He’s not switching parties. He’s just refusing to lie — and that alone is enough to make him radioactive to the Democratic establishment. My Christmas Message to the Peacemakers! Dear Family, Merry Christmas! At Christmas, we remember that Jesus, in all his glory, was born into a world that desperately needed him, but was not ready for him. He wasn’t born into comfort or safety. He was born into a dark and uncertain moment in history. The manger has become a symbol of peace, but in reality, it reflected how little room the world had for God’s son. His arrival was not met with understanding and love, but with fear, rejection, and a search for shelter. And yet, even then, heaven did not retreat. Jesus did not retreat. Jesus came not because the world was ready, but because Heaven could not wait any longer. He came knowing what it might cost. He came willing to go to the ends of the earth to save us. Even when he was misunderstood, even when led toward suffering, even when his path narrowed towards certain death, he did not hold back. He came to fulfill the dream of God, and he was willing to give everything for it. True Father lived with the same determination. He was called at a young age to continue what Jesus longed to fulfill. Father knew the opposition he would face. He knew the price humanity had to pay. And yet he was willing to pay it all himself if he could. He gave everything. He crossed nations, endured prisons, rejection, betrayal, and still never turned back. He longed to fulfill that which Jesus longed to fulfill. He lived his life not for comfort, but for restoration. He did not come to harmonize with the world as it was, but to awaken the world to what it could finally be. And he did all of this with a heart so robust and a smile so bright, that he made us believe it was all truly possible. True Mother has walked the same road. Our Heavenly Parent loves you." She is offering the peace of Heaven. And yet again, the world struggles to receive it. This Christmas, she sits in a prison cell. Not because she has done wrong, but because once again, we do not recognize the one who was sent. But history is not written by the world’s readiness. It is shaped by those who walk into the storm with eyes wide open, and the quiet resolve to carry Heaven’s dream no matter the cost. Jesus was not stopped by rejection. His sacrifice became the cornerstone for the next chapter of God’s providence. True Father was not deterred by resistance. He pushed forward, so that the blessing could be extended to all people. True Mother is not broken by walls or bars. She continues even now to lead, to pray, and to guide us into the next stage of Heaven’s history. Christmas reminds us that God’s work does not pause for ideal circumstances. It breaks through in the midst of darkness. It takes root in humble places. It advances through those who are willing to give everything, even if the world isn’t ready to understand. That is the spirit of Jesus’ birth. That is the spirit of Father’s life. My Christmas Message to the Peacemakers! Dear Family, Merry Christmas! At Christmas, we remember that Jesus, in all his glory, was born into a world that desperately needed him, but was not ready for him. He wasn’t born into comfort or safety. He was born into a dark and uncertain moment in history. The manger has become a symbol of peace, but in reality, it reflected how little room the world had for God’s son. His arrival was not met with understanding and love, but with fear, rejection, and a search for shelter. And yet, even then, heaven did not retreat. Jesus did not retreat. Jesus came not because the world was ready, but because Heaven could not wait any longer. He came knowing what it might cost. He came willing to go to the ends of the earth to save us. Even when he was misunderstood, even when led toward suffering, even when his path narrowed towards certain death, he did not hold back. He came to fulfill the dream of God, and he was willing to give everything for it. True Father lived with the same determination. He was called at a young age to continue what Jesus longed to fulfill. Father knew the opposition he would face. He knew the price humanity had to pay. And yet he was willing to pay it all himself if he could. He gave everything. He crossed nations, endured prisons, rejection, betrayal, and still never turned back. He longed to fulfill that which Jesus longed to fulfill. He lived his life not for comfort, but for restoration. It was 2018. Today makes it exactly 7 years since Winifred's Father and brother gangraped 8 years old Ochanya to death. Day by day, turn by turn, Mr. Andrew and his son violate and defile an innocent girl of 8 years for more than five years. On the 27th October, 2018, protest broke out. We started from Wrukum (Food Basket of the Nation) Round about in Makurdi Northbank, then to government house. While we protested there, others were protesting in Wadata, and Kanshio. I came online, (Facebook) I saw that people were protesting in Abuja too. Then Winifred's Father was arrested. We were told that the son was "on the run"—till date, he has not be caught. (They just didn't want to). Shame on the police. The mother hid about ten reports from doctors. So the girl could not be treated because she feared for her son and husband. Ochanya could no longer pee or execrate, her situation became worse, yet father and son were still riding her. It started when she was 8years, down to 13years, then we lost her. No, Ochanya didn't d!e, Andrew and his son kllled her in an inhumane cruel and demonic way. Seven years after, the man who raped an eight years kid is still a lecturer in Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo, teaching other pretty teenagers. Imagine how many young girls he would have raped to give them good grades. The Justice system failed Ochanya. The son is still roaming the streets amongst innocent toddlers. He is a predator and must be caged behind bar. Justice must prevail. Join me to call on Nigeria Police Force and Benue State Government to ensure that justice prevails. Ochanya deserves justice. Then big money is paid to so called influencers to character assassinate the victim, gaslight her and share all her private photos, videos, information, addresses and family details on all social platforms. Peddles a narrative that the victim is not a minor. Then takes out a religious rally and openly threatens the victim and her family. Promises to burn everyone fighting for justice of the victim…like Hanuman did to Lanka!!! Goes to court and gets a Gag order to ensure that media doesn’t bring up his name when speaking about the case. Approaches the vacation bench at the Telangana High Court and pleads for an interim bail. Before the bail hearing starts, takes and admits his old mother to the hospital because apparently she fell sick due to all these developments. Not the victim’s mother or father but the accused’s politically powerful father’s mother is stressed. Tries to milk sympathy by releasing mother’s hospital videos. Interim bail is refused. Next day, which is DAY NINE of the FIR after a series of dramatic incidents, 27 year old son Bandi Bageerath is in Charlapally jail. Meanwhile Bageerath wipes out his phone and loses his SIM card. Today Bandi Sanjay comes in front of the media and claims