After leading 𝙎𝙏𝘼𝙏𝙀 to the '𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧' the prior season, Richard Williams and company followed that up by winning the SEC Tournament in 1996,... followed by their historic run to the '𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐫' in the '96 NCAA Tournament. It's the only time in Mississippi history a basketball team has made it that deep in the postseason. He was the head coach at 𝙎𝙏𝘼𝙏𝙀 for 12 seasons.
