Absolutely wild footage, this is a real world engine failure in a MD500 (Think Magnum P.I. helicopter) over Kauai, Hawaii out on a tour flight. You’ll probably have to watch this a few times but the video starts out with the helicopter under power and then the engine sound goes silent. The beeping you hear is the engine-out audio beep to inform the pilot that engine power has been lost. This maneuver that pilot is doing is called a Autorotation and the way to think about helicopter flight, the engine is turning this big fan (rotor blades) on top of the body and sucking in air from the top and projecting it downward to overcome the force of gravity. When engine power is lost, you experience a reverse in airflow because now gravity takes over and the air flow is coming from the bottom of the main rotor disk. The only thing the pilot can really do is to make sure the rotors keep spinning by changing the pitch of the rotor blades through the use of the “collective” which is a lever next to the pilot’s left leg and it only moves up and down. The pilot has to manipulate the collective during an auto rotation to make sure the blades keep spinning. If the pilot pulls up too much on the collective, the rotor blades will bite too much of air causing a resistance and slow the rotors down. If the pilot doesn’t pull enough collective.. the blades will speed up and potentially cause a catastrophic failure. The other control the pilot has is called the cyclic. This cyclic sits between the pilots legs and and manipulates individual pitch of the rotor blades to tilt the rotor disk aka “big fan” and make the helicopter go forward, backwards, left, right. So essentially in this type of emergency, you have to manipulate the controls in a delicate balance because no matter what, gravity is taking you to the ground because the engine is no longer producing power. The pilot did an outstanding job here given the geography and limited amount of flat terrain to put the helicopter on the ground. Thankfully it sounds like no souls were lost and only one injury according to a news report (see the link below)👇 Of course there is a lot more to helicopter aerodynamics but I’m trying my best to put this in simpler to digest terms. On AIPAC, Israel and the Jewish identity — They tell me you can’t say this and win an election in America, let’s put it to the test. AIPAC is not even an honest proposition, from the outset. So I don’t want their money. PACs and lobbies are a problem. If “the right” honestly believes the left to be as pernicious as we say (which I believe), there’s no way we should share a lobby with them. The reason they really fear me on the right is because a great friend of mine, mentor, and a man I consider family is Jewish. Only his views on this topic are even more “radical” than mine. Imagine living in a time where we call Black people “white supremacists” and Jewish people “antisemitic”, because they disagree with the political correctness or agenda. If losing is the price of telling the truth, then it’s a small price to pay. Did I say anything wrong or false in this video? Is this antisemitic? The one thing I’ve realized with all the anti-White rhetoric flying around… If White people don’t find the will to fight to save this country, we will lose it and all go down in the destruction together. Some people want that, some people are working to that end. Some people are too apathetic. Some people are just pathetic! I love this country and in order to save it we will need every other person that loves this country to help. I know plenty of great Jewish people. I know plenty of great White people. I know plenty of great Black people. I know great people of all races and creeds… The problem is not enough great people are concerned with the greatness of our nation. Or what being great would even look like for our nation. We will be great and no amount of political correctness will stop me from that pursuit. The question is of America’s resolve on mass. Political correctness or political problem solving? You get to pick one! Now I’m seeing people who follow me so I’m sure we agree on a lot, claim that Catholics are trying to dismantle the evangelical foundation of the American Right. With all due respect to my Protestant brothers and sisters, it is dismantling itself by way of ideological incongruence. I’m not going to write an essay because what’s simple is simple… Christians gave the country to communists and satanists. Christians watched the politics devolve into decadence, while they took tax exempt status and built mega churches that didn’t protect faith. Somehow, as the country was captured by the most foul and demonic perversions imaginable, our “ally” Israel continued to be a priority. To even begin to try and justify this disorder of priority is heresy. The proper Christian order of charity, family and faith is that which is most local to us. This is not theological trickery or political parlor tricks, this is sound 1st principle philosophy. Again, with all due respect, the evangelical foundation of the American right is dismantling because the philosophical underpinnings are inconsistent and illogical. I said 3 years ago this was going to become the dividing line. Unfortunately I was right. There are obviously enemies of Israel that are also enemies of ours, the question is who are our real friends. What does it mean to be a