The misleading clip circulating without context. Taehyung admitted during the shoot that he was shy and asked if they could do stuff (hug) like people do in music videos, his awkwardness when she hugged him can visibly seen as shyness — no racial discomfort was evident. +

Taehyung explained his reason of shyness in later clip saying, "Ah~ when I tried to look at Victoria, I couldn’t get any confidence (in front of her). Later when she's my age, I'll sit like this *gesturing placing hand on shoulder* and be like *sings his part of 'boy in luv'" +

The comparison with the other woman is also misleading. She was 35 at the time and was accompanied by her boyfriend, whom Taehyung referred to in a motherly manner and treated as a friend. His comfort with a woman closer to his mother’s age cannot reasonably be compared to his +

interactions with women he may have found attractive. Taehyung was visibly shy around white women as well, suggesting that his behavior was more consistent with the shyness of a teenage boy around women, not discomfort towards any race. +

Throughout the show, he also hugged Black men without displaying any shyness, awkwardness or discomfort. The two clips are being deliberately presented with a misleading narrative to incite unnecessary hate toward someone who was a teenager back then and simply shy around women
