Arsenal U21’s results are becoming a concern. Last season, they finished 14th in PL2, winning just 8 of their 20 league games before being knocked out by Manchester City in the playoffs. And the new season has started even worse. Arsenal U21 1–4 Chelsea U21. Yes, the U21s are primarily about development. Results aren't the only measure of a successful academy. But that can't become an excuse for consistently mediocre competitive performances. Other elite academies are developing young players and competing near the top of the table. Arsenal haven't done that. Last season was underwhelming. This season has started with a heavy home defeat. One game doesn't tell us what this team will become, but it does raise a legitimate question: At what point do we stop treating poor U21 results as irrelevant and start asking serious questions about the competitive level of Arsenal's academy?

This latest mini-doc on Bublik’s last season is a great reminder of how much the general audience often doesn’t know about what’s really going on with players’ health / daily life. In this case, Bublik admitted that he was hurt after winning Hangzhou and arriving in Beijing. It also looks like he had an MRI, but still tried to play. Looking back at the pricing on his match against Mannarino (which he lost quickly in straights), the betting markets were unaware of the situation too. Another strong reminder of why responsible gambling and proper staking plans are a must. Also, even if one player’s fitness concerns are publicly known, that doesn’t mean the other player is 100% healthy — just because there is no information online doesn’t mean everything is fine and the other way around. That’s why I’ve started taking pre-match fitness narratives and retirements with a grain of salt in recent months.

Most people talk about the Man City win under Michael Carrick, and yes, it was sweet. But nothing sweetened me more than how we completely humiliated Brighton 3-0 on the final day of last season. Brighton used to traumatize us completely. Even when we beat them 4-2 earlier in the season, it wasn’t comfortable at all until Mbeumo killed the game with that 4th goal. But Carrick went to the their stadium and completely shut them up without letting them score a single goal even when they desperately needed the match for Europe. Carrick let them know he is not like the past coaches. He didn't give them a single ounce of hope.

You honestly cant just dismiss Thomas Frank as a candidate for our managers position because "hes Managing Brentford" He started as an Assistant Manager at a mid table Brentford in 2016 Got promoted to Head Coach in 2018 Took Brentford to 3rd in his first full season Then got them 3rd and won the playoff in his second season Got them to mid table in the Prem in his first season beating Arsenal on the opening day, and got some big results ever since like winning at Chelsea, beating Peps Man City, Klopps Liverpool, and got them to the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup this season This is Brentford we are talking about. A side who had never tasted Premier League football before Frank, and a side who we all know are punching above their weight. Jon here. I need to talk about something serious This time of year loadsa people are on their own, in a bad place and are suffering. Every year I zoom a few of these people on Xmas day But there’s sadly too many. Luckily @samaritanscharity have been there for years, 365 days of the year answering the call for those in need Now our new video drops on our official YouTube channel at 10am tomorrow. It’s a joy. A musical love letter to my wife But the whole point of it is to raise awareness cos not everybody has someone to go home to. Please share the message and help us get the charity some money and awareness in these difficult times Love to you all Jon
