Proposal to name the Navi Mumbai International Airport after Loknete D. B. Patil. Chaired a meeting today at Sahyadri Guest House, Mumbai on the Navi Mumbai International Airport. It has been assured that the airport will be named Loknete D. B. Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport. A proposal for this was recently presented to Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, who has given a positive response. Very soon, the proposals to name the Pune Airport after Jagadguru Sant Tukaram and the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Airport after Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj will also be approved. This naming proposal has already been approved by the State Cabinet and passed by both Houses of the State Legislature. The Centre is framing a policy for such naming, under which the name of the airport will be approved as per the State Government’s proposal. Directions have also been given to withdraw cases registered during the protests over this naming demand, so that local youth do not face obstacles in employment. Cases from the Covid period will also be withdrawn through due judicial process. This marks a moment of justice for the people’s long-standing sentiment and honours the enduring legacy of Loknete D. This lady was harassed at the airport in Warri just because she's using a Russian passport and she's a dual citizen (Nigeria and Russia). Even after the warden saw her name and her nationality clearly indicated that she's a dual in her Russian passport, he seized her Russian passport and was trying to assault her. But my question is why are they checking her passport in Warri Airport that is not an international Airport?

Tow truck catches fire while taking an American Airlines 787 to a maintenance hangar at São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport. In a statement, GRU Airport, which is responsible for managing the airport, said that firefighters from the Airport Emergency Operations Center were called and controlled the fire. The Nigerian passport is slowly being ostracised from the rest of the world, and travel benefits are stripped slowly. However, no one is saying anything! Is there an organisation, an office, a ministry, or a parastatal in charge of negotiating or mediating for Nigerian travellers and how they are treated at airports and border controls? Why is Turkish Airlines selling 21-hour layovers tickets to nigerian citizens without any provision for hotel accommodations within the airport, because there are hotels within the airport. More importantly, which organisation is in charge of making sure that this does not happen to Nigerian citizens? Is Turkish Airlines allowed to keep people in the airport for 21 hours without any provision at all for them? Is it even legal? IATA ?