friend or an ally? Is Europe our ally? Is Australia? Are the 5 eyes? And yes we are right to ask this about Israel as well… But if you can’t even ask the question, it sort of reveals the answer. P.S. On AIPAC, Israel and the Jewish identity — They tell me you can’t say this and win an election in America, let’s put it to the test. AIPAC is not even an honest proposition, from the outset. So I don’t want their money. PACs and lobbies are a problem. If “the right” honestly believes the left to be as pernicious as we say (which I believe), there’s no way we should share a lobby with them. The reason they really fear me on the right is because a great friend of mine, mentor, and a man I consider family is Jewish. Only his views on this topic are even more “radical” than mine. Imagine living in a time where we call Black people “white supremacists” and Jewish people “antisemitic”, because they disagree with the political correctness or agenda. If losing is the price of telling the truth, then it’s a small price to pay. Did I say anything wrong or false in this video? Is this antisemitic? The one thing I’ve realized with all the anti-White rhetoric flying around… If White people don’t find the will to fight to save this country, we will lose it and all go down in the destruction together. Some people want that, some people are working to that end. Some people are too apathetic. Some people are just pathetic! I love this country and in order to save it we will need every other person that loves this country to help. I know plenty of great Jewish people. I know plenty of great White people. I know plenty of great Black people. I know great people of all races and creeds… The problem is not enough great people are concerned with the greatness of our nation. Or what being great would even look like for our nation. We will be great and no amount of political correctness will stop me from that pursuit. The question is of America’s resolve on mass. Political correctness or political problem solving? You get to pick one! Now I’m seeing people who follow me so I’m sure we agree on a lot, claim that Catholics are trying to dismantle the evangelical foundation of the American Right. With all due respect to my Protestant brothers and sisters, it is dismantling itself by way of ideological incongruence. I’m not going to write an essay because what’s simple is simple… Christians gave the country to communists and satanists. Christians watched the politics devolve into decadence, while they took tax exempt status and built mega churches that didn’t protect faith. Somehow, as the country was captured by the most foul and demonic perversions imaginable, our “ally” Israel continued to be a priority. To even begin to try and justify this disorder of priority is heresy. The proper Christian order of charity, family and faith is that which is most local to us. This is not theological trickery or political parlor tricks, this is sound 1st principle philosophy. Again, with all due respect, the evangelical foundation of the American right is dismantling because the philosophical underpinnings are inconsistent and illogical. I said 3 years ago this was going to become the dividing line. Unfortunately I was right. There are obviously enemies of Israel that are also enemies of ours, the question is who are our real friends. What does it mean to be a friend or an ally? Is Europe our ally? Is Australia? Are the 5 eyes? And yes we are right to ask this about Israel as well… But if you can’t even ask the question, it sort of reveals the answer. P.S. Zero MTX. Everything which was previously paid, is now a free addition and earned in game. I’m gonna be pretty blunt here because our side has been lied to, is lying to itself and frankly - we're denying the truth. We want all of the sympathy that comes with DOJ persecution without acknowledging the seditious violent Trump supporters who wreaked havoc that day. First, let's get some things out of the way: - Yes, the Jan 6th Committee edited to videos to make it look really, really bad. - Yes, there were undercover cops and likely FBI agents. - Yes, the DOJ has run roughshod over the lives of a bunch of folks caught up in the dragnet. But you’re only getting one side of a truth - and it will cost us another election in 2024 if we don’t wise up. Before you fall for the “January 6th was a setup!” routine from Vivek and others you need to know that there were hundreds of violent Trump protestors on Jan 6th. All of it is on tape. All of it is in court records. We have transcripts, text messages, confessions, eye-witnesses of violent rioters who intended to stop the proceedings, harm or even kill lawmakers. Hundreds of Trump followers brought tactical gear, goggles, helmets, comms equipment, and other assault preps. Was that a setup too?! Did some Fed compel them to pack a riot bag, fly hundreds of miles to DC and post death threats to lawmakers on the way? Were all the violent perps undercover troublemakers? $Imagine being such an amateur rookie that you use CapCut video editing app to edit an A.I. deep fake you made showing #KarenRead & her Attorney Alan Jackson “canoodling”, but forgot to remove the “CapCut” screen automatically appended to the end of it? Yeah, rookie move! But, that’s not the only one… This A.I. defamer who created this “Live Photo”—essentially a short video clip—also forgot to edit out their computer