The question is Where do these squatters come from ? They come as the family of the cheap labour hired from other states more often than not illegal immigrants. Any illegals crossing in to north- east states get entry in metros through the ‘ cheap labour’ route and their family ends up squatting and defacing public property. But also to make ends meet these illegals resort to crimes and get away with the same as there is no documentation for them
