Two Arrested After Motorcyclist Stabbed During Southington Rideout Plantsville, Connecticut — On July 20, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Southington Police Department responded to the area of 503 Main Street after multiple 911 calls reported a large group on bicycles, e-bikes, and mopeds participating in a rideout. ALERT: Knife-wielding arsonist arrested after he tried to burn down a restaurant using a propane tank that was on fire. Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Florida received a call around 8:45 AM about a possible assault or battery in progress, only to arrive at the restaurant full of smoke. 53-year-old Rubiel Maceo Castillo had lit a propane tank on fire and spread flames throughout the place and met officers while wielding 2 knives. A deputy can be heard yelling, “Drop the knife now. Do it now,” before Castillo comes out of the building and is detained. HCSO and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews successfully rushed to contain the fire. Castillo has been charged with multiple crimes, including first-degree arson of an occupied structure.