he is the only father who surrendered his only son to the police. Not enrolled him in the army. Not sending him to fight at the border. Let me be that living example of what Your love looks like when it walks, talks, & forgives. If somebody sees me & feels hate, let them see You instead of that hatred. Analyzing Episode 39. Season 2 aka Of Closets, Skeletons, and Haunting Truths Eveeeetttt. I finally found some of my old energy to write because last night's episode was AWESOME. And, allow me, nay, give me the freedom to say 'I TOLD YOU SO!' because the zombie turned out to be just as big a sh!thead as I expected him to be. Okay, now that I've gotten that exultant vindication out of the way, let's get on with our analysis. We start the episode with FrankenBoran saying 'Alya' and promptly fainting again. When he comes to again, he remarkably remembers all his other family members, and proceeds to creep Alya out further by calling her beautiful. I mean, don't get me wrong, but if a loving husband woke up from a year-long coma and saw his wife, I'd expect him to say something like 'I missed you' or 'How have you been?' But this guy? He goes straight for the look at my hot trophy-doctor wife. Yech. Anyway, at the zombie's insistence of seeing Cihan Deniz, Alya informs his decrepit self of the accident and all that followed, minus the mountain of trauma she went through. Is anyone else surprised by how handy this man's memory is? Because what the heck do you mean he doesn't remember asking his brother to marry his widow? When Cihan is forced to inform the zombie of his marriage to Alya, he suddenly switches to victim mode and passes out again. Convenient. After that, the assorted Alboras all convene in the salon at Sadakat's insistence, where she tries and fails to guilt-trip Cihan and Alya into showing Deniz to the zombie. Then she fine-tunes her maternal emo blackmail skills to keep Cihan from telling Boran who his real father is. Spot the witch's hypocrisy here? The only thing that made that entire scene bearable was Nare and Kaya supporting Cihan and Alya. Thank goodness for Azem and Fiko anne's genes. Alya's scene with Deniz (who's still blissfully napping) was a cute reprieve. She's understandably struggling with how she's going to explain the mess the zombie has made of their lives to her son. And, like any decent mom, she wants to protect Deniz from all kinds of pain, but finds herself helpless. And the fact that Cihan walks in and says he wishes he could protect Alya from the ugliness of life because she's just as innocent as Deniz was special to me. Because the world we live in will always blame women first, regardless of whether they're guilty or not. I've read so many comments from random losers (yep, losers) blaming Alya and accusing her of 'loose morals' because she refuses to return to the PoS husband who all but foists her on his brother's shoulders to save his own worthless self. That little reminder by Cihan of Alya's innocence in all that's happening to them made me want to hug Gulizar. Because that scene was put in there for a reason. It's to remind the viewers to watch what's happening without the blinders of hate and judgment. Because sometimes the truth requires you to be a little more than just your hateful prejudices. The next scene that stood out to me was when Boran sees Deniz. Because there you can clearly see the difference between Cihan and Boran in their 'husband' or 'protector' roles. When Boran struts to Alya in his fake righteous indignation and asks her about which room is hers, you can see his harsh, condemnatory behavior in juxtaposition to Cihan's loving acceptance of all that Alya is. Even when Cihan doesn't know her, he intrinsically trusts her and refuses to believe his mother's accusations about her and Izzet. The fact that Boran expects Alya to have a separate room, even though he specifically asks Cihan to marry Alya, is just more proof that the zombie merely wanted the marriage to ensure Alya didn't move on in her life. It was never about love or protection. It was about control and possession. Among the many outstanding scenes of this episode were Cihan and Alya facing off against Boran. Because it was about damn time this freaking skeleton was dragged out of the closet and forced into the light of truth. Why do people expect Alya to go back to Boran? Why do they expect her to stay silent about loving Cihan? Because she's a woman? Because her worth is measured by what the world dictates is her honor? Fcuk that. And that's precisely what Alya's monologue is about. How is she the one to blame when her ex-husband was the one lying to her since day one? How is the shame hers when Boran felt none, asking his brother to marry his widow just so he could return and claim her like she's some baggage? Alya rightly informs the zombie that, in his attempt to play God, his decision made her Cihan's wife. And, no matter how much he apologizes, nothing will change the truth of her feelings. She loves Cihan now, and that's that. Now, let's focus on Cihan's talk with Boran. I feel so sad for Ciho, because the man he looked up to turned out to have feet of clay. And, Cihan's realization of that becomes obvious as their 'talk' continues. When Cihan admits he loves Alya, Boran immediately hits him with Meryem. The zombie has the audacity to say that if Cihan managed to get over Meryem, his love for Alya could be a passing thing too. Manipulative ass. Thankfully, Cihan has the perfect comeback. And, what's more, we as the audience know he's telling the truth, because we've seen him evolve. He says what he thought was the truth was actually a lie, and it was only something he realized when he came face-to-face with the real deal. Alya truly is the love of his life. A fact that only becomes clearer as he continues to talk. When Boran dares to ask whether Cihan has slept with Alya, you can see Cihan's heart break in the heavy breath he expels. It's almost as if he can't believe the words he's hearing. But despite that, he answers. And he answers truthfully. Why? Because he'd never allow what he feels for Alya to be marred by accusations of lust. Of falling under the spell of her beauty only. Cihan knows Alya is beautiful. And he's often mesmerized by her beauty. But he falls in love with who Alya is. As a mother. As a doctor. As his wife. He falls in love with all the aspects of her, good and bad. And his dialogue 'whether I touch her or not, my love for her will never change,' proves he's operating on a different plain than his scum of a brother. The fact that Alya is willing to risk being called 'characterless' or 'easy' with the trauma of her past, and that Cihan is willing to go against his entire code of 'family and duty' for each other, is the biggest proof of their love. It's not easy to break out of the mold our circumstances and life place us in. But what makes Alya and Cihan inherently attractive is that they're willing to risk it all for love, while still sticking to their principles and beliefs. I think I fell in love with CihAl as a couple all over again in this episode. These two characters are possibly the most conscientious protagonists I've seen in a dizi, and it's laughable when people pass judgment on them due to morals, lmao. Now, on to less palatable topics. The zombie and