I think you are confusing our position. This video is about poverty tourism, firstly, not about the war in Congo, which they cover, but on a superficial level. Western media never cover the root causes of conflicts in Africa or the complicity of western multi-nationals or western states. We would never in a million years suggest not covering our conflicts because it makes us look bad which is what you seem to be suggesting.

What I love about this is the majority of Nigerians that try to go into the "rich" neighborhoods will either get shot or arrested. In Lagos there is an island near the city that only the super rich can even go to. Yes there is wealth in every country.. shocking!

The UN and Western media have been covering for Hamas for years. Videos like this have circulated widely on social media, showing UNRWA staff — many of them Hamas terrorists — beating and punishing Gazans for taking free aid without first paying the terrorist “tax.” Instead of confronting the evidence, the UN and Western media chose to look the other way and continued amplifying Hamas’s false narrative. This is not humanitarian work. This is collaboration with a terrorist organization. The journalists who have been repeating Hamas propaganda since October 7th have acted no differently than the state media in Nazi Germany in 1933 — not reporting the truth, but serving the lies of genocidal jihadists.

Speaking to Middle East Eye’s Mathilda Mallinson, US political commentator Katie Halper said that Israeli media has been able to cover sexual abuse against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails more openly than Western media because, she argued, Palestinians have been so dehumanised by Israelis. “They have so dehumanised Palestinians, generally and through the media, that it’s actually acceptable, in some ways, to do what they are doing to prisoners,” Halper said. She added that, when it comes to sexual abuse of Palestinian prisoners, Western media is “complicit but not explicit”.

In plain language, the United States does not want the risk on its own soil, so it wants to move that risk to Africa. Kenya’s High Court has now suspended the plan, blocking any Ebola-related quarantine, isolation, or treatment center tied to the US or any foreign government. The case, brought by the Katiba Institute, argued that the plan posed a threat to life if allowed to proceed without proper safeguards. This is bigger than one facility. It is about how Africa is still treated as a convenient dumping ground for Western fears. When the risk is too dangerous for America, it suddenly becomes acceptable for Africans. Ruto’s government must answer a serious question: why should Africa carry a public health risk that America refuses to carry for itself?

Many lies have been told about Africa, but also about the ancient History of Europe. Africans have always lived there. I read somewhere something about racists who wanted their country to be white again. Unfortunately there has never been a time when Europe or any other land on this planet was 100% white. The world has always been like today, but at some point, these facts have been erased and hidden from us in order to promote a racist ideology. I know that many of us believed that Africans met Europeans during colonization... But that is not true. Africans discovered the world first. World history is full of surprises. Especially the African one. In a few years Africa we will have the top and youngest population on this planet. We need that youth to know thyself or we will have a lot of sheeps in the continent. We need to promote and support our true history now. #Africa

For so many years what Africa called an opportunity and the US tagged a partnership AGOA, only trapped Africa further in a cycle of dependency and cheap natural resource exports. Far from being a loss to Africa, the end of AGOA is an opportunity to rewrite the continent's economics story on its own terms, and in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCTA) lies an opportunity to do so in a manner that would be transformational. The time has come for Africa to use its own resources and population to enrich itself, rather than tie itself up in Western dependency masked as "bilateral trade agreements."

The Irony of The West’s Anti-China Rhetoric In Africa. There is a stark contrast between China and its Western counterparts in the type of investments they offer Africa. While China places greater emphasis on infrastructure projects that deliver long-term benefits, Western powers tend to favor short-term social interventions that offer what appear to be quick fixes but have extractive intentions and often compound future challenges. Despite this clear difference, the west continues to push anti-China rhetoric in Africa. There is also the hypocrisy that comes with this rhetoric. Imagine arriving in Africa as a western diplomat to deliver lectures on limiting Chinese co-operation, but the airports, the roads and structural facilities that make your visit possible all exist because of the very partnership you sanctimoniously admonish Africans to do away with. One such case of this hypocrisy was in 2023, when the then Vice President of the US, Kamala Harris, visited Zambia. The Irony of The West’s Anti-China Rhetoric In Africa. There is a stark contrast between China and its Western counterparts in the type of investments they offer Africa. While China places greater emphasis on infrastructure projects that deliver long-term benefits, Western powers tend to favor short-term social interventions that offer what appear to be quick fixes but have extractive intentions and often compound future challenges. Despite this clear difference, the west continues to push anti-China rhetoric in Africa. There is also the hypocrisy that comes with this rhetoric. Imagine arriving in Africa as a western diplomat to deliver lectures on limiting Chinese co-operation, but the airports, the roads and structural facilities that make your visit possible all exist because of the very partnership you sanctimoniously admonish Africans to do away with. One such case of this hypocrisy was in 2023, when the then Vice President of the US, Kamala Harris, visited Zambia.
