What would Canada have to do before you finally said: enough? This is my full conversation with a group of “Forever Canadians” at the Alberta independence rally outside the Alberta Legislature on August 29. Earlier I posted some of the most heated moments from this exchange. This is the complete conversation, and I think the most important part is actually a much deeper question: Is there a line that Canada could cross that would make you stop supporting it? One woman accused me of being a “traitor” who had turned against my homeland. So I tried to explain why. You can genuinely love something and still reach a point where you can no longer support it. I use the deliberately extreme example of discovering that your spouse was a serial killer. You might love that person, but eventually some actions cross a line that love cannot excuse. That is how I feel about Canada. One of my biggest concerns is freedom of expression. Canada’s Charter protects freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, but those freedoms are subject to limits that governments can attempt to justify under Section 1. Canada also has newly introduced criminal hate-speech laws (bill C9). That has crossed a line. So I turned the question around on myself: what could Canada do that might convince me to become a federalist again? A constitutional guarantee of inalienable free-speech protections would go a long way. If Canadians had rights that governments could not easily limit when political circumstances changed, I would seriously reconsider my position. And I also explain something independence supporters sometimes fail to emphasize: There are still things I love about Canada. One example is our safety culture and the value we place on protecting workers. Having worked and travelled to places where those standards are bad, I know that Canada has built many institutions worth preserving. Alberta independence does not require pretending everything Canada created was bad. My argument is that lines have been crossed and because of that I have given up on Canada. And every time Canadians speak up, they’re told to sit down, comply, and accept it. That is not democracy. That is management. A country is not a flag or a slogan — it is a social contract. And that contract has been broken. From the Atlantic to the Prairies, from the North to the West, Canadians are asking the same question: Why are we being governed against our will? Why should provinces rich in resources remain shackled to policies that punish productivity? Why should regions with distinct values, economies, and cultures be forced into one failing centralized system? Independence is not division. It is accountability. It is self-government. It is the right of free people to choose their future instead of having it dictated to them. Nations around the world are rediscovering a truth Canada has forgotten: You cannot fix a broken system by begging it to reform itself. Real change begins when people remember who they are. If you understand how broken Canada really is. It's not that hard to figure out. It was and is designed to ENRICH ONLY upper and lower Canada from the beginning. Senate, SCOC and parliament seats rigged so only they can rule. Taxation WITHOUT REPRESENTATION! Then you understand why the federal conservatives are like a chihuahua all bark and no bite! There's nothing they can do. Now Jason Kenney who barked and when it came to biting actually jailed anyone who didn't follow his draconian cover policies. In the end some of the worse in 🇨🇦!! And blamed 🇨🇦 for it! The lethbridge 4 who were set up, framed by government and cruelty punished beyond reason, pastors jailed, kids playing hockey outdoors beat up and arrested, ppl dying without access to virtually empty hospitals, loved ones died alone bc no one was allowed in to comfort them! Companies shut down by the thousands!! All while he and his friends gathered closely and enjoyed wine and food around a table! This guy now touts himself as the arbiter of freedom! anti Alberta independence! Pro- Canada!!??! The conservatives are just a prop for the Liberals they do not represent freedom its all about power!!