Albora's haunting truth. The last scene of the episode makes several silent revelations. One is that Boran was never happy being sidelined in favor of Cihan as the leader. Two is that Boran likely killed Sulaiman Baybars, not out of a vendetta, but possibly because he was trying to prove himself worthy of the mantle of leadership, and being exiled instead pissed him off. Three is that Boran will likely stoop to any level, including going over to Ecmel's side to snatch what he feels is rightfully his. And four is that allowing Boran to escape the consequences of his actions created a monster who thinks the world revolves around him. It's obvious by the look on Boran's face that he's going to pick bitterness and payback over introspection and accountability. And in doing so, Albora's haunting truth will be repeated - the biggest danger to the family isn't some external enemy, it's often one of your own, driven by festering envy and entitlement. We are so quick to ask for prayer when we are poorly, but not as quick to thank him for the result. I wanna get better at because I'm still here, and that... is a miracle, thank you, Jesus 🙏 When someone asks for prayer, you know they are not ok, as it actually takes a lot of courage to ask for prayer and admit you aren't coping. But society doesn't teach us that. We all put on that brave face. How about you just be YOU, exactly how you come today, and then how you come tomorrow and so on. So many more people will be touched as they gravitate to the vulnerable sides we dont like people to see. No one can be strong all the time. But at the beginning of this now 6 month fight, I would try and be whom I thought people expected me to be, but there comes a time you can't pretend, and I am realising that is OK as well. When you have no choice but to just "be," that's when you find your true self. It doesn't mean that a loud, vibrant person isn't me either. It just means I'm stripped back atm and taking a step back to heal. One can only get back up so many times, before they fall and stay there for a while, and that's me now, and I have now learnt that it is also OK as well. During these times of absolute stripping back, I like to call it, you lose energy very quickly. So, during your "healing journey," many follow and offer help, support, and love, and as the journey goes on, it gets less than a few less again. Then you get to the point where people just don't know what to say. Because you know what? Either do I? I feel like if I explain every detail to someone of the last 5 years I've just met, they wouldn't even believe it could happen because I still struggle too. My best friend Nadine wrote this song for me, and I've used it to show you some really personal pictures of the last 6 months fighting golden staph and then sepsis. Keep in mind these are the good pictures, I tried to take the confronting ones out. This journey is still ongoing, and It's been in this time that EVERYTHING has started to crash around me, literally.... I was and still feel numb, I didn't want to talk, and some days I still don't want to. Don't take it as a sign against you. I need to learn how to take off everything that has crashed around me first. I'm still on the floor and I've realised that it's ok to stay there for a while as well. I nearly died twice in the last 6 months, and sometimes I ask why I didn't? Because after 20 years in pain, it's a long road with very few walking companions. I cry thinking about my beautiful son Colby, who has had to watch this journey nearly his whole life. I wish he didn't have to, but then part of that is what makes him, him as well. So there is ALWAYS a purpose, and there is ALWAYS a reason. Man, I am proud mumma of the man you have become❣️ So I hold on to that last string of hope I still have, well let's say a peice of cotton, in the hope that when my story is read it will help other people, and maybe change lives, because for awhile there I was actually brave enough to write it. I realise managing to sit in the sun for 30 mins in the morning is heaven. Sitting for meals and then back to bed is the reality, but I hang on to "I sat in the sun for 30 mins today." Then slowly but surely I will lift off the things that have fallen on top of me, one at a time, and start finding my way back. Because my small circle is unfailing, never changing, always loving, accepting of any way I come and always available. I am loved and so very blessed 🙏 I'm extremely grateful for all the messages, and if I haven't replied, you now know why, but I have read them ALL, and I thank you. They continue to encourage me. We are so quick to ask for prayer when we are poorly, but not as quick to thank him for the result. I wanna get better at because I'm still here, and that... is a miracle, thank you, Jesus 🙏 When someone asks for prayer, you know they are not ok, as it actually takes a lot of courage to ask for prayer and admit you aren't coping. But society doesn't teach us that. We all put on that brave face. How about you just be YOU, exactly how you come today, and then how you come tomorrow and so on. So many more people will be touched as they gravitate to the vulnerable sides we dont like people to see. No one can be strong all the time. But at the beginning of this now 6 month fight, I would try and be whom I thought people expected me to be, but there comes a time you can't pretend, and I am realising that is OK as well. When you have no choice but to just "be," that's when you find your true self. It doesn't mean that a loud, vibrant person isn't me either. It just means I'm stripped back atm and taking a step back to heal. One can only get back up so many times, before they fall and stay there for a while, and that's me now, and I have now learnt that it is also OK as well. During these times of absolute stripping back, I like to call it, you lose energy very quickly. So, during your "healing journey," many follow and offer help, support, and love, and as the journey goes on, it gets less than a few less again. Then you get to the point where people just don't know what to say. Because you know what? Either do I? I feel like if I explain every detail to someone of the last 5 years I've just met, they wouldn't even believe it could happen because I still struggle too. My best friend Nadine wrote this song for me, and I've used it to show you some really personal pictures of the last 6 months fighting golden staph and then sepsis. Keep in mind these are the good pictures, I tried to take the confronting ones out. This journey is still ongoing, and It's been in this time that EVERYTHING has started to crash around me, literally.... My cousin, Jonathan Ord asked me to teach the Come Follow Me lesson to his mission yesterday over zoom. This is the video I did and the full text. Hi. I am Brad Smith. I have ALS, which is a really weird disease that kills the motor neurons in my body. That means that I lose the connections between my brain and my muscles. My mind is still running at the normal rate. So, I can understand everything you say to me, but I can’t respond very quickly! I am getting faster, though. Last November I was the 3rd person in the world to receive the Neuralink brain implant. So I am controlling this computer with my brain. This is my old voice, recreated by AI from just