So your entire argument boils down to this Dimitris: we should ignore a demonstrably corrupt process by the RCMP and the AG of Toronto with the advice of the new AG at the time, David Lametti, because discussing it is impolite? That is not integrity, it is willful blindness. Defending this clear cover-up, after multiple democracy watchdogs sounded the alarm on this is tantamount to denialism. When you are worried about optics, it is to side with the abusers of power over the citizens they are meant to serve, something I think Socrates in Plato's Republic would have taught you had you paid attention. โ€ (๐™๐™š๐™ฅ๐™ช๐™—๐™ก๐™ž๐™˜, ๐˜ฝ๐™ค๐™ค๐™  ๐™„๐™“, ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ๐™–) Your standard for good governance is ignominious at best. Where is the accountability for any malfeascance? Silence in the face of this is nothing less than permission for a government to believe it is above the law. Are you not even remotely curious as to why they didn't even interview the prime suspect of the case, the Prime Minister? Graham Linehan: Arrested Over Tweets, Career Collapse, & Speaking Out | My Price Is My Life Ep #25 In this episode, James Oโ€™Keefe sits down with Graham Linehan, the award-winning Irish comedy writer behind Father Ted, Black Books, and The IT Crowd. Once one of the most successful comedy creators in the UK and Ireland, Linehan became a central figure in the public debate over gender identity and womenโ€™s rights after speaking out online in the late 2010s. What followed were major public controversies, a police warning after a dispute on social media, and an arrest in 2025 over posts on X that sparked a broader debate about free speech in the UK. Linehan reflects on the cultural backlash, media narratives, and the personal cost he says came with speaking out, including the impact on his career, relationships, and reputation. There's a door in England.๐Ÿšช๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ It's been there for nine hundred years. And on that door is a knocker. If you grabbed it, the law couldn't touch you.โš–๏ธ Durham Cathedral. Built in 1093. From the moment it was finished, a rule was carved into its stone. Anyone who reached that knocker was protected. Thirty-seven days. No one could arrest you. No one could harm you. Two monks sat in a room above the door. Day and night. Every hour. Listening for a knock. Because when it came, they had to open the door. They gave you a black gown. A yellow cross on the chest. A bed. Food. And for thirty-seven days, safety. After that, you had a choice. Face trial. Or leave England forever. They called it abjuring the realm. Walk to the coast carrying a cross. Never leave the road. Board a ship. Never come back. Over three hundred people claimed sanctuary. Murderers. Thieves. Debtors. All given the same protection. The right of sanctuary ended in 1623. But the knocker never came down. It's still on the door at Durham Cathedral. Nine hundred years old. Still holding the ring that saved three hundred lives. England built mercy into its architecture. Into the stone. Into the door. Into a ring that anyone could grab. Be part of us. Be Proud Of Us. ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

Trump's 'Mission Accomplished' Blunder In times of war, the right words by the commander in chief can make inspire a population to even stunning sacrifice to win. Poorly chosen words, however, can undermine it. Last night Trump made a blunder of the second category. Who can forget Winston Churchill's famous "Blood, Toil, Tears and Sweat" speech, made just three days after the Nazi's invaded France, and inspired the people of the British Empire to resist through even the dark days of World War II until final victory. In contrast, one of the worst speeches in American military history came when George Bush made the infamous "Mission Accomplished" speech in the early days of Operation Iraqi Freedom: that May 2003 speech came *before* the insurgency reared its ugly head and we fought another eight long years untill the next president silently withdrew without any victory. Last night at a campaign event in Kentucky, in an apparent attempt to fool the American people into believing this war against Iran had been all but won in 12 days (like his previous declaration of victory against Iran in 12 days), Trump claimed "You never like to say too โ early you won. (But) we won. In the first hour it was over." No. It was nowhere near over in the first hour. Not in the first day, and now now into the 13th day. We've officially lost 7 Americans killed, 140 wounded - so far - and we're bleeding funding at the rate of a staggering $1 billion PER DAY, 17 of our bases or military sites in the Middle East have been attacked, 10 of our regional allies have been attacked, Israel in particular has seen more devastation in its cities than at any point since its creation in 1948, and the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed. The Iranians have weathered everything we've thrown at them so far, and every indication they'll continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Short of a ground invasion (for which we don't have troops) or the use of a nuclear weapon - something that should be off the table - there is no identifiable path for the president to accomplish the sweeping and expansive list of objectives he has publicly declared, most painfully "unconditional surrender" of Iran's government. No, Mr. President, we have not 'won', and there is no rational basis for achieving a victory in the foreseeable future. Our best move forward at the point should be sober recognition a total military and political victory is not achievable at a cost we could afford, and to eat some humble pie and seek the best negotiated end that can be found (and ANY deal will be massively complicated by our walk-away from the JCPOA in 2018 and the two false negotiations we employed in 2025 and prior to this attack). But don't give us feel-good moments on a tarmac somewhere that we've won something our eyes clearly reveal we have not.

