The constitution says expropriation can only happen for the following reasons: 1. public purpose and public interests. What is public interest and public purpose? Land reform, sharing equitably South African resources and by deduction redress/restitution. So with 79% of land in white, colored and Indians hands that acquired it through racial laws and blacks only have 4%. How then is the aspect of land reform and redress being addressed by taking the little land in black tribal leaders hands instead of taking the illegitimately acquired land in white hands? That would be inconsistent with the spirit of the constitution and Act, surely. Moreover, it will lose them more voters.

The president of South Africa has signed the Expropriation Bill through which he seeks the power to confiscate private property without compensation. This despite the fact that his party has lost significant support in the last election and is now governing in coalition with several parties that have described this step as a red line that cannot be crossed. The question thus becomes what are these parties going to do? Is it worth being part of a "government of national unity" if that government is even more radical than the previous one. People who voted against EWC and the Bela Bill are now represented by parties involved with a government that is presiding over the implementation of these things. Should they remain in the GNU?

As we celebrate and reflect on Africa Day today, it is important to qualify the intervention by South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola. What he says is correct, the issue of immigration in South Africa is indeed a crisis, and instead of focusing on peripheral issues, attention should be directed at the root causes, the push factors driving African migrants from countries such as Zimbabwe and Mozambique into South Africa, both legally and illegally. The fact of the matter is that we all know what the problem is: misgovernance. And the African National Congress, which has governed South Africa since 1994, is fully aware of this reality. Yet it has continued politically supporting the regimes in the region that have contributed to creating this crisis inside South Africa itself. We all know that ZANUPF rigs elections. We all know that it presides over a deeply corrupt system. We also know that some within the ANC benefit politically and materially from relationships with ZANUPF. So while Minister Lamola’s comments sound correct in principle, many people across the region have become sceptical because statements are repeatedly made, yet very little changes in practice. As we saw during the recent Southern African Development Community (SADC) foreign ministers’ meeting held in South Africa, Zimbabwe’s Foreign Minister, Dr Amon Murwira, was effectively in denial, insisting there is no immigration crisis affecting Southern Africa or South Africa. As long as leaders continue issuing statements without confronting the underlying governance failures driving migration, this crisis will persist. This is fundamentally a crisis of failed leadership. That is why other parts of Africa, and indeed other regions of the world, often look at Southern Africa with disbelief. We know what the problem is, and we know what needs to be done, yet we refuse to act. Worse still, regional leaders continue defending and embracing the very political systems that are producing the collapse, namely ZANUPF in Zimbabwe and FRELIMO in Mozambique, even after disputed elections, corruption scandals, and institutional decay. It is not rocket science why Zimbabweans cross into South Africa to seek medical treatment. It is not rocket science why a significant number of women giving birth at Musina Hospital are Zimbabwean. It is because Zimbabwe’s public healthcare system has collapsed under corruption and decades of misgovernance. Zimbabwe’s largest public hospital still relies on a single maternity theatre built in 1977. The country’s public health sector has, for years, lacked a functioning radiotherapy cancer treatment machine for the entire nation. Under such conditions, desperate citizens will inevitably cross borders, legally and illegally, in search of survival and dignity. Tragically, it is ordinary poor Africans who now become pawns in political battles. Politicians exploit immigration to whip up emotions and win votes, while many of those same political actors continue protecting, legitimising, and enabling the governance failures that created the migration crisis in the first place. The Southern African Development Community (SADC) issued a scathing report on Zimbabwe’s 2023 election. Yet the first president to go and celebrate that disputed victory was South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. It therefore does not make sense for South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, to correctly speak about the root causes of the immigration crisis while his own government continues supporting and legitimising the very systems creating those root causes. After the SADC report was released, the Secretary-General of the African National Congress openly declared “Viva Mnangagwa.” That kind of duplicitous behaviour does not build confidence among citizens in South Africa or across Southern Africa.