two hours of me talking to my phone. I have come to see ALS as a calling, and I am trying to magnify it. I used to talk easily, but now I have to choose my words carefully, because it is hard and slow to type what I want to say. I joke that the Lord gave me ALS to get me to shut up. Those who knew me when I could talk laugh the hardest. President Ord is my first cousin. So we share grandma and grandpa Smith. Our grandma Smith was a character. When she taught at church, she would put a sign up that read: “thus saith the lord:” so I will try to keep this within what the Lord has actually said, while trying to teach you to look at a basic principle of the gospel in a different way. Ironically, the first verse of Doctrine & Covenants 93 starts with “Verily, thus saith the Lord”. This is an amazing section of scripture, Jesus Christ telling us to step up and be better! You should study it often. I will start with a story. I asked AI to make a video to dramatically tell the story. During college, I lived in Damascus, Syria, for a semester. It was a fantastic and wonderful experience. I especially loved exploring the Old City of Damascus. The Old City is built around the huge beautiful Umayyad mosque. Within the walls of the old city is a maze of narrow, winding, confusing streets and one really long straight street, as Saul found out in Acts 9:11. One day when a group of us were trying to get through this maze from the mosque to the Christian quarter of the Old City, we asked a man for directions. He thought for a second, then pointed and said, “Go left and then right, and then left and then right, and then left and then right, and then left and right, and you’ll be there.” Aren’t those the most ridiculous directions you have ever heard? We could have ignored him. But, we thought, he did know the city better than we did. So, with some laughter, off we went. Left. Right. Left. Right. And so on until, much to our surprise, we popped out at our destination. Life is a confusing maze. We face difficult choices, unexpected events, surprises, sorrows, opportunities, roadblocks. The Lord has given directions on how to get through to where we want to go. Sometimes the Lord’s directions seem odd, and we may struggle with the decision to follow. The Lord will not force us. It is our choice whether to choose and follow him. Wasn’t that fun? AI is getting crazy! I will be much less entertaining for the rest, but hopefully the spirit will teach you something new. The phrase “keep the commandments” (or “keepeth my commandments”) appears at least 4 times in Doctrine and Covenants Section 93, in verses 1, 20, 27, and 28. There are other references, like “keep my sayings” in 52 and “obeyeth my voice” in 1. So, commandments are really important in this Revelation. I suggest that making the gospel a more central part of our lives depends largely on how we look at commandments. When you think of commandments, do you think “I can’t. I’m Mormon”? (That was a popular T-shirt slogan during my college years.) Although, with the recent guidance from President Nelson, it probably should be “I can’t, I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints”. It’s a common reaction: “Thou shalt not do Cool Things.” People LOVE to focus on all the things we CAN’T do, as if we are trapped and deserve pity for our beliefs. No pity is needed. Commandments are opportunities, not constraints. Commandments are awesome! Allow me to illustrate. Imagine a spectrum between Good and Evil. Somewhere in the middle is “the Line” that divides Good from Evil. As a teenager, I wanted to know where the Line was, so I could get close to it without going over it. I wanted to be on the “Good” side but still be able to do as many “Cool Things" with my friends as possible. From my experience, I believe God gives us two types of commandments: 1) Get Back over the Line commandments and 2) Come Further into the Light commandments. Type 1, the Get Back over the Line commandments, could also be called “Misery Avoidance” commandments. They are designed to keep us out of misery or, if we’ve crossed the Line, to bring us out of misery and back into the Good side. These are generally commandments with a clear and defined point of success, such as “Thou shalt not kill.” You will know, at the end of each day, whether you have successfully followed that commandment. I think all of the Ten Commandments fall into this category. The law of Moses was very black and white. The children of Israel had been in Egypt without a prophet for a long time when Moses received the law, and they needed to work on the basics. So, if you follow the Type 1 commandments, you will refrain from doing things that make you miserable. You will know you are in the Good if you can answer the baptismal interview and temple recommend questions honestly and faithfully. If you can do that, you have taken the basic steps necessary to avoid misery and are on a solid foundation for the next type of commandment. Type 2, the “Come Further into the Light” commandments, are the really cool commandments. Once we are out of the misery category, we can really start to pursue joy. So, God commands us to do things that he knows will make us happier and more like Christ. These commandments are the principles of eternal development, such as “Love thy neighbor” (Matthew 22:39). There is no clear end to loving our neighbor—it requires positive and eternal progression. We can always love more, and we can always find another neighbor who needs our love. It is an eternal principle taught by Jesus Christ. And if we truly love our neighbor, refraining from killing him becomes pretty easy. It is through these commandments that we find joy in Jesus Christ. Elder Christofferson taught about this spectrum in the October 2018 general conference: “Most of us find ourselves at this moment on a continuum between a socially motivated participation in gospel rituals on the one hand and a fully developed, Christlike commitment to the will of God on the other. Somewhere along that continuum, the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ enters into our heart and takes possession of our soul. It may not happen in an instant, but we should all be moving toward that blessed state.” Our goal is to go THAT WAY (toward Christ) as much as possible. So first, get back across the line and stop doing things that will make you miserable. Then make every effort to try and be like Jesus, to “love one another as Jesus loves you.” The gospel of Jesus Christ is more than just “not doing” stuff. It is about coming unto Christ, being perfected in him, and denying ourselves of all ungodliness. Discuss with your companion what commandments and mission rules are for “Misery Avoidance” and which are “Come Further into the Light”! And, remember, commandments are ALWAYS connected to huge blessings. The Lord promised, “There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated—and when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated” (Doctrine and Covenants 130:20–21). Whenever we obey any of God’s commandments, we will get the blessing associated with that commandment. Elder David A. Bednar said: “The gospel of Jesus Christ encompasses much more than avoiding, overcoming, and being cleansed from sin and the bad influences in our lives; it also