Pray with Me for Tulsi and Her Husband Father God, in the precious name of your son, Jesus Christ, we come before you this day. We praise you. You are almighty God. You are high and lifted up over every power, principality, and might. Father, we come boldly but humbly to the throne of grace, saying your kingdom come. You will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Forgive us of our sins, Father. Cleanse us of all unrighteousness. We acknowledge, Father God, the immense sacrifice of your son, Jesus Christ, who came to the earth. He was the Passover lamb. He was the Word became flesh. He willingly died for our sins. He purchased us by the shedding of his own blood. He was beaten for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon him and by his stripes, Abraham is healed. I am not a teary preacher. I don’t think I’ve shed tears in the pulpit in the last decade but for a few times. Back in March though, I preached a sermon on Psalm 23 while in a valley myself. I struggled to read the text, and trembled throughout the sermon. As people came forward to receive the Lord’s Supper, my eyes were streaming. It had been an especially difficult season of ministry, and having come out of the pandemic by God’s grace and not a little adrenalin, I felt empty to meet the new challenges. After church, several people checked in on me, wondering if everything was okay (my wife was home sick that Sunday with whatever I had had earlier in the week, but I was glad she wasn’t there). Sadly, I mostly felt ashamed of the tears, and was afraid that the vulnerability which couldn’t be masked would cause members to lose confidence in my ability to lead. I scrambled to send a letter to the church the next day, explaining that the season had been hard, and justifying my tears by appealing to the apostle Paul’s throughout the New Testament. The elders of our church were amazing, and granted me a sabbatical later in the year (which is coming to an end this month). Our family had been going hard for nearly a decade after planting, so we felt the timing was right. I am extremely thankful to the pastors in our presbytery as well as Seminary professors nearby at Westminster Seminary California that have filled our pulpit over the last three months to make my sabbatical possible. Our ruling elders have been spectacular, going above and beyond to minister to the needs of the congregation in my absence. For us, it has been a time to reflect on the last ten years, learn, travel, and rest as a family. I’m excited to return to the pulpit, and covet your prayers for reentry. I share this all to encourage my brother pastors, and their churches: Friends in pastoral ministry, I know how lonely shepherding can be. May the Good Shepherd comfort and keep you. May he lead you by the still waters of rest and refresh your soul. Don’t be ashamed of your weaknesses, nor be afraid of being despised for them. The person who despises you for your weakness shows contempt toward the very thing God intends to use to demonstrate his strength. God teach us to boast in our insufficiencies, and magnify the sufficiency of God’s grace through our weakness. Other people may never know the challenges you and your family have faced, but the Good Shepherd knows, and he hasn’t abandoned you. Take comfort from these words written by Charles Spurgeon to pastors: “…You sometimes may not understand your own experience, and the perfect people may condemn you for having it; but what know they of God’s servants? You and I have to suffer much for the sake of the people of our charge. God’s sheep ramble very far, and we have to go after them; and sometimes the shepherds go where they themselves would never roam if they were not in pursuit of lost sheep. You may be in Egyptian darkness, and you may wonder why such a horror chills your marrow; but you may be altogether in the pursuit of your calling, and be led of the Spirit to a position of sympathy with desponding minds. Expect to grow weaker, brethren, that you may comfort the weak, and so may become masters in Israel in the judgment of others, while, in your own opinion, you are less than the least of all saints.” Friends in churches with faithful pastors, remember that your minister is beset by weakness, just as you are. This enables him to sympathize with you, but it should also enable you to sympathize with him. Welcome your pastor’s weaknesses, and let God minister to you through them. It’s a sign of an unhealthy culture when a church permits no weakness, or awkwardly avoids it; and if God delights to work through our weaknesses, it may also be a way of squelching the Spirit’s work in and through us. Care for your pastors, even as they seek to care for you. If you have a minister who has been serving faithfully for 5-7 years without an extended breather, bring it up in a congregational meeting. Maybe your pastor doesn’t need it, or maybe something like a sabbatical is exactly what he and his family could use. My sabbatical ends Jan 1, and I am excited to be back at our wonderful church with the saints, many of whom have taken an interest in our well-being over the years. It’s a privilege to serve Christ and his bride, weak as we all may be.

