Crash is one of those movies that makes you uncomfortable on purpose. Cronenberg turns trauma, obsession, and desire into something strangely hypnotic. James Spader was perfect for this kind of unsettling role. The movie doesn’t really ask you to understand the characters it makes you sit with how far their obsession can go.
