This is a gross violation of partial lifting of arms embargo on Somalia ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ด. #Somaliland on its part must arm itself to thawrth Somalia's ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ด impending invasion of The Republic of Somaliland, purportedly, planned, financed and fully supported by Egypt ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ฌ and Turkey ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท; with thier second shipment of military shipments this week to Somalia. Furthermore, Somaliland government must request from Taiwan ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ and Ethiopia ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡น to rush arms to Somaliland. Two foreign policy objectives that I don't under why Somaliland did peruse is mind-boggling to many Somalilanders. Firstly, why do we have to keep Turkish ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท Consulate open in Hargeisa, Somaliland, secondly, what prevents Taiwan ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ from supplying arms to Somaliland. Well, we have to keep in mind that Somalia ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ด with this new military equipment from Egypt ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ฌ and Turkey ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท, enables invade Somaliland. Taiwanese reluctance to supply defense arms to Somaliland to protect its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity would cause Somaliland and Taiwanese relationship the thing of the past. Furthermore, Ethiopiaโ€™s ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡น national security interest are closely linked with #Somaliland's independence sovereignty and territorial integrity as such, would not allow #Somaliland become a war zone vis ร  vis Egypt and Turkey arming our archenemy. In conclusion, what current Somalilandโ€™s government must do is to initiate a bold diplomat move to seek military assistance from her friends including UAE ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช, Ethiopia ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡น, and Taiwan ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ.

The original map of Somalia ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ด is not what colonial-based platforms like Google Maps present today. Somalia is much larger than the 7 displayed in Google Maps and Wikipedia crapp. Before colonization divided the land, the Somali nation encompassed all Somali-inhabited territories, including: โ€ข Djibouti (formerly French Somaliland) โ€ข Northern Somali regions, Western Somali regions, and the NFD (under British rule) โ€ข Southern Somalia (formerly Italian Somaliland) These borders were not drawn by Somalis. They were imposed by colonial powers to fragment the Somali peninsula into artificial territories. The true extent of Somalia is symbolized by the five-pointed star on the Somali flag, not by modern colonial maps. Google Maps and similar projections do not define Somaliaโ€™s real size or history. Mapping itself has long been a political tool. The same distorted projections shrink Africa while making North and South America, Russia, and China appear comparable; when Africa alone is larger than all of them combined. History did not begin with colonization, and truth does not start with Google Maps.,The true size of Somalia is far greater than what todayโ€™s maps suggest. Reality deserves to be acknowledged. ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ดโœŠ๐Ÿฝ #Somalia #Mogadishu #GreaterSomalia #Somali #SomaliUnity #OnePeople #PanSomali #AfricanHistory #DecolonizeMaps #ColonialBorders #ReclaimHistory #ColonialLegacy #ImperialMaps #maps #DecolonizeAfrica #TruthOverMaps #AfricanTruth #HistoryMatters #SomaliPride #FivePointStar #SomaliNation #SomaliPeninsula

๐Ÿšจ| ๐—•๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—”๐—ž๐—œ๐—ก๐—š_๐—ก๐—˜๐—ช๐—ฆ ยซTOGDHEER, Somalia โ€” A high-level delegation of ministers from the Federal Government of Somalia arrived in Buuhoodle, Togdheer, on Monday after making the journey by road from Laascaanood, Sool, as part of an official development mission.ยป The delegation made the journey by road from Laascaanood, Sool, to Buuhoodle, Togdheer, marking a significant overland visit to the region. Upon their arrival, the delegation will travel to several districts across the Togdheer region, where they are scheduled to lay the foundation stones for a series of development projects aimed at strengthening public services and accelerating local development. The visit is part of the Federal Government's broader efforts to expand infrastructure, improve access to essential services, and support sustainable development initiatives across the region. The Federal Government continues to demonstrate its commitment to national development and the preservation of Somalia's unity through practical action on the ground. The government's outreach to different regions reflects its policy of ensuring that development and state institutions reach all parts of the country. As part of this commitment, the government intends to extend its official engagement to Hargeisa and Borama, underscoring its longstanding principle of safeguarding the unity and territorial integrity of One Somalia. ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ดEfforts to externally divide Somalia are moving in clear opposition to the social and political realities on the ground. The clashes that previously occurred in Las Anod did not bring stability to the former administration. Instead, they resulted in governance weaknesses, a loss of legitimacy, and political failure. Continuing a similar discourse today in Hargeisa would amount to nothing more than repeating the same mistake. Las Anodโ€™s decision to separate from Somaliland and declare its affiliation with the Federal Republic of Somalia is not merely a local decision. It constitutes a strategic response by the Somali people in favor of unity rather than fragmentation. Similar messages emerging from Awdal further demonstrate that this trend is structural rather than temporary. While external actors seeking to fragment Somalia remain active, the emergence of a strong willingness among significant segments of the Somali population to integrate into the central federal structure is noteworthy. What we are witnessing in Somalia today is the reversal of the classic โ€œdivide-and-ruleโ€ approach: divide, fragment, and reunify. In this context, the presence of the Somali President and Prime Minister, alongside Tรผrkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan, standing with the Somali people in Las Anod was not merely symbolic. It conveyed a clear message in support of Somaliaโ€™s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political unity. As it has in the past, Tรผrkiye will continue to stand by the will, unity, and sovereignty of the Somali people.

