IAS officers undergo two years of training before their field posting - one year at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie and another year... of field experience. Under the Assistant Secretary Programme, before their official postings, the fresh batch of IAS officers is attached to the Government of India for 3 months, which provides them exposure to the functioning of the central government. Assigned to different ministries, they are given the opportunity to suggest improvements for the specific departments. They are also asked to prepare a presentation with new ideas, which is then presented to the Prime Minister. I am in Turks and Caicos Islands, where I am meeting with a contingent from the Jamaica Constabulary Force. These officers have been instrumental in helping to reduce crime here in the islands. Our officers are exceptionally well trained, and their presence here is a testament to that training. The Government of the islands is pleased with the work these officers have been doing under the leadership of Commissioner Fitz Bailey. I had the pleasure of inspecting our officers and speaking with them about the important work they have been carrying out here.

At #Mussoorie’s Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration #LBSNAA, it was an unusual but rewarding interaction with a group of IAS officers from batches across the year 2002 to around 2008, who were returning to the Academy for Mid-Career Training after having put in around two decades of service in their respective cadres. Glad that Director Sh Sriram Taranikanti accepted my suggestion that instead of delivering a one-way lecture to them, I shall prefer engaging in an informal candid two-way dialogue and try to understand what has been their experience in all these years and what do they expect from us. I firmly believe, it is time to discard feudal models of long discourses and instead, learn to learn from each other. #DoPT

Following the Prime Minister's comments yesterday evening at the Lord Mayor's banquet, where he said that "it was important to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position for negotiations, so that they can secure a just and lasting peace on their terms", I pressed Government ministers today for urgent clarity on the approach to Ukraine. This language relating to negotiations is new, and if the government are now framing through a lens of negotiation, this would represent a departure from the current approach. We are continuing to see more brutality from Putin, and we need reassurance from the government that the UK will keep doing all we can to support their defence of freedom.

The Niceaunties AI Video Grant At Fellowship, we believe in creating an environment for experimentation and the development of ideas. That is why, when niceaunties proposed a grant program for mentorship and the creation of AI videos, we immediately said yes. The program will help support six artists, to create a Solo Show for the Fellowship Daily program. The commitment is to produce 8 new videos based on a theme proposed by Niceaunties. This will be an open call for all the Daily Artists and the AI video community at large. Everyone is welcome to reply/submit a video for consideration. Each grantee will receive a total of 2ETH provided by Niceaunties and Fellowship, as well as mentorship from Niceaunties and alejandro cartagena. We encourage artists applying to consider this grant as a space of critical feedback and of experimentation. Artists are encouraged to be open to new ideas and to explore alternative ways of how to think of their practice. These funds and curatorial support are there to open up time for the creators to engage and create a space ideal for critical feedback. Selston High School. Today I asked the Government about Selston High School, 25% of which is currently closed off due to structural issues in the building. To that end I am supporting the school in submitting a bid to the Government to have the school rebuilt through the School Rebuilding Programme. This programme is a continuation of the one in which Ashfield School and Outwood Academy Kirkby's respective bids were successful after I supported their bids. I asked the Minister to ensure that Selston High School also gets the money for the school to be rebuilt.

The NDC Is fast turning out to be a disruptive interlude and a complete waste of the country’s time as they struggle to fulfil Even the simplest of promises they made to the people. The government needs to take this country serious and simply do what they promised. It is becoming stressful listening to them everyday making excuses for even the simplest of things like repeal of a law which they promised. We are in the 8th month of the year and they have not intitiated a single new strategy in dealing with the Galamsey menace. Rather, their officials in government and party are on record to have invaded our forests and river bodies actively destroying our natural resources in search of gold. Enough of the rhetorics and talk, they shld just walk the talk and fix the situation. It is sad to see NDC members and government are officials like Prof, Gyampo gone completely mute and swimming in power whiles his colleagues in the party destroy our rivers and forests. Stop the excuses and fix Galamsey

The brutal and cruel attitude of this Modi government was witnessed in the national capital yesterday. Students from all over the country are here to protest over the NEET and CBSE exams. The students of India have genuine issues. They are holding a peaceful protest over those issues. Is this the way to deal with a peaceful protest? This government is scared and completely insensitive. We are going to raise this issue again in the House today. We have already moved an adjournment motion condemning the lathi charge, asking for the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan and asking for a clear-cut action on NEET and CBSE exam leaks. Modi is totally anti-student and anti-youth. He does not understand the psychology and pain of the students and youth of this country. He is completely responsible for yesterday's incident. Whenever there is a public agitation and people are expressing their sentiments, the government should call them and try to address their concerns. Instead, it resorts to lathi charges and tear gas.