Taking time today to celebrate a passionate and visionary leader who has been part of our MTN 🇺🇬 success story - Somdev Sen MTN UgandaCMO who has been our Chief Marketing Officer for the last 6yrs. I will remember Som for many things..his first answer to everything is No, No, No..😅…never being one to take the conventional path but always choosing to swim upstream…I have to admit, it took me a while to understand 😃. He has been passionate about DOING MORE for Uganda which has been demonstrated by key campaigns that he and his team have executed - many of them memorable, some of them provocative, but all driven by a passion to make our brand the subconscious choice of every Ugandan. He surprised me with his love for photography (it’s a patient sport…a skill which so contradicts his everyday personality!) but his most endearing attribute was the deep care he had for his team, creating an environment where everyone’s contribution was valued and celebrated. Foreigners working at a carwash in Skegness started a fire in a burning bin to keep warm and burnt down a family business that had been serving the community for over 20 years 😔 ‼️ Official Statement from Suite Dreams As many of you are aware, we are living through a nightmare. Today, our family business, Suite Dreams, was destroyed. First, we want to address the speculation we’ve seen online. To be clear: we are tenants of this building, not owners. There were no "planning issues," and the "insurance job" accusations are as baseless as they are hurtful. The fire was a direct result of the neighbouring car wash using a metal bin for warmth. We had previously advised them that if they must use it, it had to be kept in the middle of their lot, far away from the building. However, knowing we were closed for Christmas and not there to complain, they moved the bin inside their back room. We only happened to be at the shop today by chance to pick something up. Upon arrival, we noticed a considerable amount of smoke coming from the back room in their side and found them unbelievably attempting to dab out the fire with sponges, but with the chemicals stored in that room, the fire had already taken hold of the roof. Within hours, 24 years of our hard work was gone. While we felt it necessary to set the record straight, we want the focus of this post to be on what truly matters: You. For 24 years, Suite Dreams has been our family’s life’s work. To stand by and watch what we built from the ground up be wiped out through no fault of our own is heartbreaking. But as we look back, we realise that the building was just walls—the business was the people. To our loyal customers: Thank you for choosing us to help make your houses feel like homes. Many of you have been with us since the very beginning. Your reviews, your recommendations, and your repeat visits allowed us to grow and serve Skegness with pride for over two decades. $A Message to the World I have something deeply important to share with you. I hope you’ll listen, and I hope you share this with others. The world has changed drastically and with every day we are rapidly moving into an unknown world that we have never experienced. We have entered an era where technology is no longer just a casual tool, it has become a force that shapes our thoughts, our actions, and our very sense of reality. Our dependence on it has grown, and with that dependence comes a silent, unseen battle for control. The very country in which you live, thousands, hundreds of thousands and millions died to protect, they stood in front of bullets and bombs to give you the life that you enjoy. They didn’t know you, but they believed in your way of life and the life they wanted for the people in your nation. Do not be kind to the people that try to take that away from you. Be anything but kind. In The past, governments fought wars with weapons, invading nations, shedding blood to claim power and control. Then came the wars of influence where no bullets were needed, only the installation of puppet regimes that served foreign interests while pretending to serve their people. Now, we face a new kind of war. A war of the mind. Disinformation and manipulation have become the weapons of choice. No longer do oppressors need to march armies across borders to control the people of nations that they cannot reach to invade. Instead, they infiltrate through screens, social media, and news outlets, slowly shaping public opinion, radicalizing individuals, and bending reality itself. It reaches you through your screens, your devices, and the media you consume. It is funded by those who do not wish to liberate, but to manipulate. Those who do not see democracy as a right, but as an obstacle and something to be weakened, controlled, and ultimately, destroyed so they can have their way with your world and use you to their benefit. It speaks to and affects you, it speaks to your children and warps their minds as they grow at their most crucial time, discuss the world with them and find out about how they feel about the world around them, it affects your family members, your friends and the people you work with. The goal is simple: to make you believe in leaders who do not serve you but serve the interests of those who wish to control and divide. To make you vote for those sympathetic to the causes of dictators and tyrants. They spread information designed to turn allies into enemies, to turn neighbors against each other, to fracture nations from within. They radicalise individuals, not with weapons, but with words and stories that twist reality, distorting truth, and feeding the chaos that ensues. We have an obligation, not just as citizens of our countries, but as human beings, to ensure that the world does not fall victim to those who seek to control and destroy it through these technologies. Right now, I will not speak about the sides in which I stand, or the governments I support and the ones which I do not. But I will say, the things that I believe in, I spend time, or should I say, I invest time into myself and to knowledge to ensure the things i believe are true. You must be aware. A Message to the World I have something deeply important to share with you. I hope you’ll listen, and I hope you share this with others. The world has changed drastically and with every day we are rapidly moving into an unknown world that we have never experienced. We have entered an era where technology is no longer just a casual tool, it has become a force that shapes our thoughts, our actions, and our very sense of reality. Our dependence on it has grown, and with that dependence comes a silent, unseen battle for control. The very country in which you live, thousands, hundreds of thousands and millions died to protect, they stood in front of bullets and bombs to give you the life that you enjoy. They didn’t know you, but they believed in your way of life and the life they wanted for the people in your nation. Do not be kind to the people that try to take that away from you. Be anything but kind. In The past, governments fought wars with weapons, invading nations, shedding blood to claim power and control. Then came the wars of influence where no bullets were needed, only the installation of puppet regimes that served foreign interests while pretending to serve their people. Now, we face a new kind of war. A war of the mind. Disinformation and manipulation have become the weapons of choice. No longer do oppressors need to march armies across borders to control the people of nations that they cannot reach to invade. Instead, they infiltrate through screens, social media, and news outlets, slowly shaping public opinion, radicalizing individuals, and bending reality itself. It reaches you through your screens, your devices, and the media you consume. It is funded by those who do not wish to liberate, but to manipulate. Those who do not see democracy as a right, but as an obstacle and something to be weakened, controlled, and ultimately, destroyed so they can have their way with your world and use you to their benefit. It speaks to and affects you, it speaks to your children and warps their minds as they grow at their most crucial time, discuss the world with them and find out about how they feel about the world around them, it affects your family members, your friends and the people you work with. The goal is simple: to make you believe in leaders who do not serve you but serve the interests of those who wish to control and divide. To make you vote for those sympathetic to the causes of dictators and tyrants. They spread information designed to turn allies into enemies, to turn neighbors against each other, to fracture nations from within. They radicalise individuals, not with weapons, but with words and stories that twist reality, distorting truth, and feeding the chaos that ensues. We have an obligation, not just as citizens of our countries, but as human beings, to ensure that the world does not fall victim to those who seek to control and destroy it through these technologies. Right now, I will not speak about the sides in which I stand, or the governments I support and the ones which I do not. But I will say, the things that I believe in, I spend time, or should I say, I invest time into myself and to knowledge to ensure the things i believe are true. You must be aware.