The world has waited long enough. Somaliland must be recognized as an independent nation now - not next year, not after more diplomatic delays. Every day that passes gives more power to authoritarian regimes looking to control one of the most important regions on Earth. Letโ€™s be clear: Somalia is a failed state. Its government doesnโ€™t fight terrorism effectively, canโ€™t protect its own people, and has a terrible human rights record. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has shown again and again that he is not a leader, but a threat to stability. Despite this, the international community continues to act as if Somalia is in control - when it clearly is not. In contrast, Somaliland is functioning like a real country. It holds free elections, keeps order, and runs its institutions - all without help from the global powers. Its people have built a working democracy, and yet they are ignored by the West. Now Somalia is making false claims over Somalilandโ€™s key infrastructure - like Berbera Port and Berbera Airport โ€” trying to take control of what doesnโ€™t belong to them. This is nothing more than a power grab, using the same bullying tactics we see from Putin. Somalia wants to crush Somalilandโ€™s independence, even though it canโ€™t manage its own territory. And what does the world do? Nothing. It stands by, frozen, while aggressors move in. Russia, China, and Iran are not waiting. Theyโ€™re watching this power vacuum and moving fast to expand their influence. They want control of key trade routes, ports, and governments - and if the West doesnโ€™t act, they will succeed. Somaliland is the frontline - not just geographically, but politically. It stands between democracy and dictatorship. Berbera Port matters. It sits right at the entrance to the Gulf of Aden and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait - where nearly 12% of all global trade passes through. If Iranโ€™s militias or Chinaโ€™s navy gain a foothold there, it would be a disaster for global trade and security. The EU and its allies must step up. This is about more than loyalty to a democratic partner - itโ€™s about protecting our own interests. Recognizing Somaliland gives us a trusted ally, access to key intelligence, and a stable partner in a region where the West is losing ground. It would send a clear message: we stand with democracy, not chaos. Somalia, meanwhile, is collapsing. More than half its population lives in poverty, and its government does little to help. Somalia ranks last in Africa on the Human Development Index. Thatโ€™s not just a number - itโ€™s a failure of leadership. So why is the world still pretending Somalia should speak for Somaliland? Somaliland is already a nation in everything but name. It governs, it protects, and it builds. The only thing missing is the worldโ€™s recognition. Refusing to acknowledge Somaliland doesnโ€™t just insult its people - it empowers pirates, warlords, and hostile regimes. The West is running out of time. Iran is turning Yemen into a weapons base. China is expanding its reach. Ships are being harassed in the Red Sea. The signs couldnโ€™t be clearer. To ignore Somaliland is to invite chaos. To recognize it is to support peace, democracy, and a more secure future. The choice is obvious. The time is now.

I share with the United Nations, the European Union, and the United States the ongoing massacre in Awdal Region by the Isaac family militias calling themselves Somaliland. Yesterday we learned about the events that took place in the SSC 2023 regions by the Isaac family militias calling themselves Somaliland. Today, the SSC regions have become the Northeastern Regional State of Somalia, a member state of the federal government of Somalia, after a brutal massacre by the RRU forces trained by the British government. Therefore, today, the Isaac family administration led by Cabdiraxmaan Cirro has begun a massacre and destruction of property in Borame, the capital of Awdal region. The people of Awdal and Selel are being massacred so that they cannot achieve their desire for their region to be part of a regional administration under the federal government of Somalia. The people being killed are being used as weapons and ammunition in regions that reject the idea of โ€‹โ€‹secession. The money that is being spent on killing people from Awdal is donations given to the Isaac family who call themselves Somaliland and they use the donations to buy weapons and ammunition to oppress the people of northern Somalia. Please save the people of Awdal before a humanitarian disaster occurs. President Hassan will be the first Somali head of state to make meaningful progress toward restoring national unity if he succeeds. This development comes at a time when the President of the Somaliland administration visited Qatar, following an invitation extended by the Qatari government. The timing suggests that talks between the Federal Government of Somalia and Somaliland may soon resume, with hopes that a lasting resolution can be achieved. Qatar has consistently played a successful role in mediation efforts and is once again seen as a potentially effective mediator in this delicate national matter. #Somalia