essentially entails doing good, being good, and becoming better. Repenting of our sins and seeking forgiveness are spiritually necessary, and we must always do so. But remission of sin is not the only or even the ultimate purpose of the gospel. To have our hearts changed by the Holy Spirit such that “we have no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually” (Mosiah 5:2), as did King Benjamin’s people, is the covenant responsibility we have accepted. “This mighty change is not simply the result of working harder or developing greater individual discipline. Rather, it is the consequence of a fundamental change in our desires, our motives, and our natures made possible through the Atonement of Christ the Lord. Our spiritual purpose is to overcome both sin and the desire to sin, both the taint and the tyranny of sin.” I LOVE this concept—and as I have paid attention, I feel like apostles are trying to teach us this all the time. Are we listening? Let me repeat what Elder Bednar said. He said that the commandments help us change what we WANT. Why is that important? Remember my teenage desires? I wanted to be as close to the line as possible so I could still look cool for my friends. That is a good example of the “tyranny” of sin. Even though I was not actually sinning (probably because I was afraid of my mother), I still had some small desire to sin. I said, “I can’t. I’m Mormon” with many dramatic sighs. Overcoming the tyranny of sin is getting to the point where the sin no longer looks remotely interesting or fun because we are too busy loving our neighbors and trying to be like Jesus. Elder Dallin H. Oaks said: “The Final Judgment is not just an evaluation of a sum total of good and evil acts—what we have done. It is an acknowledgment of the final effect of our acts and thoughts—what we have become. It is not enough for anyone just to go through the motions. The commandments, ordinances, and covenants of the gospel are not a list of deposits required to be made in some heavenly account. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a plan that shows us how to become what our Heavenly Father desires us to become.” This talk was given when I was on a mission, before most of you were born. It completely changed my perspective on the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is called The Challenge to Become” and I recommend that you study it. When the Lord says keep the commandments, he isn’t just telling us to stop sinning—he wants us to become like Christ and to have joy. Take a moment and think, Where am I on this continuum? Remember that none of us is perfect like the Savior, and we all need to lift one another. That is why we worship together. That is why we have priesthood quorums and the Relief Society, Primary, and youth organizations. The Lord taught us that truth when he said we all have different gifts: “To some is given one [gift], and to some is given another [gift], that all may be profited thereby. To some it is given by the Holy Ghost to know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that he was crucified for the sins of the world. To others it is given to believe on their words, that they also might have eternal life if they continue faithful” (Doctrine and Covenants 46:12–14). The Savior is still WAY over there: a thousand miles away somewhere. That is why we have quorums. We all have a long way to go. Let’s link arms and run together. Let me finish by telling a story from my mission to support my testimony of Jesus. Years ago my mission president said something interesting: “Either the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is truly the kingdom of god on the earth... or it is the greatest fraud ever in history.“ It is audacious to claim to be the true Church of Jesus Christ—but let me explain exactly why I know that to be true. I always BELIEVED that I was raised in the gospel of Jesus Christ. My parents taught me well and I felt good following the commandments and studying the scriptures. That led me to serve a mission in Brazil. My turning point of testimony came when I was 20–at least 2/3rds through my mission. We were invited into a house in the “fundos” of a property—a small structure built behind a larger house. The man was polite and allowed us to share our message. As I had done hundreds of times, I shared the story of Joseph Smith, a boy who sought the truth through prayer. I recited Joseph’s own words in response to his prayer: “I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me... When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!" I felt the strongest feeling I had ever experienced—an undeniable confirmation that what I said was true. It hit me in a way I can never forget! I knew that Joseph Smith was truly a prophet, and therefore the Book of Mormon was the word of god. What about the man we were teaching? How had he responded to my life-affirming spiritual experience? He shrugged and politely thanked us for the message. I was stunned. I felt like the windows of heaven opened on me—and he felt nothing. I learned that receiving answers to our prayers is like tuning a radio: not everyone is on the right frequency. For some reason, the Lord decided to broadcast on my frequency that day. I received the undeniable confirmation that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I have built on that foundation brick by brick since then. And every time someone has challenged me on Joseph Smith, I go back to that day in Brazil. I know that he was a prophet. My life has been blessed in ridiculously good ways since then. As I have tried to follow Jesus Christ, great things have happened to me. Even my hardest and most frustrating times have turned out to have a purpose. God has upturned my best laid plans over and over. But I look back and realize that I could never have planned any better. With the prophet Nephi I say: “I know that [God] loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things." (1 Nephi 11:17) When I say that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, that does not mean we have a monopoly on truth. I know Christians and Muslims who teach me to be better—and Members of the church who are far from disciples of Christ. We just have more truth: scriptures, living prophets, ordinances, personal revelation, and answers to many of life’s biggest questions! That is pretty cool. But we can’t be prideful about the truth we have. You have all probably met people to admire both inside and outside of the church. So, I am all in. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true—not a big fraud. And we are all trying to get closer to Christ. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me. Life has not been what I expected, but I trust him! I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of Jesus Christ and that the Book of Mormon is true. This is “intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth. Light and truth forsake that evil one.” With that knowledge, keep the commandments! In the name of Jesus Christ, amen .

