Today, as we observe the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, I pay my deepest tributes to Bengal’s proud son, a towering patriot whose life was devoted entirely to the freedom, dignity, and destiny of India. When fear was normalised and submission institutionalised, Netaji chose defiance. When compromise was convenient, he chose sacrifice. To Netaji, freedom was non-negotiable, dignity was non-negotiable, and India’s sovereignty was inviolable. Yet, in our times, we witness a disturbing and deliberate distortion of history. The legacy of our national icons is being erased, Bengal’s cultural inheritance is being demeaned, linguistic diversity is being mocked, constitutional values are being hollowed out, and democracy is being reduced to ritual rather than reality. The spirit of Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution is under sustained assault, while institutions meant to protect the people are increasingly weaponised against them. Today, the arbitrary and inhuman SIR exercise has plunged countless families into anxiety, dispossession, and despair, resulting in the loss of innocent lives. Every resident of Bengal is my family, and every injustice inflicted upon them wounds my conscience. This is a struggle between humanity and authoritarianism, between constitutional democracy and coercive power. Netaji once summoned the nation with a call that shook the foundations of the empire, “DILLI CHALO.” It was a call to reclaim India’s soul from injustice, fear, and domination. Today, as democracy faces its gravest test, that call echoes again. On this solemn and historic day, I reaffirm my pledge that Bengal will not bow. Bengal will not be silenced. Bengal will not surrender its constitutional rights. We shall fight tooth and nail until justice prevails, until democracy is restored to its rightful place, and until every Indian can walk with dignity in their own land. May 2024: Called Ramakrishna Mission & Bharat Sevashram Sangha monks “BJP agents”, threatened to “free Bengal from their clutches” — direct attack on Swami Vivekananda’s legacy. Monks marched barefoot in protest. 2. March 2025: Used Ramakrishna & Vivekananda as props to contrast BJP’s “ganda dharm” (dirty religion) at an Eid event — cheap minority appeasement that belittled the very icons she claims to revere. 3. 2019 & ongoing: Blamed BJP for smashing Vidyasagar’s bust (TMC goons were involved), then cynically turned his photo into her Twitter DP for optics while never accepting responsibility, nor conducting any investigation. I visited the hospital to meet and stand in solidarity with the gravely injured Swami Suryananda Maharaj, who was brutally assaulted during a peaceful Hindu Sammelan in Bhagabanpur in Purba Medinipur district. His only "crime"? Raising the sacred chant of **Jai Shri Ram**; a slogan that echoes the soul of every proud Hindu. Swami Ji personally recounted the horror to me; TMC-backed goons & "jihadis," pounced on him like wild animals. It felt like a personal victory, a moment when the world recognized the values of integrity and wisdom we Sikhs hold so dear. Dr. Singh Ji’s leadership accompanied some of my life’s biggest milestones. His tenure as Prime Minister witnessed my marriage in 2010 and the birth of my firstborn son, Rehras in 2011. And in 2019, the year my daughter Rut Suhavi was born, I had the unparalleled honor of receiving the Jewels of Punjab award from his hands. 🔊 The greatest moment in human history occurred when our Savior, Jesus, triumphantly declared, "IT IS FINISHED!" In that instant, our salvation, redemption, and eternal lives are now fully complete and secured in Christ FOREVER! He took our place, shed His blood for us, died, rose from the grave, and is coming back for His Church! 🔥We were all sinners, facing death, staring down an eternity in the pits of hell. But then, right at this very moment when our names are called to die, He steps into our lives, into the very depths of our despair, and takes our place. He dies instead of us, offering us a lifeline to eternal salvation. He sacrificed His life to save us, and now we stare at eternity in heaven with Him. ⚠️ We need to know and fully understand what He went through—otherwise, we will never grasp the depth, height, and length of His love for us! His sweat fell to the ground like drops of blood, a manifestation of His intense anguish. As God, Jesus was fully aware of everything that was going to happen to Him 🩸 He experienced the pain of knowing that one of His very own disciples was going to betray Him. 🩸 He knew that many who had once called Him "The Messiah" would now be screaming for His crucifixion. 🩸 He knew that He would be beaten nearly to the point of death before they pounded the crown of thorns into His head. 🩸 He knew the prophetic words of Isaiah spoken 700 years ago, that He would be beaten so severely that He would be "disfigured beyond human likeness." 👉🏼These things contributed to His great anguish and sorrow, causing Him to sweat drops of blood. But he's not using that money to amplify his voice, to talk about his record, to talk about his plans for the future, to talk about his vision, his promise for our country and the American people. He's not using it to talk about how he can solve the debt problem, how he can solve the chronic disease issue, how he can wind down the forever wars. You'll never hear that from this campaign.
