@MobilePunch is a terrible liar on this issue.... The corrupt LASTMA officers are irredeemable. LASTMA caused traffic for you to make a mistake.... The driver told LASTMA he didn't break the traffic rules and begged them but refused to listen to him ๐Ÿ‘‚

If you live & work in Lagos especially around after Oshodi you'll remember how we did not see LASTMA in the road during campaign last yr. They even made a video begging us to forgive them & vote for Sanwo-Olu. They stopped impounding vehicles. After SanwoOlu won, they continued

Itโ€™s sickening to think that someone in an attempt to engage a LASTMA official, would set his bus and the official ablaze. Very sad. It is even more sickening to think that the fellow is a public driver, thereby putting others at risk. This should not go unpunished.

No fewer than one driver has been confirmed dead following a multiple articulated vehicle collision in the early hours of Friday at Otedola Bridge, inward Secretariat, along the Lagosโ€“Ibadan Motorway. The deceased, yet to be identified, was the driver of a sand-laden trailer involved in a collision with another heavy-duty truck conveying granite. The crash reportedly occurred after both drivers struggled for right of way. Officials said the sand truck driver was trapped in the wreckage and sustained fatal injuries. Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) Rescue Team extricated the victim and handed him over to personnel of the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), who conveyed him to the General Hospital, Ikeja, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the granite-laden trailer was rescued unhurt. A separate incident about 50 metres away, involving a trailer carrying flour that overturned, further compounded traffic congestion in the area, though no additional fatalities were recorded. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, described the fatal crash as โ€œdeeply regrettable and largely preventable,โ€ attributing it to impatience, indiscipline, and refusal to yield by drivers on the motorway. He extended condolences to the family of the deceased. Traffic along the corridor was severely disrupted, with nearly 80 per cent of the carriageway obstructed, forcing authorities to divert motorists heading into Lagos.

This morning, the collision involving heavy-duty trailers on Otedola Bridge has culminated in an unfortunate fatality, with the operator of one of the trailers succumbing to the traumatic injuries sustained in the accident. The calamitous incident, which transpired due to a reckless contest for right of way, has prompted an expeditious emergency response from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). The aberrant drivers, seemingly oblivious to the perils of their actions, were traversing the bridge when the collision occurred, obstructing nearly 80% of the carriageway and precipitating extensive traffic congestion. LASTMA personnel responded promptly, effectuating an intricate rescue operation to extricate the trapped driver, who was subsequently transferred to the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) but unfortunately pronounced d#@d. The aftermath of the accident has witnessed a paradigmatic shift in traffic flow, with motorists being redirected through alternative routes, in a bid to mitigate the congestion. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, lamented the incident, attributing it to the impetuous nature and indiscipline prevalent among some drivers. This lamentable incident serves as a poignant reminder of the imperative need for drivers to exercise prudence and adhere to extant traffic regulations to forestall such calamitous occurrences. #FollowLASTMA The Lagos State Govt Lagos State Ministry of Transportation Babajide Sanwo-Olu Oluwaseun Osiyemi Sola Giwa Oki-bakare Olalekan JUBRIL ADEYEMI OSHODI Wale Musa Jubril A.