Theyโ€™re not backing down โ€” Ireland is rising ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช Alexandra Lavoie, alongside producer Efrain Flores Monsanto ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿš›, has been dispatched to Ireland to document a growing grassroots uprising of truckers, farmers, and working people pushing back against punishing fuel and carbon taxes. In Dublin, anger is boiling over. For days, Irish citizens have blocked roads and key fuel infrastructure, sending a clear message to their government: enough is enough. What began as scattered protests has rapidly escalated into a coordinated national movement โ€” one that many say has been ignored or downplayed by the mainstream media. Rebel News was already on the ground last weekend, with Ezra Levant and Efrain Flores Monsanto exposing what legacy outlets refused to show. Now, as tensions rise, Rebel News is coming back to continue that coverage โ€” on the ground, and unfiltered. Because just like in Canada, critics say much of Irelandโ€™s media landscape is tied to government funding โ€” raising serious questions about whose voices are actually being heard. Thatโ€™s where we step in. Just before our departure, Irish Prime Minister Micheรกl Martin rushed out a last-minute concession: cuts to some carbon taxes on petrol and diesel, delays on future increases, and roughly โ‚ฌ100 million in subsidies for farmers and hauliers โ€” part of a broader package worth hundreds of millions. But for many protesters, itโ€™s too little, too late. After nearly a week of sustained blockades, demonstrators say they are not backing down โ€” and the movement is already beginning to spread beyond Irelandโ€™s borders. Meanwhile, political pressure is mounting. A no-confidence vote over the governmentโ€™s handling of the carbon tax crisis is now on the table in Parliament, with large crowds expected to gather outside. On the ground in Dublin, Rebel News is heading straight to the front lines โ€” speaking directly to the truckers, farmers, and workers driving this movement. What do they want? And why do they believe their government has stopped listening?

Full episode now on X: My conversation with Dmitry Balyasny, founder and Chief Investment Officer of Balyasny Asset Management, one of the most successful and disciplined multi-manager hedge funds of the last two decades. I sat down with Dmitry to talk about his journey from a 7-year-old immigrant from Kyiv who spoke no English to building a $30+ billion investment platform, and the hard-earned lessons about markets, talent, and human nature that shaped his path. Dmitry founded Balyasny Asset Management in 2001 after cutting his teeth at Schonfeld Securities starting in 1994. He's built BAM into a dominant force in the multi-manager space, managing over $30 billion with a team of 2,300 employees worldwide. His approach combines rigorous risk management, systematic talent development, and a deep understanding of what separates great analysts from great portfolio managers. Widely regarded as one of the most thoughtful operators in the hedge fund industry, Dmitry has spent three decades studying the psychology of trading, the evolution of market edge, and the organizational design required to scale excellence. We spoke about: - Immigrating from Kyiv at age 7 and how that shaped his worldview - Reading Atlas Shrugged in college and how Ayn Rand's philosophy influenced his thinking - Losing every dollar he made in his first year as a broker and why he persisted - Building BAM from scratch and the most important decisions over 25 years -Attracting and retaining talent in a hyper-competitive compensation environment - How the nature of edge has changed over two decades - What a day in the life of running a $30B hedge fund actually looks like โ€ฆ and much more.
