Abdulkadir Ahmed Aw-Ali (Firdhiye), President of Northern Eastern Region State of Somalia, during the Heritage Institute forum conference of today at Dhusamareb, Galmudug State of Somalia. President Firdhiye emphasized that the political and security crisis is caused by secessionist groups, not by the people of the entire northern region. Some inaccuracies in the statements made by speakers at the conference were corrected regarding the "Northern Region (Somaliland)" in that the territories that were unionists, like Northern East, were aware of the dangers of secession very early in 1991 itself. Since then, the people in these areas have labored assiduously for the establishment of governance structures and against the secessionist constituents in reconciliation and political conferences such as Boocame I and II in early 1993.