My cousin, Jonathan Ord asked me to teach the Come Follow Me lesson to his mission yesterday over zoom. This is the video I did and the full text. Hi. I am Brad Smith. I have ALS, which is a really weird disease that kills the motor neurons in my body. That means that I lose the connections between my brain and my muscles. My mind is still running at the normal rate. So, I can understand everything you say to me, but I can’t respond very quickly! I am getting faster, though. Last November I was the 3rd person in the world to receive the Neuralink brain implant. So I am controlling this computer with my brain. This is my old voice, recreated by AI from just two hours of me talking to my phone. I have come to see ALS as a calling, and I am trying to magnify it. I used to talk easily, but now I have to choose my words carefully, because it is hard and slow to type what I want to say. I joke that the Lord gave me ALS to get me to shut up. Those who knew me when I could talk laugh the hardest. President Ord is my first cousin. So we share grandma and grandpa Smith. Our grandma Smith was a character. When she taught at church, she would put a sign up that read: “thus saith the lord:” so I will try to keep this within what the Lord has actually said, while trying to teach you to look at a basic principle of the gospel in a different way. Ironically, the first verse of Doctrine & Covenants 93 starts with “Verily, thus saith the Lord”. This is an amazing section of scripture, Jesus Christ telling us to step up and be better! You should study it often. I will start with a story. I asked AI to make a video to dramatically tell the story. During college, I lived in Damascus, Syria, for a semester. It was a fantastic and wonderful experience. I especially loved exploring the Old City of Damascus. The Old City is built around the huge beautiful Umayyad mosque. Within the walls of the old city is a maze of narrow, winding, confusing streets and one really long straight street, as Saul found out in Acts 9:11. One day when a group of us were trying to get through this maze from the mosque to the Christian quarter of the Old City, we asked a man for directions. He thought for a second, then pointed and said, “Go left and then right, and then left and then right, and then left and then right, and then left and right, and you’ll be there.” Aren’t those the most ridiculous directions you have ever heard? We could have ignored him. But, we thought, he did know the city better than we did. So, with some laughter, off we went. Left. Right. Left. Right. And so on until, much to our surprise, we popped out at our destination. Life is a confusing maze. We face difficult choices, unexpected events, surprises, sorrows, opportunities, roadblocks. The Lord has given directions on how to get through to where we want to go. Sometimes the Lord’s directions seem odd, and we may struggle with the decision to follow. The Lord will not force us. It is our choice whether to choose and follow him. Wasn’t that fun? AI is getting crazy! I will be much less entertaining for the rest, but hopefully the spirit will teach you something new. The phrase “keep the commandments” (or “keepeth my commandments”) appears at least 4 times in Doctrine and Covenants Section 93, in verses 1, 20, 27, and 28. There are other references, like “keep my sayings” in 52 and “obeyeth my voice” in 1. So, commandments are really important in this Revelation. I suggest that making the gospel a more central part of our lives depends largely on how we look at commandments. When you think of commandments, do you think “I can’t. I’m Mormon”? (That was a popular T-shirt slogan during my college years.) Although, with the recent guidance from President Nelson, it probably should be “I can’t, I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints”. It’s a common reaction: “Thou shalt not do Cool Things.” People LOVE to focus on all the things we CAN’T do, as if we are trapped and deserve pity for our beliefs. No pity is needed. Commandments are opportunities, not constraints. Commandments are awesome! Allow me to illustrate. Imagine a spectrum between Good and Evil. Somewhere in the middle is “the Line” that divides Good from Evil. As a teenager, I wanted to know where the Line was, so I could get close to it without going over it. I wanted to be on the “Good” side but still be able to do as many “Cool Things" with my friends as possible. From my experience, I believe God gives us two types of commandments: 1) Get Back over the Line commandments and 2) Come Further into the Light commandments. Type 1, the Get Back over the Line commandments, could also be called “Misery Avoidance” commandments. They are designed to keep us out of misery or, if we’ve crossed the Line, to bring us out of misery and back into the Good side. These are generally commandments with a clear and defined point of success, such as “Thou shalt not kill.” You will know, at the end of each day, whether you have successfully followed that commandment. I think all of the Ten Commandments fall into this category. The law of Moses was very black and white. The children of Israel had been in Egypt without a prophet for a long time when Moses received the law, and they needed to work on the basics. So, if you follow the Type 1 commandments, you will refrain from doing things that make you miserable. You will know you are in the Good if you can answer the baptismal interview and temple recommend questions honestly and faithfully. If you can do that, you have taken the basic steps necessary to avoid misery and are on a solid foundation for the next type of commandment. Type 2, the “Come Further into the Light” commandments, are the really cool commandments. Once we are out of the misery category, we can really start to pursue joy. So, God commands us to do things that he knows will make us happier and more like Christ. These commandments are the principles of eternal development, such as “Love thy neighbor” (Matthew 22:39). There is no clear end to loving our neighbor—it requires positive and eternal progression. We can always love more, and we can always find another neighbor who needs our love. It is an eternal principle taught by Jesus Christ. And if we truly love our neighbor, refraining from killing him becomes pretty easy. It is through these commandments that we find joy in Jesus Christ. Elder Christofferson taught about this spectrum in the October 2018 general conference: “Most of us find ourselves at this moment on a continuum between a socially motivated participation in gospel rituals on the one hand and a fully developed, Christlike commitment to the will of God on the other. Somewhere along that continuum, the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ enters into our heart and takes possession of our soul. It may not happen in an instant, but we should all be moving toward that blessed state.” Our goal is to go THAT WAY (toward Christ) as much as possible. So first, get back across the line and stop doing things that will make you miserable. Then make every effort to try and be like Jesus, to “love one another as Jesus loves you.” The gospel of Jesus Christ is more than just “not doing” stuff. It is about coming unto Christ, being perfected in him, and denying ourselves of all ungodliness. Discuss with your companion what commandments and mission rules are for “Misery Avoidance” and which are “Come Further into the Light”! And, remember, commandments are ALWAYS connected to huge blessings. The Lord promised, “There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated—and