I'll analyse Multan's season in detail during my post-season show, but here are some of my initial thoughts: The team looked good on paper, but several key players failed to perform and seemed past their prime. Personally, I would have selected Jason Roy or Alex Hales ahead of Shai Hope, and chosen a better bowler than Josh Little. The unavailability of Johnson Charles and Gudakesh Motie was a major setback. Some of the replacement picks were extremely weak and better options were certainly available than Curtis Campher and Ashton Turner. David Willey and Chris Jordan couldn’t deliver, and their reduced pace was a major factor. Michael Bracewell was a great pick, but his performances were disappointing. Rizwan didn’t utilize him properly either. How can you not give him even a second over after just one poor one? If Bracewell wasn’t bowling well in the powerplay, why did you keep using him there? As for Mohammad Hasnain and Akif Javed... I have no words. Multan lost because of poor bowling, and they’ll need to fix that next year. Why did Multan drop the most catches when they were supposed to be the best fielding team? Multan gave up too early and didn’t put up a fight in the last four matches. They didn’t even play the right playing XI. Listen, your fans come to the stadium to watch you win, not to see you experimenting even for next year during dead rubbers. It was disappointing to see match-winners benched in the final games. You let your fans down. Even in a dead rubber, your first motivation should always be to win. Losing due to poor performances is understandable. But losing because you gave up, played weak replacements, and fielded an unbalanced XI? That’s not acceptable, even for neutral fans who just want to see competitive cricket. You can’t just hand out two free points to evevryone. In last, don't reinvent the wheel for next year, only identify the gaps and only fix what is broken. Rizwan is a champion, give him a good team and he will deliver. I know his haters would flood that he is the root cause while he is not, but the lines above!! There were a few positives as well, which I’ll discuss in the show.
