Some of you think fire service officers are spirits that will just disappear and appear wherever there's an inferno within seconds. It doesn't work that way. The major problem is that we lack safety measures. Every fuel station should have a safety officer on site.

Transporters sometimes leave their vehicles running why buying fuel, leave their passengers in the vehicle to buy fuel, a lot of ignorance. People don’t treat fuel as combustible.

A man has just been shot and killed at NNPC, Obalende, Ikoyi, Lagos, during an argument on whose turn it is to purchase fuel. There are conflicting reports as to the identity of the shooter, as some stated the shooter was a policeman while others referred to him as a DSS operative. The shooter fled the scene immediately, in a bid to escape. The youths in the area as an action to reciprocate the killing, burnt 2 Hilux belonging to Police/DSS. Currently, there is still a growing fire at the NNPC fuel station in Obalende and citizens are advised to stay safe and stay indoors until the situation is handled.