They did not ask why the crisis is being run by YouTube video instead of Parliament or an unscripted press gallery session. Coyne said he’s “always in favor of recalling Parliament,” then immediately folded it into why Poilievre’s demand is a “safe harbor.” That’s not accountability. That’s covering for the absence of it What they did say: Coyne: “It’s not a trade negotiation because it’s about a lot more than trade and because there’s not a whole lot to negotiate.” Hébert: “I don’t think that on a major issue such as this… I’ve ever seen a Conservative leader [so] isolated.” And: Poilievre, Lewis, and Blanchet “are not very much part of the conversation.” Raj: short-term, “a political win for Mark Carney”—the closest anyone came to a wince, and even that was deferred to job losses in 2027 Then they spent the back half explaining why the opposition shouldn’t be listened to: don’t look unpatriotic, don’t ask for documents you won’t get, some unnamed people in the caucus/base are “blaming Canada,” Conservative premiers are already with the PM. THE TABOO IS THE PROBLEM. An immigrant looks straight into the camera and says what millions of Canadians have been told they’re not allowed to say: “Canada is turning into a third world country right before our very eyes.” He didn’t come here to attack Canada. He cares about the country that feeds him and his children. He wants to speak honestly so Canadians can actually vote correctly and move forward. But here’s the part that should make every Liberal squirm: He had to say it anyway — because we’ve made it **taboo** to speak the truth about what’s happening to this country. One single country now accounts for **45%** of all permanent resident approvals. At some point, we have to admit something systematic is happening. The fact that an immigrant has to be the one to say it out loud proves how broken the conversation has become. Canadians have been gaslit, shamed, and cancelled for noticing the same things he’s noticing. That taboo didn’t protect anyone. It just protected the people running the policy into the ground. When even the people who chose Canada are warning that the dream is collapsing… maybe it’s time we stop treating basic reality as hate speech and start treating the people who broke it like the problem. We don’t need more lectures about who’s allowed to speak. We need Canada First immigration — sustainable, merit-based, and actually in the best interest of the country we already have. Canada is at a breaking point — we need remigration now! Canada has a migration problem. We need to fix it — fast. Canada’s population now stands at almost 41 million people. A decade ago, it was about 36 million. And no, that growth was not caused by a baby boom. Mass migration is driving the increase, including permanent immigration, illegal immigration, temporary foreign workers and international students. There have been serious unintended consequences. Canada’s long-standing assumption was that newcomers would come here, pursue the Canadian dream, make use of the opportunities Canada provides, and in return respect our laws, our values and our way of life. That assumption has failed. In recent years, Canadians have seen disturbing examples of people bringing foreign conflicts, extremist politics and old hatreds into our streets. After the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel on October 7, 2023, demonstrations began in Canada almost immediately. Too many of them were not about condemning the slaughter of innocent people, but about excusing or celebrating it. Since then, Jewish communities in Canada have faced assaults, threats, vandalism, intimidation, hate marches and open displays of antisemitism. And too often, authorities and law enforcement have shrugged their shoulders. Meanwhile, barely a month goes by without demonstrations by temporary foreign workers or international students demanding to stay in Canada permanently. But “temporary” is supposed to mean temporary. A temporary foreign worker is a guest who must leave when it is time to do so. An international student is here for an education, not an automatic pathway to permanent residency and citizenship. Canada’s official multiculturalism policy began in 1971, when Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau announced it in the House of Commons. The idea was that newcomers could keep their cultures while participating fully in Canadian society. But there was always an unspoken deal: you can come to Canada, pursue opportunity and build a better life — but you must obey the law, respect Canadian values and not import foreign hatred or violence into this country. That deal has been broken. At the same time, Canada is facing a youth unemployment crisis. Young Canadians are struggling to find part-time jobs, summer jobs and entry-level work. The national youth unemployment rate is alarmingly high, and many Canadian students are being pushed out of opportunities they once relied on. By every major economic benchmark — unemployment, cost of living, food bank usage and homelessness — shows that Canadians are under pressure. So the question must be asked: how do we win the war on poverty by importing more poverty? The political class continues to double down on mass migration. But Canada must put country before party, citizens before cheap labour, and Canadian values before political games. The time has come to say enough is enough. This trend must be reversed. If you are a temporary foreign worker, then you are temporary. If you are an international student, you are here for an education, not guaranteed permanent residency. And if you are applying for citizenship while embracing terrorism or rejecting Canadian values, then Canada should have the right to say no. Do you agree? They’re anonymous because they know they’d face retaliation for speaking out — that’s how bad things are these days. The ads just show actual footage of what the pro-Hamas gangs are doing to Toronto — including committing real crimes ignored by the police and politicians. In the case of this particular ad, the images included pro-Hamas gangs shutting down the streets in downtown Toronto. Here’s the official police announcement, declaring those ads “Islamophobic" and suggesting that a hate crime has been committed. A crime! Toronto police don’t think the pro-Hamas street gangs themselves are committing hate crimes. They think the ad we ran on our truck is a hate crime. In Trudeau’s Canada, you’re allowed to support terrorism. You’re NOT allowed to criticize terrorism. That sounds more like 1984 than 2024.
