Islamabad: 13 August, 2026. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, H.E. Mr. Espen Barth Eide, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House, today. The Prime Minister welcomed the Norwegian Foreign Minister and expressed satisfaction at the warm and cordial ties between Pakistan and Norway. He noted with appreciation, Norway's bilateral cooperation with Pakistan, particularly in the areas of education, skilled labour, climate resilience, and technology. While expressing Pakistan's strong desire to enhance bilateral trade with Norway, the Prime Minister invited Norwegian companies to invest in oil & gas exploration in Pakistan. During discussions on the regional and global situation, the Prime Minister deeply appreciated Norway's strong and principled stand in support of Palestine. He also thanked Norway for its consistent support to Pakistan's regional peace efforts in the Gulf region. The Norwegian Foreign Minister thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception accorded to him and conveyed the good wishes of Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre to the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a series of meetings with senior executives of Türkiye's leading business groups and industry organizations in Istanbul, reaffirming Pakistan's commitment to strengthening economic cooperation and attracting greater Turkish investment across key sectors of the economy. The Prime Minister met with Chairman of Çalık Holding, Mr. Ahmet Çalık; Chairman of the Board of Directors of Albayrak Group, Mr. Ahmet Albayrak; and the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), Mr. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. During the meetings, the Prime Minister underscored the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Pakistan and Türkiye and emphasized the importance of translating the two countries' exceptional relationship into a stronger economic and investment partnership. He highlighted Pakistan's improving macroeconomic fundamentals, investor-friendly policy framework and the Government's commitment to ensuring a transparent, predictable and business-friendly investment environment. On arrival, I met with Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary, H.E. Musalia Mudavadi, in Nairobi. We held constructive discussions on the warm bilateral relations between our two countries. Islamabad : 28 July 2026. A U.S. Congressional delegation, comprising Rep. Ryan Zinke and Rep. Michael Baumgartener, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House this afternoon. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch, and U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Ms. Natalie Baker were also present. During the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed both U.S. Congressmen to Pakistan and said that their visit was a welcome step towards building stronger Pakistan-U.S. ties. While congratulating the Congressmen and the American people on the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence, the Prime Minister also conveyed his warm regards and best wishes for President Donald Trump. The Prime Minister fondly recalled President Trump’s bold and decisive intervention that led to cessation of hostilities and ceasefire between Pakistan and India in May 2025, and helped saved hundreds of millions of lives. On bilateral relations, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan was keen to further strengthen its cooperation with the U.S. in trade, investment, agriculture, IT, mines & minerals and the energy sector. Both Congressmen thanked the Prime Minister for the warm hospitality extended to them during their visit. On bilateral relations, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan was keen to further strengthen its cooperation with the U.S. in trade, investment, agriculture, IT, mines & minerals and the energy sector. Both Congressmen thanked the Prime Minister for the warm hospitality extended to them during their visit. They noted that President Trump enjoyed excellent relations with the Pakistani leadership, which was also having a positive impact on the bilateral ties. They praised the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s leading role in regional peace efforts. The two sides agreed to increase the number and frequency of visits by Congressional delegations to Pakistan as well as visits of parliamentary delegations to the U.S. After the meeting, the Prime Minister hosted a reception in honor of a delegation of U.S. corporate sector executives who are visiting Pakistan. The delegation includes representatives of diverse sectors including IT and technology, energy, mining and manufacturing. Welcoming the delegation, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding partnership with the U.S., emphasizing that economic cooperation remains a central pillar of bilateral ties. He invited more U.S. companies to invest in Pakistan in mutually beneficial ventures across a wide range of sectors. During their warm and most cordial exchange, the Prime Minister underscored that the Pakistani American diaspora, well represented among the visiting U.S. business delegation, constitutes a vital bridge between Pakistan and the United States. During the warm and cordial meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the Canadian Foreign Minister to Pakistan and stated that the two countries enjoyed friendly ties that needed to be further expanded, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, agriculture including agri-foods and vaccine manufacturing, renewable energy, as well as the automobile and auto parts industry. He conveyed his greetings and best wishes for Prime Minister Mark Carney and said that he looked forward to meeting him soon. He fondly recalled the telephone conversation with his Canadian counterpart in April, and thanked Canada for supporting Pakistan’s regional peace efforts.