or iPhone notification tone sound from the background audio they dubbed into it—something that would never occur, as it presents here, in an authentic Live Photo. There are also visually several things at first glance that quite obviously give it away & make apparent it’s not real. These include: - The fact that the purported Alan Jackson (in the “Live Photo”) doesn’t at all resemble Alan Jackson - AJ’s head & face apparate and morph throughout (gee, if I didn’t know any better, I’d guess that this came from the same source as the Sallyport footage 😂) - AJ’s bracelet on his right wrist that he’s always seen in & wore throughout pretrial hearings & during trial is missing - The dichotomy in resolution of Alan Jackson & Karen Read—their faces in particular—and the things in the foreground & background, which are comparatively far more clearer This is such a shameful & disgraceful move, and shame on anyone for even believing it was real in the first place! Alan Jackson has a wife and a young daughter. How do you think they felt seeing this story? And then the Post even acted on this false information to follow Alan Jackson & his family all the way back to California to the confines of their own home & around town to capture photos of them so as to—I’d wager to say—create the appearance of a fractured couple / family / home. I’m just curious, if New York Post cared about the truth of this story, why not ask Alan Jackson himself when you’re following him around taking pics? PR agencies, part 1: When do you need one and who should you hire? Super common question. I've cofounded an agency and worked with at least a dozen others, and here's my answer. First, going direct as a founder doesn't mean executing every comms tactic, just as being a technical founder doesn't mean writing every line of code. If you can't keep up with all the comms work that needs to be done, you're a bottleneck and need to get help. And while you should never outsource the story and strategy, a good agency can help with crafting pitches, doing outreach, or managing a project like a launch or crisis. Finding strong writers is hard, so unless you luck out, you’re better off doing the writing yourself. Even if it’s mid, at least it’ll be mid in your voice. What are your options for PR agencies? Start with referrals from other founders. While people in the industry might want to advocate for friends or bash competitors, founders will usually give a frank assessment of their experience. Different kinds of agencies: 1) Large global agencies, eg Brunswick, Edelman, Sard 2) Boutique agencies specializing in corporate comms and special situations, eg Milltown or my former firm TrailRunner 3) Agencies specializing in tech startups, eg Outcast, Six Eastern, The Bulleit Group 4) Comms shops embedded with lobbying firms, eg Invariant or Tusk Strategies 5) Great freelancers like Cristin Culver, Cameron Langford, many others How do you choose the best agency? Look at the people on the team. Sometimes the person pitching is great but it's a different person doing the work. Always meet the "real" team and account lead. Consider: 1) How quickly are they sending you a proposal? This is the fastest and most responsive they will ever be, so use this to evaluate their operational tempo and make sure it keeps up with yours. 2) Is the proposal good? And by good, I mean: is the writing clear and precise? Are they asking the right questions? Are their ideas and their assumptions sound? Do they have a sense of aesthetic? Is what you’ve told them reflected correctly; did they know what to do with the information? 3) How badly do they want the business? Is it excitement about your mission (good) or desperation to land business (bad)? 4) Who’s recommending them? Are their former clients the kinds of companies you want to emulate: Do you respect the taste and judgment of people who like their work? If they have a logo in their marketing materials and you call the founder, does the backchannel review match the company’s representation? A lot of people will agree to an endorsement just to be nice, but their private assessment might differ. 5) Do they “get it”? Can they instinctively pick up on problems or opportunities without you telling them? 6) Do they know the players in the space? Actually know them, not relying on Google or AI or databases to look them up and find their emails? You want people on a texting basis with at least some of the influential people you want to speak to.

Our newest feature “Audio Overviews” has taken over the internet the past few days. The team has been sprinting - we went from idea to prototype in weeks, then launched publicly in under 2 months. We’re not waiting to launch, we’re shipping early and iterating. Tech is evolving faster than users can possibly know what they want. We're often anticipating needs for V1 then working alongside them to improve. Example: Very quickly we saw a massive user desire for in-line citations so our team quickly pivoted to build and launch. This isn’t just AI for the sake of “AI”, we’re working to bridge the gap between state-of-the-art research and human problems. Meetings are spent building, not just talking about building. We’re collaborating, deeply. NotebookLM represents a new era of product development within Labs at Google. We're putting user feedback and community engagement at the heart of everything we do.
