Dear Linda, This is my rebuttal to your analysis of Pierre and last night’s leadership review from your substack article. I even added a video to remind you of why Pierre's is still the right choice as leader of the opposition to deal with fiscally irresponsible Liberals in 2026. You’re arguing Linda, that the party should dump the one leader who exposed repeatedly and pushed Justin Trudeau out and expanded the Conservative base. We’ve debated this before, and you’ve already conceded several points about Pierre’s effectiveness and actual popularity. I hope you’ll read this reply with that same honesty as when we spoke in spaces. You say Pierre’s hiding in safe ridings and managed contests. The numbers say otherwise. 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟱. You also frame Pierre as a “known quantity” no one wants, even though he’s driving engagement levels the party hasn’t seen in decades. At some point, dismissing popularity starts sounding like frustration with voters, not leadership analysis IMHO. You’re convinced Mark Carney has already passed Pierre. Yet despite high personal approval, his party’s still neck and neck with the Conservatives. If flexibility is such a strength, why hasn’t it translated into real momentum creating a huge gap between the parties? That's a question that requires an honest deliberation Pierre isn’t avoiding fights. He’s staying focused while food prices are set to climb again this year, costing families hundreds more. You’re worried Pierre doesn’t look prime ministerial enough abroad. But last I checked leadership isn’t mainly about decoration Linda. While you’re focused on optics, he’s talking about an energy corridor and cutting the GST on new homes so the economy actually works. Fancy credentials don’t win trade wars. Production does. A country that can’t build anything has no leverage, no matter how polished its leader looks like or what he studied. The “cult of personality” you complain about is really people who are done being told that looks matter more than results, even though Pierre by every metric I use in my industry of Marketing and Advertising he checks off. But more importantly than all that, there is a glaring issue that image will not placate...Over two million Canadians use food banks every month. At that point, image stops being persuasive wouldn't you think? Pierre’s saying the uncomfortable part out loud, that's the problem. As I already told another recently, that's the issue Socrates outlined as the problem with democracy. People want candy... Not medecine when they are sick. Canada’s heading toward a fiscal cliff with massive new borrowing planned, when it was borrowing that got us into this mess when Trudeau borrowed close to $700B and doubled the national debt seemingly overnight. You think next year will be tough for him? Really? It’ll be tougher for Canadians who were told branding could replace basic math. Pierre has been consistent about the uncontrolled spending of the last 5 years, while Liberals seem to double down. History is crying in the corner after screaming for centuries that once the shine wears off a carefully packaged leader, people look for the one who told the truth when it wasn’t popular. Presentation doesn’t fix structural damage Linda. This isn’t about Pierre. It’s about whether we keep choosing comfort over correction. Eventually, the pain forces the issue.
