Today, around midnight I came across a middle-aged lady sitting by the roadside with two young children. She looked lost and desperate, so I decided to check on her and find out what was wrong. To my surprise, I realized she was the same lady I had helped some time ago at a different location, where she had claimed to be fundraising. When I questioned her about why she was out in the cold with her children so late at night, she told me she had been locked out of her house due to an unpaid debt of Ksh 1,500. Feeling for her situation, I offered to request a taxi for her or accompany her home and pay the debt directly to her landlord. This 70 something year old mom and grandmother gets her hair done here and her appointment is always one hour. That’s it. And every time she is done she has to wait. She waited 45 minutes after this appointment was done. She even called 15 minutes before she was done to let them know. I would never have let my mom or grandma wait. I’d have stayed at the appointment even if it was in the car. People really upset me. Do better family of this mom and grandma.
