Marvel Tokon with a training mode is not gonna save it for me but I’m willing to see where it goes?! The constant interruptions during gameplay, a lot the mechanics are weird as hell, I hate how tagging is in the game, even with quick tag. I can find all the sauce I want but I have to entertain the game systems to get there which right now this might the worst from arcsys I’ve played since 09 Ideally the game would need like an overhaul for me to like it. Here is a spider man thingy

Presenting Network Cities (@network_cities_), a city builder game where your social network powers your game. The game allows the players to bring in their network without any friction. Bigger your network, the faster you progress in the game. The game follows the basic rules of a city builder game where you collect, build and expand your city. But having an in-game companion in the form of Nikola Tesla provides a new interaction model while playing the game. Because it is powered by LLMs that take the player state as the input, the players always get the right game quests tailored for them. I’m so sorry but this is the new worst Mega design out of EVERY Mega IMO. Never liked Floette,this was a chance to make it more epic,or at the very least just make its actual face or body a bit different…instead they just give it a bigger,more boring flower I havent beat the game yet and I know this is a Mega exists for the story, but it doesn’t matter. This design and its animations below is what we get and it’s just so uninteresting and uninspired. Sure it’s the same concept as Mega Kangaskhan…but worse. Only the flower Mega Evolves but the flower isn’t a pokemon, it doesn’t have a character or a face (or a good animation to demonstrate its own sentience). I get that it’s because it’s following the whole Floette line gimmick of just their flowers changing. But it’s just not good. I would’ve at least preferred that it evolved into Florges gained a new color and then its Mega would just gain this same flower🤷‍♂️ The shiny is bad too lol

Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks is known for being one of the greatest adventure games of all time, but what a lot of people missed was its unique PvP mode. This game gave you the ability to get very creative with combos and there was nobody better at showcasing this than CHECK. These short clips demonstrate the many different ways you can build your combos and how you can use the stages to alter your combo routes. This was just a fun game mode that was never taken seriously by players, but it is cool to see how much detail went into it and how much the systems inside it allowed you to express yourself. If we get a 3D Kollection, including this game is an absolute must. This game is what you would refer to as "lightning in a bottle".

Video game discourse has fallen so far that we have Yahtzee describing rudely-named difficulty settings as "ableist" and whining about how "patronizing" designers are. He suggests adaptive difficulty as the best solution because "no one has to see it." What if I specifically want the game to be harder, period? Why should difficulty be a self-tuning black box hidden away from the player? This is just another step towards making games into guided amusement park tours. If I'm stuck on a difficult section or boss, I don't want it automatically toned down, I want to get better at the game and beat it. He even brings up DMC games as an example of being "too patronizing" because it doesn't give you an easy mode unless you die enough times, but you know what? The higher difficulties are locked at the start, too. Some of us would say that's patronizing. Why shouldn't I be able to choose Hard mode right away?

Personally as much as I love MBAACC I can't recommend it to new fighting game players. A lot of the inputs feel frame perfect with low margin for error and there's no tutorial mode. Also preferably you should read Tsukihime first so you know who the characters are. For first timers I would recomend something like FighterZ, MVC3 or if you want to do Melty Blood, start with Type Lumina. HOWEVER, MBAACC is an amazing game that's cheap and runs well and even as a new player if you have the motivation, you can learn it just like any other game.

Sit and spin! Yesterday we talked about the development of crawling. But I’m just as fascinated by the complex array of motor and cognitive skills on display here as this little one mimics his spinning toy giraffe. Watch how he manages to coordinate use of his arms and legs to revolve just as the toy does… using his heels to push off into the same counter clockwise spin and his arms to build and maintain momentum. But it not just that he can revolve. He manages to: - roughly approximate the speed of the toy’s rotation - visually track the giraffe, using its cues to start and stop his movement on demand, as if playing a game of “red light, green light” - time his singing to match the periods of rotation. You gotta love Darius Garland. Kenny Atkinson: “So I go upset today. I think we were up 23 and they cut it to 18 there in the 4th quarter and I started to get upset. Darius hit me on the cheek, like this, just to remind me. I get uptight sometimes. He’s like ‘Smile’. It is a kids game and there’s gotta be joy in the game. As a coach, sometimes you can lose sight of that but DG is the one that reminds me. Kids game, enjoy this thing.”
