Swift Troopsโ€™ Intervention Foils Attack on School, Saves Students in Kogi By: Zagazola Makama The timely intervention of security troops has prevented what could have been a major attack on students writing the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in Iluke Community, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State. Eyewitnesses who spoke after the incident commended the swift response of the troops, saying their prompt arrival at the scene prevented the attackers from carrying out a mass abduction of students. The attack occurred when armed men stormed the community and started shooting where students were writing their examinations. According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants attempted to seize the students and move them into a nearby bush before security personnel responded to distress calls from residents. โ€œThe situation would have been much worse if the soldiers had not arrived when they did. Their intervention saved the students and prevented what could have been a major tragedy,โ€ one resident said. Another eyewitness described the response of the troops as timely and professional, noting that the security operatives engaged the attackers and forced them to abandon their mission. The residents said the arrival of the troops compelled the attackers to retreat from the area. All the students were reportedly safe and unharmed and safely reunited with their families following the operation. Community members also praised local security volunteers and other security agencies that supported the operation. The incident, however, left the community in mourning following the death of three residents during the attack. Security sources said one of the attackers was neutralised during the exchange of fire, while several others escaped with gunshot wounds. A security operation is ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks in the area. Residents of Iluke Community expressed gratitude to the troops for their courage and sacrifice, describing the intervention as a decisive action that prevented a larger humanitarian crisis. They urged security agencies to sustain the ongoing operations and strengthen security presence in vulnerable communities across the area. The Kogi State Government has also commended the troops and other security personnel involved in the operation, assuring residents of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

Police, security sources dismiss alleged attack at Plateau burial ceremony By: Zagazola Makama The Plateau State Police Command has dismissed reports alleging that gunmen attacked mourners during a burial ceremony in the state, describing the claims as false and misleading. The commandโ€™s position corroborated earlier security reports by counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, which questioned the authenticity of viral videos and claims circulating on social media regarding the incident. In a statement issued on Tuesday in Jos, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Alfred Alabo, said no attack was recorded during the burial ceremony. According to him, the event was conducted under strict security supervision, with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), police personnel and other security agencies present throughout the ceremony. โ€œThe claims are grossly exaggerated, inaccurate, and do not reflect the true situation on the ground,โ€ the statement said. The police added that the burial was carried out peacefully without any external attack as alleged in some reports. Earlier, Zagazola Makama had also disputed the viral claims, alleging that the video being circulated was misleading and appeared to have been recorded by individuals within the gathering. According to the report, armed youths suspected to be members of local vigilante groups were seen firing gunshots within the burial ground during the procession, raising concerns over the proliferation of small arms among civilians. The report questioned how some of the youths gained access to firearms, including pistols and other weapons allegedly seen in the footage. Security sources said authorities were examining the circumstances surrounding the display and use of weapons at the gathering. Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Plateau, CP Bassey Ewah, has reinforced security in the area by deploying additional personnel, including mobile policemen, to prevent any breakdown of law and order. The police urged the public to disregard unverified reports capable of inciting panic and advised media organisations and social media users to verify sensitive security-related information before dissemination. The command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

Breaking News: Amhara Fano Forces Conduct Mission in Addis Ababa, Targeting Government Security Forces Unverified video footage has emerged depicting a daring mission carried out by Amhara Fano forces within the capital city of Addis Ababa. Reports suggest that the operation was executed without harm to civilians, with the sole objective of targeting government security forces. According to local sources in Addis Ababa, the Fano forces involved in the operation are believed to be affiliated with the larger Amhara Fano forces, which has been engaged in war with the regime of Abiy Ahmed, whom they accuse of perpetrating genocide against the Amhara people. The purported mastermind behind the mission, Major General Nahusenay, reportedly chose to take his own life rather than surrender to government security forces. Surrender is viewed as a dishonorable act in Amhara culture, dating back to ancient times. The Ethiopian regime has been taken aback by the strength and resilience of the Fano forces and has responded by intensifying crackdowns, targeting innocent Amhara civilians in Addis Ababa. Disturbing reports have emerged of ethnic Amharas being transported to concentration camps reminiscent of World War II standards. The international community is urged to remain vigilant and condemn the atrocities committed by the Ethiopian regime. This incident underscores the fragility of the Ethiopian government and highlights the Amhara Fano forces as potential allies in stabilizing the Horn of Africa. However, the targeting of Amhara civilians in the capital city cannot be ignored and must be met with condemnation and accountability. Developing: Mexican security forces are currently battling elements of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel across multiple areas in the country following the elimination of its leader, Nemesio โ€œEl Menchoโ€ Oseguera Cervantes, in a military operation. Details on the operation: According to Mexican news outlets, the operation that killed El Mencho was carried out by federal military forces in the mountainous region of Jalisco early Sunday morning. Reports indicate that specialized army units located and engaged the cartel leader in an operation that unfolded for hours, resulting in his death in the town of Tapalpa. Authorities have not disclosed the precise details, but sources cited by major newspapers said the mission was the result of sustained intelligence work and targeted planning by Mexicoโ€™s security apparatus. Thereโ€™s also talk of some sort of US involvement (could be intel sharing). Right now, video and images coming out of Mexico show burning vehicles blocking major highways and thick plumes of smoke rising over several cities in Jalisco, including Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta. Armed groups have set up โ€œnarcoโ€ roadblocks, torching cars and trucks to paralyze traffic and slow down the movement of security forces. At the Guadalajara airport, passengers have been seen fleeing amid reports of nearby gunfire, while flights to Puerto Vallarta were temporarily suspended due to the security situation. The unrest has spread beyond Jalisco into neighboring states, including Michoacรกn, Guanajuato, Tamaulipas, Colima, and Nayarit, with similar blockades and vehicle fires reported along key transportation routes. Local authorities have urged residents to remain indoors as public transportation services were suspended in parts of Jalisco. The U.S. Embassy in Mexico has issued security alerts for Americans in Mexico, urging them to shelter in place due to ongoing security operations and related violence. As of right now, U.S. officials have not released a detailed public statement on the operation itself, but prior to his death, the U.S. State Department had offered a $15 million reward for information leading to the capture of El Mencho.
