These quick workouts are for people who want to improve their postures. The exercises target the weakened foundations pulling your body out of alignment. The sessions are short yet effective. Use the workouts to raise yourself to the next level before the new year starts. Two years ago, I severely herniated a disc in my lower back (L5-S1). —12/10 pain —couldn’t walk for weeks —lost foot control —narrowly avoided emergency surgery After a decade of back pain, I’d had enough. I resolved to become bulletproof. I tried everything under the sun and over time, cobbled together a back mobility routine that helped me rebuild and become more resilient. My full routine is in the comments below, but there’s a shortcut—if you do these two simple exercises 3 times a week, you’ll get 80% of the benefit: 1) Back extension. Buy a $100 piece of equipment from Amazon. Start with static holds, work up to 2 minutes, then start moving as shown. Work up to 3 sets of 30. Then you can add weight and/or start doing one-leg static holds. 2) Hanging knee lifts. Start by dead-hanging (without lifting your knees) then slowly work your way up to 3 sets of 15 lifts. Then you can add weight using a product called Monkey Feet. Stick with it—there are no quick fixes for back problems and it can take a few months to turn the corner. Note: It’s important to warm up before doing these exercises. I usually do a 1-3 mile walk, then planks and bird dogs as shown in my complete routine in the comments below.

My Take Amazon has invested billions in drone delivery infrastructure and the pitch has always been speed and convenience as genuine improvements over traditional delivery. Dropping packages from 10 feet onto concrete is not a delivery innovation. It's a trebuchet with a Prime logo. The fragile item problem alone eliminates a significant portion of what people actually order, including wine, glassware, electronics, and anything in a glass jar, which covers a substantial chunk of Amazon's catalog. The deeper question is whether this technology is being deployed because it's ready or because Amazon needs to demonstrate progress on the billions already committed to it. Every video like this one becomes a public test of a product that isn't finished, in neighborhoods where the company needs goodwill to maintain operating permissions. Today is exactly 10 years since my injury that ended my skate career, at the age of 24. The animation explains exactly what that night was like, and how stupid it was, but also how gnarly it was. I ended up rupturing an artery, tore ACL, LCL, PCL, MCL, and stretched out the nerve in the back of my knee that caused me to have a permanent paralyzed foot (drop foot). I can’t begin to tell you how devastating it was to have something I loved so much taken away from me in seconds. My whole life was dedicated to skateboarding and it all changed over night, because of just one stupid moment. I’ve gone through a lot of ups and downs over the past 10 years, from hating skateboarding, wanting nothing to do with it, distancing myself from my skate friends - Then years later finding myself right back to loving skating and being apart of it again in different ways than just stepping on a skateboard. All of that has just been part of my healing process. I had a meeting with Rick, Carroll, and Smyth at Girl a few years back, requesting that we do a “Last Board”. They initially didn’t agree with me, but it was something that I really wanted to do. I felt just for the healing journey that I needed that chapter of my life to come to an end. I owe those dudes everything that I have in my life, Girl was my favorite company as a kid growing up, and I am so grateful that I was able to turn pro with them at 18 years old, and end my skate career with them (technically 10 years ago). I fucking LOVE Girl Skateboards forever. I also really like the idea of the board saying “GAME OVER” because it sounds so harsh, like “Dude, you broke your leg, you lose. You’re not Pro anymore. Game over” hahaha. If anything, the ad should make you take a second look at the ingredients of your usual purchases for your kids (if you haven't started looking already) and then the ingredients of the products advertised here... and continue asking questions about the source of sugar in both (refined sugar/source never mentioned vs. sweetened using dates and palm jaggery), besides every other ingredient in both. Of course, the true victory will be when, one day, the likes of Mondelez (owner of Bournvita), Hindustan Unilever (Boost and Horlicks' parent company in India), and Ferrero Group (owner of Kinder Joy and Nutella), among others, start realizing that they cannot afford to play this FSSAI-colluded unhealthy game anymore and that they need to come down from their ivory pedestal to start answering some serious questions. The book "Excellent Advice for Living" is so good I read it in one sitting. The book is a collection of maxims Kevin Kelly wrote to his adult children. Each maxim contains a bit of wisdom he wish he'd known earlier. 79 maxims that resonated the most (I added #57 selfishly) 1. Choose to believe that the entire universe is conspiring behind your back to make you a success. 2. Mastering the view through the eyes of others will unlock many doors. 3. If you can avoid seeking the approval of others your power is limitless. 4. The reward for good work is more work. 5. Don’t be the best. Be the only. 6. The urgent is a tyrant. The important should be your king. 7. Find smart people who will disagree with you. 8. The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. 9. The most counterintuitive truth of the universe is that the more you give to others the more you'll get. 10. Life gets better as you replace transactions with relationships. 11. Courtesy costs nothing. 12. Life lessons will be presented to you in the order they are needed. 13. Cultivate an allergy to average. 14.