when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated” (Doctrine and Covenants 130:20–21). Whenever we obey any of God’s commandments, we will get the blessing associated with that commandment. Elder David A. Bednar said: “The gospel of Jesus Christ encompasses much more than avoiding, overcoming, and being cleansed from sin and the bad influences in our lives; it also essentially entails doing good, being good, and becoming better. Repenting of our sins and seeking forgiveness are spiritually necessary, and we must always do so. But remission of sin is not the only or even the ultimate purpose of the gospel. To have our hearts changed by the Holy Spirit such that “we have no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually” (Mosiah 5:2), as did King Benjamin’s people, is the covenant responsibility we have accepted. “This mighty change is not simply the result of working harder or developing greater individual discipline. Rather, it is the consequence of a fundamental change in our desires, our motives, and our natures made possible through the Atonement of Christ the Lord. Our spiritual purpose is to overcome both sin and the desire to sin, both the taint and the tyranny of sin.” I LOVE this concept—and as I have paid attention, I feel like apostles are trying to teach us this all the time. Are we listening? Let me repeat what Elder Bednar said. He said that the commandments help us change what we WANT. Why is that important? Remember my teenage desires? I wanted to be as close to the line as possible so I could still look cool for my friends. That is a good example of the “tyranny” of sin. Even though I was not actually sinning (probably because I was afraid of my mother), I still had some small desire to sin. I said, “I can’t. I’m Mormon” with many dramatic sighs. Overcoming the tyranny of sin is getting to the point where the sin no longer looks remotely interesting or fun because we are too busy loving our neighbors and trying to be like Jesus. Elder Dallin H. Oaks said: “The Final Judgment is not just an evaluation of a sum total of good and evil acts—what we have done. It is an acknowledgment of the final effect of our acts and thoughts—what we have become. It is not enough for anyone just to go through the motions. The commandments, ordinances, and covenants of the gospel are not a list of deposits required to be made in some heavenly account. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a plan that shows us how to become what our Heavenly Father desires us to become.” This talk was given when I was on a mission, before most of you were born. It completely changed my perspective on the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is called The Challenge to Become” and I recommend that you study it. When the Lord says keep the commandments, he isn’t just telling us to stop sinning—he wants us to become like Christ and to have joy. Take a moment and think, Where am I on this continuum? Remember that none of us is perfect like the Savior, and we all need to lift one another. That is why we worship together. That is why we have priesthood quorums and the Relief Society, Primary, and youth organizations. The Lord taught us that truth when he said we all have different gifts: “To some is given one [gift], and to some is given another [gift], that all may be profited thereby. To some it is given by the Holy Ghost to know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that he was crucified for the sins of the world. To others it is given to believe on their words, that they also might have eternal life if they continue faithful” (Doctrine and Covenants 46:12–14). The Savior is still WAY over there: a thousand miles away somewhere. That is why we have quorums. We all have a long way to go. Let’s link arms and run together. Let me finish by telling a story from my mission to support my testimony of Jesus. Years ago my mission president said something interesting: “Either the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is truly the kingdom of god on the earth... or it is the greatest fraud ever in history.“ It is audacious to claim to be the true Church of Jesus Christ—but let me explain exactly why I know that to be true. I always BELIEVED that I was raised in the gospel of Jesus Christ. My parents taught me well and I felt good following the commandments and studying the scriptures. That led me to serve a mission in Brazil. My turning point of testimony came when I was 20–at least 2/3rds through my mission. We were invited into a house in the “fundos” of a property—a small structure built behind a larger house. The man was polite and allowed us to share our message. As I had done hundreds of times, I shared the story of Joseph Smith, a boy who sought the truth through prayer. I recited Joseph’s own words in response to his prayer: “I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me... When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!" I felt the strongest feeling I had ever experienced—an undeniable confirmation that what I said was true. It hit me in a way I can never forget! I knew that Joseph Smith was truly a prophet, and therefore the Book of Mormon was the word of god. What about the man we were teaching? How had he responded to my life-affirming spiritual experience? He shrugged and politely thanked us for the message. I was stunned. I felt like the windows of heaven opened on me—and he felt nothing. I learned that receiving answers to our prayers is like tuning a radio: not everyone is on the right frequency. For some reason, the Lord decided to broadcast on my frequency that day. I received the undeniable confirmation that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I have built on that foundation brick by brick since then. And every time someone has challenged me on Joseph Smith, I go back to that day in Brazil. I know that he was a prophet. My life has been blessed in ridiculously good ways since then. As I have tried to follow Jesus Christ, great things have happened to me. Even my hardest and most frustrating times have turned out to have a purpose. God has upturned my best laid plans over and over. But I look back and realize that I could never have planned any better. With the prophet Nephi I say: “I know that [God] loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things." (1 Nephi 11:17) When I say that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, that does not mean we have a monopoly on truth. I know Christians and Muslims who teach me to be better—and Members of the church who are far from disciples of Christ. We just have more truth: scriptures, living prophets, ordinances, personal revelation, and answers to many of life’s biggest questions! That is pretty cool. But we can’t be prideful about the truth we have. You have all probably met people to admire both inside and outside of the church. So, I am all in. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true—not a big fraud. And we are all trying to get closer to Christ. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me. Life has not been what I expected, but I trust him! I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of Jesus Christ and that the Book of Mormon is true. This is “intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth. Light and truth forsake that evil one.” With that knowledge, keep the commandments! In the name of Jesus Christ, amen .

