💎 𝐓𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐱 Pavel Durov 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 💎 Yesterday during the interview with Pavel Durov, Tucker Carlson announced that he will be launching his own Telegram Messenger Channel! Besides that it was great discussion with the mastermind behind one of the largest social media's. 🧵⬇

2/ Pavel shared a story of a very difficult decision he had to make, when the Russian government decided to pressure him. As a result, @durov had to leave the country he was born & sell his 1st major social media app, VK.

3/ After that he went looking for another country to settle down & create his new company - @telegram The idea & the goal was simply to create a highly secure messaging app that would give people freedom of speech & security they deserve.

4/ Fast forward till today, Telegram remains a neutral platform that does its best in order to remain fair to all its users. Pavel also mentioned that they had $0 marketing budget expenses at all & that it's all been an organic growth.

5/ But what's the secret for @telegram growth? @durov explained in his interview with Tucker that it is a matter of creating a product that people would enjoy using! The App that embraces innovation, while the competition are just copying what has been already done in the past.

6/ As a result of this approach it led to an incredible increase in user growth & in-app activity. Simply because ppl enjoyed using @telegram & the values it stands for. But this journey was a bit tricky for Pavel, as he had to show the "resistance" to government pressure.

7/ He shared a couple of funny stories that he found himself in while trying to find the country to settle down with his new business venture. Such as getting attacked by 3 guys while walking down the street in San Francisco, because they wanted to grab his phone from him.

8/ As @telegram kept getting lots of attention from the US government & secret agencies he found himself in another story. Pavel mentioned that there was an attempt to hire one of his engineers in order to create a "back-door" to Telegram & get access to users' data.

9/ But that didn't work! As a result he settled down in the UAE. He mentioned that this was a great decision & that the Government of Dubai has been very supportive of his business. As they also try to remain Neutral to the world of politics in their approach.

10/ Another thing @durov discussed with @TuckerCarlson was that he doesn't own any real world assets No yachts, no jets, no houses. Just the Cash in his bank account & Millions of dollars in #Bitcoin wallet.

11/ One more thing that they have discussed was the fact that Pavel @durov owns 100% of the @telegram. On a question "why didn't he give up the equity?" he answered: - I just didn't see any reason to do that, I had enough money to get by, but to be fair, we did raise some debt

12/ He also spoke about the fact that they don't really have an HR department. But instead utilize another interesting approach. They started the platform where they host contests for engineers & hire The Best of The Best from competitions that they host every couple months.

13/ Another thing that @durov mentioned, was that he is the only product manager & that they have a small, yet very efficient team at @telegram. Pavel said that he directly works with every engineer at his company & that he enjoys doing so!

14/ By the end of the interview @TuckerCarlson & @durov had very interesting discussion about @elonmusk & @X Durov mentioned that he likes that Twitter/X becoming Pro Free speech. He said: - We love the fact that Elon bought Twitter! What X is trying to do is in line with us.
