"My name is Akiva and I am member of NWFOI. Today I decided to make a peaceful, silent stand against the weekly pro Palestinian rallies in Liverpool, which as a Jew, feels threatening to me and my people. I stood proudly in my Israel football shirt and kippah holding a homemade Bring Them Home hostage poster. Within seconds things turned nasty. My poster was ripped out of my grasp and stolen. At this point I decided to stand firm and not back down. Despite now only displaying a kippah and Star of David the abuse did not let up. Grown adults were shouting in my face, hurling abuse and one tried to hit me with their wooden placard. There was no police presence. After it ended, several onlookers congratulated me on making a stand and that my peaceful protest did not warrant the abuse it received. Israel And Its Supporters Are Causing Attacks On Jewish Institutions Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt gave a bizarre appearance on CNN in response to an attempted car bombing of a Michigan synagogue by a man whose Lebanese family members were killed by Israeli forces. “We are seeing Jewish people, the Jewish state, blamed for the war in the Middle East,” Greenblatt said. “That is wrong. It is wrong to scapegoat, it is wrong to hold Jewish people accountable for something you don’t like on the other side of the planet. And we really need leaders on all sides in politics, running for office, podcasters, to stop with the conspiracies, to stop with the accusations, and then tell us ‘but we oppose antisemitism’. You don’t get to say you’re opposed to hate if you’re trafficking in hateful conspiracy theories.” Now, at first glance it this might read like Greenblatt is taking the entirely reasonable position that it is wrong to blame Jewish Americans for the actions of the Israeli government. But take a closer look at his use of the phrase “the Jewish state”. What Greenblatt is actually doing here is claiming it’s an antisemitic conspiracy theory to blame the state of Israel for its war crimes, while simultaneously lumping all Jewish people in with the actions of that state. That’s what he’s doing when he says “Jewish people, the Jewish state” in the same breath while talking about Israeli acts of mass military violence. It’s so obnoxious how genocide apologists like Greenblatt make a living actively telling everyone that Jews and Judaism are inseparable from the acts of the Israeli government, but whenever there’s an extremist attack by someone who doesn’t distinguish between western Jews and the state of Israel it gets blamed on the pro-Palestine left. Pro-Palestine leftists perform endless verbal gymnastics to avoid conflating Jewish people with the state of Israel, while Israel and its supporters conflate them constantly. Yet we’re always the ones who get blamed whenever there’s a terror attack on a Jewish institution by someone enraged by Israel’s actions. Zionists are the ones doing everything they can to make sure people see the state of Israel as synonymous with Jews and Judaism. That is what they are doing every time they claim a criticism of Israel’s actions is hate speech against Jews. They are claiming that the nation and its government are one and the same as the entirety of the Jewish faith and its adherents. Pro-Palestine leftists have been doing the exact opposite. We go to great pains to make sure all our arguments are carefully worded to avoid being interpreted as an attack on the Jewish faith, making it clear that our grievance is with the state of Israel and the political ideology of Zionism which supports that state’s abusive nature. And then Israel apologists come in and smear those meticulously crafted arguments as a hateful attack on all Jews everywhere. Zionists are therefore responsible for the growing perception that our Jewish neighbors and countrymen are culpable for the abuses of the Israeli government. When more attacks on Jewish institutions occur (and they will), it is Israel and its supporters who will hold the blame for this, not the pro-Palestine left. I am not saying attacks on Jewish institutions should happen. I am not saying it will be good when they do happen. I’m saying it will happen, and when it happens it will be a terrible thing. And it will be the fault of Israel and its supporters. Israel And Its Supporters Are Causing Attacks On Jewish Institutions Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt gave a bizarre appearance on CNN in response to an attempted car bombing of a Michigan synagogue by a man whose Lebanese family members were killed by Israeli forces. “We are seeing Jewish people, the Jewish state, blamed for the war in the Middle East,” Greenblatt said. “That is wrong. It is wrong to scapegoat, it is wrong to hold Jewish people accountable for something you don’t like on the other side of the planet. And we really need leaders on all sides in politics, running for office, podcasters, to stop with the conspiracies, to stop with the accusations, and then tell us ‘but we oppose antisemitism’. You don’t get to say you’re opposed to hate if you’re trafficking in hateful conspiracy theories.” Now, at first glance it this might read like Greenblatt is taking the entirely reasonable position that it is wrong to blame Jewish Americans for the actions of the Israeli government. But take a closer look at his use of the phrase “the Jewish state”. What Greenblatt is actually doing here is claiming it’s an antisemitic conspiracy theory to blame the state of Israel for its war crimes, while simultaneously lumping all Jewish people in with the actions of that state. That’s what he’s doing when he says “Jewish people, the Jewish state” in the same breath while talking about Israeli acts of mass military violence. It’s so obnoxious how genocide apologists like Greenblatt make a living actively telling everyone that Jews and Judaism are inseparable from the acts of the Israeli government, but whenever there’s an extremist attack by someone who doesn’t distinguish between western Jews and the state of Israel it gets blamed on the pro-Palestine left. Pro-Palestine leftists perform endless verbal gymnastics to avoid conflating Jewish people with the state of Israel, while Israel and its supporters conflate them constantly. Yet we’re always the ones