Same power cut affected a broader area of Dublin 2, where power is sporadically returning after an outage of close to an hour. The Dáil survived with natural sunlight in the chamber - the committee rooms in the basement weren’t so lucky…

Other committee witnesses, impressively, merely kept giving their evidence without interruption at all

Jim Gavin - the Dublin Gaelic football manager who won the famous 5-in-a-row from 2015-19 - has subsequently fixed Gaelic football, but can’t avert the transport committee plunging into darkness