THE RAPE OF BRITAIN THE COVERUP: The tragic true story of how upwards of 250,000 young British girls as young as 11 years old were brutally raped millions of times this century by Muslim child rape gangs. The UK Government covered it up. They were tortured, drugged and murdered. Laura Wilson of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, in 2010 was a teenage mother at the age of 17 when she was brutally stabbed to death over 40 times in the head by Ashtiaq Ashgar a Muslim who said "I'm gonna send that kuffar (Non-Muslim) bitch straight to Hell." Ashtiq Ashgar threw her into the canal, but she kept fighting for her life. A pathologist report found that the stab wounds to the head were actually done to keep her under the water. Laura was sexually groomed and abused by older Muslim men from the age of 11. Just in the town of Rotherham there were over 1,400 children that were subjected to appalling sexual exploitation between 1997 and 2013. These horror stories are happening in every city and town in the United Kingdom and the crimes are being covered up. Children as young as 11 years old were targeted. They were doused in petrol and threatened with being set alight, they were threatened with guns. They were made to watch their friends get violently raped. They were literally picked up at their schools by Muslims driving taxis. Their lives were threatened if they told anyone. In two other cases 13 year old girls were kidnapped and being raped by these Muslim child rape gangs. The fathers tracked down their daughters and tried to remove them from the houses where they were being raped, only to be arrested themselves by the police. In a number of cases the victims themselves the children were arrested for offenses such as breach of the peace or being drunk and disorderly, with no action taken against the Muslim perpetrators of rape and sexual assault against the children. This was one such case. A 12 year old child, a young girl was in a house with five Muslim men who were abusing her. The Police came to the house and arrested her, the child, the victim, for being drunk and disorderly. In another case a 15 year old girl when she went to sanitary services she had a glass bottle broken inside her vagina. Another victim of the Rochdale Muslim child grooming rape gangs, was raped more than 100 times from the age of 12 and felt "let down" by the police who did nothing to stop this horror. She also revealed how police took her aborted fetus away for DNA testing when she was just 13 years old without telling her. She was raped "continuously" by up to 40 men, adding: "One would finish raping me and then the other one would come in and it was just like that all night." In Telford there are over 1000 victims. In 2010, 16 year old victim Lucy Lowe was pregnant when she, along with her sister Sarah age 17 and her mother Eileen age 49, were burned alive in their house by Azhar Ali Mehmood age 25 at the time. Azhar Ali Mehmood was a Muslim taxi driver who started raping and grooming Lucy at the age of 13. In 2018 the deaths were linked to the exploitation of hundreds of Shropshire girls. Azhar Ali Mehmood was jailed for killing Lucy, along with her mother Eileen and her sister Sarah, but was never arrested or charged over sex abuse. In 2022 it was reported that Detective Chief Inspector Clive Harding said the case did not merit review for sexual abuse. Another victim, who was drugged and gang raped, said Lucy's killing was a warning to others who might speak out. One victim in Telford was raped by more than 100 men. None of them have been prosecuted. Another victim, 13 year old Becky Watson, was killed in 2002 in the vehicle of Ahmed Nawaz a Muslim child gang rape member who was driving the car. He claimed it was a "prank" that went tragically wrong. Becky fell from the bonnet of his car near her youth club where she was killed. The car accident was labeled unexplained and a prank. No charges were filed. Vicky Round, a friend of Becky’s, was abused by the same Muslim child rape gang. They forced her into a crack cocaine addiction at age 12 and by the time she was 14 years old she was taking heroin regularly. She died at the age of 20 after a suspected drug overdose. In Telford alone more than 1,000 children were abused, raped, trafficked, drugged, beaten up, set on fire and murdered by Muslim child rape gangs during decades of coverup by the police and government authorities. One child was raped for 36 hours straight and nothing was done about it. These horror stories in every single town are not about sexual gratifications. This is about torture, submission and dominance. One victim a 12 year old girl in West Midlands had her tongue nailed to the table when she threatened to tell of the sexual abuse. Another victim had her head pulled back, and a kettle of boiling water held over her open mouth. In Oxford an 11 year old child sex slave describes how her trafficker Mohammed Karrar age 38 disfigured her flesh with a heated hairpin branding her with the letter "M" on her left buttock for Mohammed, so people would know she was his. She was just 11 years old when Mohammed Karrar bought her and loaned her to abusers all around the country for £600 a year. During a five year period the girl, now 19, was repeatedly raped by large groups of men in what she described as "torture sex." At the age of 12 she was introduced to Karrar’s brother Bassam, 33, who also raped her. She was sold to groups of Muslim men who violently raped her in private homes and guesthouses around Oxford and elsewhere. Sometimes she was injected with heroin or given date drugs to ensure she complied with the gang’s sick demands. Just after her 12th birthday the girl told Karrar she was carrying his child. He allegedly beat her up and then took her to a house in Reading where she was given a "backroom abortion" using a crochet hook. Seven men of Pakistani origin and two from North Africa are accused of 79 offenses against six vulnerable white British girls in Oxford. The charges include child rape, sexual trafficking and child prostitution. They were all found guilty. These are their names, they are the Oxford Muslim Pedophile Ring that committed horrible atrocities against British children. Kamar Jamil age 27, Akhtar Dogar age 32, his brother Anjum Dogar age 30, Assad Hussain age 32, Mohammed Karrar, Bassam Karrar, Mohammed Hussain age 24, Zeeshan Ahmed age 27, and Bilal Ahmed age 26. They are depraved monsters, sentenced to life in prison. This is just a small sample of the atrocities that have been going on in Britain for over 40 years against the daughters and children of Britain. This is the greatest child exploitation and child rape in the history of Britain and it has all been covered up for years by the social workers, the police, the justice system, the media, and the Prime Ministers. They must all be held accountable. In 2019 Lord Pearson of Rannoch reported in the Chamber that if we extrapolate nationally the Jay report on Rotherham and other reports from Telford and Oxford, there appear to have been upwards of 250,000 young white girls raped in this century, very largely by Muslim men, usually several times a day for years.
