According to this Labour Government 16 and 17 year olds are mature enough to vote, but not to serve on a jury. That is an "adult duty" apparently. They are old enough to vote, but are now subject to a government-mandated social media curfew at 8.30pm. The only consistent thing about Labour's votes at 16 policy is the blatant party political self interest.

San Francisco eliminated 8th-grade algebra in 2014. The stated goal: give minority students extra time to learn basic math. 8th-grade math proficiency in 2017: 51%. By 2023: 40%. It took a ballot initiative and a 4-3 vote to reverse it. Ten years. One generation of students. A measurable, documented decline across every group the policy was designed to help. This is what equity policy looks like in practice — not equal outcomes, just equally worse ones. The board just rediscovered that teaching algebra is how children learn algebra. That’s the whole story of liberal governance in one school district. So much for equity.

Today was truly a blessing. Peter Obi heard the voices of the students who stood at the edge of losing their academic future. Many of our leaders remain to stay quiet without providing any help and prefer to input our national wealth on Yatch and luxury cars, while students suffer but Peter Obi always choses compassion over silence and action over excuses. At a time when many turn a blind eye, he stepped in to remind us that leadership is about not just listening but responding to the cries of the people.