Dr. Naledi Pandor, a highly respected and influential minister, has a significant role to play in addressing various foreign affairs matters. She is constitutionally responsible and mandated to represent SA on any matters abroad, and although SA enjoys freedom of expression, citizens have got no right to abuse that privilege as it was done by Mrs Talabi and her uninformed crew. It is crucial to address any actions that undermine the South African constitution, they must be punishable and cannot be justified under the guise of freedom of speech, Redi Tlhabi must be fined or expelled in the country if she refuses to apologize for her reckless conduct. In countries like China this will be considered terrorism or sabotage. The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) should take appropriate action in this regard. It is worth noting that Redi Tlhabi was not appointed to represent South Africa in the US, and her actions risk straining the friendship between South Africa and Russia. SA friendship with Russia is longstanding and will remain solid whether Mrs Talabi and US like it or not. Russia devoted her entire life and efforts to redeeming SA from the shackles of apartheid that was supported by the US, and for that we are forever grateful. South Africa should not be held hostage by the US due to any perceived benefits from the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). Instead, it is important to recognize that South Africa has its own strengths and contributions to offer. SA doesn’t need AGOA handouts, we can sustain ourselves without it, the US needs SA more than we need them. Rather, it is essential to foster respectful dialogue and seek mutual understanding with the US, the slave master relationship is over. Patriotism dictates that those who have engaged in biased propaganda campaigns should be held accountable, and we call upon President Ramaphosa to assert our country's sovereignty and demand respect from US politicians. It is disheartening to see journalists like Stevovo applauding such content, as ethical and unbiased journalism is crucial for our nation. Let us strive for respectful and constructive discussions that promote unity and progress, what Redi Tlhabi did is simply distasteful and divisive. To be clear, Zimbabwe's land reform was never about really giving land to Africans. Mugabe, a European puppet of note, was only caught off guard by War Veterans who had run out of patience, and he acceded only because he was on the verge of losing power. So, Zimbabwe is a bad example. Now, Chris Kunzler here makes one of the most important cases for land reform, giving Alexandra as an example, where vast tracts of land lie unused (and owned by Europeans who inherited the land from previous thieves), but the land cannot be used to resettle the crowded people of Alex. A drive around Gauteng will show that there exists these vast tracts of land around the most overpopulated townships, but the government cannot use this land because it is obscenely priced for the willing buyer and willing seller BS.

This is a painful story 💔 A whole 130000km mileage reversal and vehicle was in a terrible accident yet sold accident free !! This Dealer( KOHINOOR MOTORS ) in PRETORIA has been refusing to take this car back since September last year. He sold a car to this Aunty with reversed mileage and it has endless problems. The worst part is how rude this dealer and his lawyer is. They threatened to call saps and kick us off their property if we decided to bring that car back. The lady is very fearful of this dealer 😔 We have now escalated this matter to MIOSA and it will definitely end up with The The National Consumer Commission (NCC) if Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa does not rule in favour of the client. All the proof is in this video. We as South African’s are tired and we need intervention. There is no way that this Dealer cannot be brought to book. There are way too many people who are being taken for a ride by dealers and they have no voice or anyone to help them. Ignorance is indeed very expensive. This guy who is celebrating Donald Trump clearly does not understand what Donald Trump has done to South Africa, which the guy claims to love. Here are a few things that Donald Trump, whom he is celebrating, has done to South Africa. Donald Trump has threatened South Africa’s trade relationship with the United States and imposed punitive tariff measures on South African exports. He has also publicly and falsely accused South Africa of discriminating against white Afrikaners, falsely promoted damaging claims of a so-called “white genocide”, and runs a racist refugee programme for white South Africans. He portrays South Africa as a country persecuting minorities and has used the White House and international platforms to amplify narratives that South Africa itself says are factually inaccurate. He has linked aid and diplomatic relations to South Africa’s imagined land reform expropriation and attacked South Africa over its case against Israel at the International Court of Justice. His actions have damaged investor confidence through hostile rhetoric, increased diplomatic tensions between Washington and Pretoria, and contributed to the portrayal of South Africa as a country in crisis despite repeated objections from the South African government. The cumulative effect of these actions has been diplomatic strain, economic uncertainty, reputational damage, pressure on trade relations, and the reinforcement of international narratives that sane South Africans know are misleading, politically motivated, and harmful to South Africa’s interests. If you cannot get a basic demographic fact right, it becomes difficult to take seriously your analysis of immigration, labour markets, economic policy, or population dynamics. This is not a small mistake. Population size is one of the most fundamental facts in any discussion about immigration because it provides the context for understanding the scale of migration and its impact. When someone is wrong by more than 360 million people, they are not simply getting a number wrong. They are demonstrating that they do not understand the subject they are trying to explain, they are just a hammer for someone else. That is why confidence should never be mistaken for knowledge. THIS ONGOING DEMOLITION IN DELTA STATE SHOULD TELL YOU THAT IF YOU BUILD ANYWHERE IN NIGERIA WITHOUT HAVING TITLE DOCUMENTS, YOU ARE WASTING YOUR MONEY. When it comes to real estate and demolition of properties, only a heartless person wouldn't sympathize over such a huge loss. However, let's learn to do things how it's done so that it can be how it should be. Regardless of wherever you are in Nigeria, don't buy land without title documents. They won't ask you if you are Igbo or Yoruba. They will ask for your documents. Receipts, survey plans, and contracts of land sale aren't title documents. In Europe, America, South Africa, or anywhere the principle of "Quicquid plantatur solo, solo cedit" (whatever is attached to the land belongs to the landowner) is applicable, you can't just build on land that you don't have its title document. It will end in tears. See, the law is the law. If you have title documents and your property is earmarked for demolition because the government needs it, you will be adequately compensated. But if the land isn't yours, no one will compensate you. And that's why when buying lands, you must make sure you get the title documents: either excision, C of O, or Governor's consent. With registered or provisional survey, receipts, deeds of assignments, court judgments, or gazettes that prove the seller has the right to sell what they are selling and what they are selling is in good standing. Real estate is an investment. You make better investment decisions when you have knowledge of the investment. Lastly, real estate, like all investment, is risky. You don't negate risk; you mitigate it.
