A gas crisis is hitting Britain According to the Daily Mail, Britain's natural gas reserves are only enough for two days: According to new data published by National Gas, Britain's gas reserves have dropped from 18,000 GWh last year to 6,700 GWh, which is enough for only 1.5 days of consumption. Across all districts of Punjab, areas prone to ponding, where rainwater accumulates during the rainy season, have been carefully identified. To minimize the risk of urban flooding and to strengthen the capacity of cities to manage stormwater effectively, a landmark initiative has been launched. For the first time in the history of Punjab, 358 Underground Storage Tanks (UGSs), including roadside underground storage systems equipped with recharge wells, are being constructed across the province. The Renewed Hope National Media Tour continued in Imo State with an inspection of the ANOH Gas Project (Assa North–Ohaji South Gas Project), one of Nigeria's largest natural gas developments and a flagship project under the Federal Government's Decade of Gas Initiative. Very happy to report the occurrence of natural gas in Sri Vijayapuram 2 well at a distance of 9.20 NM (17 km) from the shoreline on the east coast of the Andaman Islands at a water depth of 295 meters and target depth of 2650 meters. Initial production testing of the well in the range of 2212 – 2250 meters has established the presence of natural gas with intermittent flaring. The gas samples were brought by ship to Kakinada, were tested and found to be 87% methane. The size of the gas pool and commercial viability of the discovery will get verified in the coming months but establishing the presence of hydrocarbons in the Andaman basin is a major step in confirming our long held belief that Andaman basin is rich in natural gas, in line with discoveries in the entire area from Myanmar in North to Indonesia in the south in this belt. Under the deepwater mission announced by Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi Ji on Independence Day, large number of deepwater exploration wells are planned in our offshore basins in order to find new discoveries and fully exploit our hydrocarbon reserves. This occurrence of natural gas will help us in taking forward our exploration ambitions in coordination with global deepwater exploration experts like Petrobras bp India Shell ExxonMobil and will be a significant milestone in our journey through Amrit Kaal! Hungary signed a 10-year gas supply agreement with Shell Plc, Bloomberg reports. According to the news agency: 🔹 this is one of the first steps to diversify away from Russian flows as a European Union deadline to phase out those imports nears; 🔹 2 billion cubic meters of gas will be delivered over 10 years, starting in 2026, Hungarian FM Szijjártó announced; 🔹 according to him, the supplies will be delivered to Hungary via Czech and German pipelines.