A THREAD 1/2 The secessionist narrative that Somaliland was a state in 1960 is false โ€” the historical record is clear. โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€” One of the most widely propagated yet concocted narratives promoted by secessionists in northern Somalia is the claim that two sovereign statesโ€” Somalia and Somaliland โ€” were created in 1960, and that one of them was later โ€œlostโ€ or โ€œgiven away.โ€ This is false. Completely false. The historical record showsโ€”clearly, repeatedly, and contemporaneouslyโ€”that only one state was intended, negotiated, and established, and that state was the Somali Republic. From Hargeisa to Mogadishu, from London to New York (including the UN), the destination was stated consistently and explicitly: the creation of the Somali Republic on 1 July 1960. More importantly, the people and leaders of northern Somalia were active architects of the Somali Republic. Crucially, they neither intended nor worked toward the creation of a separate Somaliland stateโ€” despite the persistent misinformation now circulated by secessionist actors. So pervasive has this disinformation become that, only days ago, even unionist politicians in Mogadishuโ€”some of whom hail from northern regionsโ€”repeated this claim as fact. What follows are nine hard proofs, drawn from primary documents and contemporaneous practice, demonstrating that no Somaliland state was created or โ€œlost.โ€ In 1960, everyone in Hargeisa was working toward the creation of one state: the Somali Republic. 1) Colonial labels were not states โ€œBritish Somaliland,โ€ โ€œItalian Somaliland,โ€ โ€œFrench Somaliland,โ€ the NFD, and the Ogaden were imperial administrative labelsโ€”not sovereign national projects. Across Somali territories in the late 1950s, the dominant political current was pan-Somali nationalism and decolonization, not fragmentation. 2) British Somaliland was a protectorate, not a state Under British law, Somaliland existed through protection treaties with Somali clans (1884โ€“1886). Britainโ€™s legal obligations were therefore to communities, not to a pre-existing sovereign โ€œSomaliland state.โ€ This mattered because protection could end only through a transition agreed by those communitiesโ€”and that transition was explicitly tied to independence followed by union. 3) Northern Somalis worked toward the Somali Republicโ€”amply documented In April 1960, the elected Legislative Council in Hargeisaโ€”the highest political authority under British ruleโ€”passed a resolution calling explicitly for independence and unification with Somalia on 1 July 1960. This is recorded in Hansard. There is no ambiguity. 4) The April 1960 Joint Communiquรฉ removes all doubt Between 16โ€“22 April 1960, senior Somaliland legislators traveled to Mogadishu and issued a Joint Communiquรฉ with their southern counterparts calling for the creation of a republic on 1 July 1960. It states: โ€œThe Territories of Somalia and the Somaliland Protectorate shall be united on July 1st, 1960โ€ฆ The new Somali Republic will be a unitary, democratic and parliamentary State.โ€ It further ordered the merger of the two legislatures into one National Assembly, the election of one President, the formation of one government, the designation of Mogadishu as the capital, and the creation of one national army. This is not the language of two states; it is the blueprint of one republic. 5) London understood the objective was union, not separation In the UK Parliament, the Prime Minister and the Colonial Secretary stated plainly that independence would be granted to the protected tribes of northern Somalia so that union could lawfully take place, acting on the โ€œdeclared wishesโ€ of Somalilandโ€™s elected leaders. Somalilandโ€™s โ€œindependenceโ€ was a legal bridgeโ€”not the destination. 6) Contemporary media reported union On 6 May 1960, The New York Times reported that Britain would grant independence to Somaliland โ€œso that it could unite with Somalia.โ€ No contemporary account described this as the birth of a separate enduring state.

The recent attacks mark a dangerous turning pointโ€”not only for the two countries involved but for the entire region and the international community at large. Somalia is particularly alarmed by the recent Israeli strikes against Iran and emphasizes the need for full respect of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity, in accordance with the United Nations Charter and international law. The use of force against a sovereign nationโ€”regardless of the justificationโ€”risks undermining fundamental international principles and further destabilizing global peace and security. Somalia calls for diplomacy, restraint, and meaningful dialogue as the only viable path to resolving this conflict. We urge all parties to refrain from further escalation and to prioritize peaceful engagement. #Somalia #iran #UN