who get blamed whenever there’s a terror attack on a Jewish institution by someone enraged by Israel’s actions. Zionists are the ones doing everything they can to make sure people see the state of Israel as synonymous with Jews and Judaism. That is what they are doing every time they claim a criticism of Israel’s actions is hate speech against Jews. They are claiming that the nation and its government are one and the same as the entirety of the Jewish faith and its adherents. Pro-Palestine leftists have been doing the exact opposite. We go to great pains to make sure all our arguments are carefully worded to avoid being interpreted as an attack on the Jewish faith, making it clear that our grievance is with the state of Israel and the political ideology of Zionism which supports that state’s abusive nature. And then Israel apologists come in and smear those meticulously crafted arguments as a hateful attack on all Jews everywhere. Zionists are therefore responsible for the growing perception that our Jewish neighbors and countrymen are culpable for the abuses of the Israeli government. When more attacks on Jewish institutions occur (and they will), it is Israel and its supporters who will hold the blame for this, not the pro-Palestine left. I am not saying attacks on Jewish institutions should happen. I am not saying it will be good when they do happen. I’m saying it will happen, and when it happens it will be a terrible thing. And it will be the fault of Israel and its supporters. Last night, we witnessed horrific violence on the streets of Amsterdam. Jewish fans who came to watch Israel's soccer team, Maccabi Tel Aviv, were attacked just for being Jewish. A pogrom is a targeted attack against a specific group of people, historically, most commonly the Jewish community. It comes from a Russian word, which means to wreak havoc. Think of it as an organized Jew hunt. Now, people online and in some media outlets are saying that Jewish fans deserved it, that the Jews deserved to be beaten up and thrown in the river. They're also saying that the attacks happened because of the war between Israel and Hamas and the other Iranian proxies in the region. But ask yourself this. What other civilians are being hunted down in the streets of a foreign country because of a war their country is fighting? A war they didn't even start. So let's be clear on this. The brutal attacks in Amsterdam were not a sports brawl, payback for offensive chants at a soccer game, or solidarity with Gaza. It was a deliberate, orchestrated assault on defenseless Jewish people, a reminder of the violent pogroms our communities have faced for centuries. This is the result of years of ignored warnings about antisemitism, unchecked and preposterous lies and slander about Israel, and the worldwide spread of radical jihadi ideology. It's time for leaders around the world to take antisemitism in its modern form, anti-Zionism, very seriously. Now westerners assume that the "ongoing" seeks to highlight continued suffering of Palestinian Arabs, but as with so many other phrases that serve as "dual use language" (as Eran Shayshon coined) is that the deep meaning is very different. Once it is known and understood that the real time meaning of the Nakba, as described by Constantin Zureiq as "Seven Arab states declare war in an attempt to subdue Zionism, stop impotent before it, and return on their heels" was the shameful failure to defeat the lowly Jews in war - it becomes crystal clear why it remains "ongoing": As long as Israel exists, the Arab, and especially Palestinian Arab shameful failure to dismantle Jewish sovereignty and "subdue Zionism" remains "ongoing". As long as, per Bevin's quote, the top goal of the Palestine Arabs "to resist to the last the establishment of Jewish sovereignty in any part of the land" remains unfulfilled, their definition of disaster remains "ongoing". In the updated book of The War of Return, "October Return", Dr. Adi Schwartz and I included a dictionary of sort to explore this dual use language. You can be absolutely sure this story is complete baloney. Stand With Us is a right-wing pro-Israel advocacy group that has regularly been accused of peddling misinformation and stifling dissent on Palestine. It is definitively NOT a reliable source. "We've been asked not to name" the university - funny that. Heaven forbid someone might be able to check the story out. A few weeks ago Laura Kuenssberg was peddling the idea Palestine Action is Iranian backed. Just how easy is it to persuade her to become a vehicle for self evidently baseless smears by those seeking to discredit and delegitimise the Palestinian solidarity movement? She occupies an enormously powerful position. It's deeply concerning that, on this issue at least, she's incapable of upholding the most basic journalistic standards.

Let’s just get this straight. Anti-Zionism is antisemitism. Antisemitism is not just racism or hatred. It’s a shape-shifting conspiracy theory. And every few generations it changes into something different. Now people are literally saying, oh, we’ll just get rid of Israel and everything will be fine. It shifts into something different, in which takes everything bad that was said about the Jews, everything that you attributed to the Jews as the worst thing in history, instead of on the Jews, onto Israel. And they attribute the same bloodthirstiness, the same untrustworthiness, the same desire to control and power. Literally take the word Jew and swap it with IDF. They’re standing on the footsteps of colleges in America and they are rehashing. They think they have this new, they found this new cause and unbeknown to them, first of all, they’re rehashing antisemitic tropes from like the 1500s, right? And that obsession that they aren’t even aware of is what allowed for October 7th and October 8th to happen. And that is something that we need to be very careful about, because they’re after taking Israel down. And that would be if they will succeed, and they won’t. But they’re after that. And that is the possible new Holocaust. That would be the calamity of the Jewish people of our generation. And it’s masked as this like, I’m not antisemitic, I’m just an anti-Zionist. No. Antisemitism in a new face. We have to be very careful of it.
