of Abendego Road and controlled the fire in 30 minutes. Red Cross was contacted to assist. No injuries were reported at any of the three fires. Three lightning strikes. Three house fires. One severe storm. One busy night for Charlotte Fire.

The first night when we all slept in an outbuilding where there was coal and heat. We were full of joy. But we still did not know what awaited us all ahead. Pain and the first serious losses. That's how we sat and slept for the last time.

Tonight, a procession carried CMPD Officer Joshua Eyer’s body from the hospital to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Thank you for the enormous outpouring of support from law enforcement across the state as well as Charlotte Fire Dept for closing roads tonight. Our prayers are with Officer Eyer’s family and the families of the three other officers who lost their lives in the line of duty today.

#ISPR General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff, (COAS), witnessed firing of different Air Defence weapon systems during Exercise Al-Bayza-III, 2024 at Sonmiani. COAS viewed integrated fire and battle maneuvers of Army Air Defence systems which includes High to Medium Air Defence Weapons System (HIMADS), Low to Medium Air Defence System (LOMAD), Short Range Air Defence system (SHORADs) and Extended Short Range Air Defence system (ESHORADs). In a landmark achievement and milestone in enhancing the Air Defence of the aerial frontiers of Pakistan, HIMAD system in maiden fire was able to successfully engage the target at maximum ranges along with other layered weapon systems which were tested during the exercise. COAS highly appreciated the remarkable achievement of engaging targets with precision and operational readiness of Corps of Army Air Defence. While interacting with the officers and troops, COAS highlighted that Armed Forces of Pakistan are modernising their systems in line with our requirements to deter and be able to respond to any threat emanating against Pakistan. Corps Commander Karachi, Commander Army Air Defence, Inspector General Training & Evaluation and Inspector General Arms also witnessed the exercise. Earlier, COAS visited Army Air Defence Center. He laid floral wreath at Yadgar e Shuhada and paid homage to martyrs of Armed Forces. Last week, we had a demonstration in Integrated Test Range (ITR) Chandipur where we were able to fire 150 kilometer with a CEP (Circular Error Probable) of less than three meter. Similarly, 300 kilometer rocket launcher and the rocket was also fired with a CEP of less than three meter. Today we have got an order from Indian Army under emergency procurement for the system, under which we have to give them two launcher vehicles procurement. one battery command post, and one loader vehicle... Today, in the presence of Defence Minister, we would like to do the flag-off ceremony for this..."

It is designed for middle strikes and has a 60 kg warhead. Russian army sustained about $75 million loss, and, even more importantly, this is a strike on the part of Russian air defense that causes a lot of problems for our Defenders. Glory!

The micro rockets used in this counter-drone system underwent rigorous testing at the Seaward Firing Range, Gopalpur, achieving all designated objectives. Three trials were conducted for the rocket at Gopalpur on 13th May 2025 in presence of senior officials of Indian Army. Two trials were conducted by firing one rocket each. One trial was conducted by firing two rockets in salvo mode within 2 seconds.
