Yesterday, students at Columbia Heights High School filmed an ICE agent driving his vehicle directly onto campus… pulling up to the school’s loading dock… before administrators forced the agent to leave. Children are supposed to be safe at school. Instead, ICE is now testing boundaries on school grounds, while the Trump administration has deliberately removed long-standing protections for schools and churches, making it easier to target children, especially unaccompanied minors. Today the Hyderabad Traffic Police organised the Meeting on Safety of School going children at Ravindra Bharathi as the academic year has started . The Collector and heads of the RTA, RTC , Education, also attended and all gave useful instructions and suggestions to the 750 school managements present and also some school children. I highlighted the need to employ two or more private security guards as Traffic Marshals by the schools to manage traffic outside and inside the school for a length of 200 metres on the left and right . They will be trained by the Traffic police and work under their supervision. I encouraged parents to use car pooling apps to send their children safely rather than stuffing them into autos , CCTV s need to be installed all over the school and outside also , pan shops and other small shops near schools need to be removed as they are peddling narcotics in some places . It was told very clearly that anything happening to any student will be the responsibility of the school management and they will have to face criminal action if they don’t invest in student safety . Requested the traffic police to see if they can revive the school traffic commandos programme which I had organised as traffic Addl-CP 15 years ago.

A whole village facing expulsion! In 1967, Israel extended the jurisdiction of the Jerusalem Municipality over thousands of hectares of illegally annexed land. The residents of Khallet a-Nu'man were unaware their village was included, and Israel did not issue them East Jerusalem residency cards. They are defined by Israel as "illegal residents" in their own homes. Over the years, the municipality refused to prepare a master plan and allow construction in the village, despite collecting property tax. I distributed 50 school supply kits to students at Al-Khayam School in Gaza, out of 120 students. Seventy children are still waiting for their turn waiting for nothing more than a pen and a notebook, just to feel that they are still students, and that their dreams still exist. I would be truly happy if we could complete the distribution to the remaining children those who have lost everything in their lives: their homes, their sense of safety, their childhood, and have nothing left but clinging to education as their last hope.
